Getting into DCS completely killed all desire to play War Thunder for me. Once you see what money gets you in that game, there's really no reason other than maybe a desire for arcade gameplay to continue with War Thunder. Everyone's time and money is their own, so no hate, but that's my stance.
The only reason I’ll be buying the A6 is my personal love of the aircraft IRL. It’s always A10 this and F14 that, (I love those aircraft too but let’s face it, everyone does) but the A6 is an unsung marvel for the time period that it served.

Paveway II is the name of the guidance kit installed onto the existing Mk series dumb bombs. That's why you can see GBU - 12 Paveway II (based on Mk 82 500 lbs bomb) and GBU - 16 Paveway II (based on Mk 83 1000 lbs bomb)

I saw a jet go down because of an asymmetric bomb load, they had a fuel flow issue as well but it's a valid concern. Also I think the A-6 is cool but it would have been nice to get the EA-6 or else get anti ship missiles. I have to imagine they added the MiG-29S because jammers are on the horizon but a slow heavy attacker like this really would have benefited from a jammer and it would have been nice to see how it would have changed the F-14 meta.
The fact that Warthunder gets an a6 before DCS makes me pretty mad lmao. Tho fun fact the f14 and A6 have the same wing! Must have made matainace logistics a breeze
I used to have a toy of the Intruder as a kid, and it was one of my favorite planes at the time. I'd even struggled thru using it in Ace Combat 4 and 5 just to fly my lil toy plane in game lol. Idk if I'll be buying it anytime soon tho, even tho I do have a full-time job lol

Completely agree with you Phly, at the same time, I want to play Star Citizen and those vehicles cost between $110 to $1000 for a freaken virtual vehicle which stupifies me bc I can afford it as a controls engineer but I’m not spending more than a year subscription to a game so 60-80 dollars would be my cuttoff but still, realisticly, I’m never paying more than $30 for a vehicle out of principle

I hated being deployed next to these, because they were as loud as an F-16 but as slow as a C-130. So on take off, they were just noisy for a long time for no reason.

In the old video game Flight of the Intruder (a 1990 flight sim), the A-6 Intruder during the Vietnam War had an advanced bombing computer, but nothing to defend herself in air-to-air, so I preferred to fly the F-4 Phantom which also had no gun, but could at least fire unreliable air-to-air missiles. Historically, an Intruder was bounced by an enemy MiG, but shot her down with a salvo of unguided rockets. Tried to simulate that in the game and it actually worked (after a lot of failures).

You know someone's a WT addict if they defend this plane. I work and have a family, so don't have time to grind, but I would never buy it. DCS modules make sense since so much work goes into them and the flight models, clickable cockpits, all flight systems, etc are fully modelled. This, all they did was copy and paste a flight model and tweak a few numbers. The model looks nice, but isn't laser scanned or has been studied down to the bolts like a DCS plane would be.
Honestly I'd love to have a team mate in a strato tanker and have a community rule to respect the tankers or to have a team mate circling the battlefield as a awacs

@@lightningstrike5024 if you are into sim games, you get a very high fidelity module that's very challenging to learn, fun to fly and is as close as the real thing as it can be. but if you are into games like war thunder with a more quick and arcade style, then DCS will have no value to you. It is mostly a question of what do you enjoy more.

From what I have heard, the targetting pod is supposed to be able to look behind the aircraft and its missing half of its thrust.

I didn't even have a little plastic piece of crap that breaks, I just had some pixels, in a game I don't enjoy anymore, to play with friends who stopped playing competitively a LONG time ago when it became apparent WT was never gonna be balanced enough for tournaments. Nah. I had to grow up, 50-70$ is a tank of gas, people. Make good choices.
One time youre refueling full, next time youre homeless because of pixels. Who wouldve known, that one childish play would turn your fate 360 degrees.
Over here that would be 1/3 of a tank for the $50.

@@lightningstrike5024 if you are into sim games, you get a very high fidelity module that's very challenging to learn, fun to fly and is as close as the real thing as it can be. but if you are into games like war thunder with a more quick and arcade style, then DCS will have no value to you.
It is mostly a question of what do you enjoy more.
