speaking of blue-eyes being the "strongest card", i think it's really silly they refuse to print normal monsters that are more powerful when Beast King Barbaros is 3k with 2 different effects and Superheavy Samurai Big Benkei is basically a 3500 attack monster (except better because it dodges attack debuffs and mirror forces and you dont take any damage when they beat over it)
I think it's just to keep blue-eyes white dragon as the "strongest" in at least one regard, even if it doesn't really mean much anymore. Heck, we had Gate Guardian as early as Metal Raiders which already had more attack than BE and that wasn't a problem.
There was someone playing Beast Gear deck in Stage 2 of WCS (Rush), even though I defeated that person it was cool to see someone play that deck even though its not the best right now and lacks more support 😢
I do plan to do so in the future, but the skill changes basically open the door to make the deck "less blue-eyesy" so it might not be exactly what you expect.
The version I'm enjoying is the triple Pressure build only Issue since I am F2P I can't run 3 of the Blue Eyes Cards the deck is really good as long as you set up Blue Eyes/Bright and Soul Drake in Grave Pressure just reads to me a Raigeki the opponent's field while you Monster Reborn a Blue Eyes 😢

I don't see Legend Magician and Legend Strike here: if they wanted Rush's Blue-Eyes to be a powerful Deck, they would have brought that combo in the Structure (if Rising Light Angel Essel could come early, Legend Magician can too) Speaking of this version of Rush's Blue-Eyes, I would say that it is the Ladder's favorite for fair reasons: it is easy to create, it is powerful, it is consistent with its strategy and it has good matchups. It's not the best of the best, but the Ladder will tell you that it is an oppressive Deck (however, the real Rush's Blue-Eyes from the Rush Duels format was an oppressive Deck and one of the best Fusion Decks at the time) Honestly, unlike Speed Duels with Blue-Eyes, I don't see Rush's Blue-Eyes being worthy of being nerfed as other Decks that are more powerful and unfair. PS: The recent Anime Episode served as a kind of Ceremonial Duel since it symbolizes a before and after for the Decks that participated. - F of respect for Jointech/High Tech Dragon. It's time to say goodbye to those two Decks since the new Hybridrive has begun to appear in the Anime. Even the new Jointech Monster that appeared in the Episode is more Hybridrive support than Jointech. Good trip Jointech/High Tech Dragon! They were never good Decks to begin with. - At the same time, Tamabot Deck passed ownership since the Duelist who used it will no longer use it. Either way, Tamabot Deck is becoming a reality: new Effect Monster, new Boss Monster for Tamabot, another Fusion Monster for Tamabot and Trap Cards dedicated to working with Tamabot (the Normal Monster)
