I got this but didn’t like the overall stance, so I took the neck and made it more articulate and made it taller. I swapped the cape for one that drapes well. I also painted the eyes black and tucked the robe under the shoulder armor. After doing the mods I love it.

Is Vaders neck silver or black in the movies? I just got this figure and thought it was strange his neck is silver.

His costume went through many changes from all of his different appearances, from the color of the buttons on his chest panel and belt to the variations of his cape.

The ANH Vader Has the best looking chest panel of any of the Black series Vader figures. Much cleaner than ESB and Kenobi.
Sadly, I cannot compare it to the ROTJ 40th Vader as I was never able to get my hands on one. I still like the ESB helmet the best.

Amazon still has those for 40 bucks and they're the same price on eBay an mercari. I'm still seeing those at Walmart though so you might keep your eye out.

So basically what's new is the bit of shininess and the robe not being tucked, but overall it's a complete reuse. There's really no new sculpture. If you already have the Kenobi Vader or even the 40th Anniversary New Hope Vader, then it doesn't warrant another purchase of the same figure unless you're a collector fiend that has to have every single Darth Vader figure.

I do have every Vader that has come out because my displays are sectioned out in the different movies and within them different scenes that he was in. I have four Vaders in the fight scene from Return of the Jedi alone. On the other end of that spectrum, I only have "one" Episode II clone trooper, just the basic phase one, no repaints, no Clone Wars repaints, no variants, just the one. No Clone Wars or Bad Batch figures will ever be in my collection.
