I am absolutely knocked out with this presentation - the way in which the young lady builds the excitement towards the end of her solo is truly wonderful - I was beginning to think that all the older guys in the world who have played this 'true' 'honest' jazz were a dying breed - how reassuring to see young people delivering such a meaningful rendition - New Orleans would be proud of you 'Ragstretch'

Chris Tanner is from Australia, where he ran a band called "Viras", which is still going strong as a quartet in the Melbourne area.He now lives in Copenhagan, I met him in a small jazz club in the UK, nice person to talk to!

Love the interplay between the trumpet and trombone. Ms. Barnett on trombone has a formidable and distinctive style.
For the record, this is “Panama”. There is a “Panama Rag” but it is a different tune by a different composer.
WOW! Rip-it-up hot stuff! Great rhythm section with guitar and drums particularly outstanding. Good use of dynamics to build climaxes throughout performance. Strong soloists all!

The main thing why this is so good is because of the highly swinging rhythm section. A guitarist who just strums in fours without wanting to prove anything, like this guy does, is a rarity nowadays.....
