      He's a contradictory fellow.
      Wilder: I'd rather die in the ring
      Also Wilder: I box to support my daughter and make money for her.
      Hate to break it to you bud but if you're on a slab in the morgue or badly injured and can't fight any more, you can't make any more money to support your family.
      The man needs to decide what's more important: his ego or his family. You can't be spouting this macho nonsense about being this lone warrior going out on his shield when you have a family to take care of.

      Great fighter and clearly loves the sport. He was one of the few American boxers who actually had watched most of Tyson's fights before the first Wilder fight, and gave a more thoughtful insight in to why Fury was bad news for Wilder. As apposed to many in the American boxing community who had clearly never watched Fury fight but somehow were convinced Wilder would KO him in round 1.

I think bringing Breland back was to prevent him from giving away his Weaknesses to a future opponent, not because he Respected his decision, Wilder gets stopped again in the Trilogy if he doesn't change it up and fast.

      yeah him speaking on a video is not a interview. and he didn't make any costume excuses in that video nor in his post fight in ring interview. he was asked about his legs after the fight by a reporter and he said he shouldn't of been pacing or wore that heavy costume. He never said "I lost the fight because I was pacing backstage and wore a heavy costume" but it's just food for the haters to run with and spin narratives. And people over rate Ortiz a little. Solis used to dominate him in Cuba and while Ortiz had a lot of amateur fights he never made it to the top tier of amateur boxing. He was one of the weakest 91kg+ champs Cuba has ever produced. Between Solis' defection and the arrival of Savon Cuba did nothing in the 91 and 91kg+ divisions in those years.
      As my old coach use to say "he left his best days in the vest" i.e. he was at his prime as an amateur.
      Ortiz was an old man when he fought Wilder. Too many miles and too old.

He doesn't seem humbled by the loss at all, got the armor excuse, out there on IG saying he's still a warrior, etc. He's lost the stamina battle in both fights with fury, who has a lot more heft to overcome in a 12 round fight. I wonder if someone like Otto Wallin could take down Wilder now that the blueprint is clear, get in close on him and wear him down. Worst thing he could do now is knock out someone like ruiz and think it means he's back, he needs to up his competition

I really can't stand his character at all, and he has no authentic boxing skills. And you are absolutely correct.. Blueprint has now been exercised. Gotta say, Andre is not only an intelligent boxer/analyst but a bright human being. I never looked at the points he made the way eloquently put it. From Deontay making coward mistakes to the trainer throwing in the towel to give Deontay another big payday with Fury as opposed to letting him go out on his shield and no body possibly wanting to see that 3 fight that he has requested. And yes, Deontay Wilder has ruined black history month for 2020.

      I'm pretty certain fight 3 will get a lot less eyeballs than fight 2. People will (rightly IMO) figure Fury has Wilder's number. People keep saying "oh Wilder just needs a new coach or to learn some fundamentals" clearly have never boxed in any real way. Thats basically like saying a 35 year who never played basketball just needs to learn to dribble and shoot 3 pointers and he'll get drafted by the NBA next year....how realistic does that sound?
      Wilder is too old to learn anything significant that would change the result against Fury. He use to brag about having never learned to box properly. Well, he's had to pay the Piper now. And if he fights Fury again, he'll have to pay him once more.

    • @werdlyfe9577
      @werdlyfe9577 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      And that's exactly why they threw the towel in. I believe it was the plan from the beginning. Wilder getting knocked out would have killed the chance for a 3rd fight! It's all about the $$$$ What other fight is there for Wilder now that will bring in 20 million minimum? Throwing in the towel was not only a good move for wilders health it was also a good business move!

      When Tyson woke up from death in the first fight, you know there had to be a season 2 (Wilder vs fury II). But after season II with the outcome being a desvitated end of story line, that ended gave no hope for a Fury Wilder III. I'd rather watch Foreman vs Holmes or Bowe vs Klitchko . Mayweather vs Ward

      @@dbo4506 Wilder fan boys have been going on about his record but this is not uncommon for HWs to have seriously padded records. I mean Butterbean was 48-1-1 at one point. Under Wilder fans logic that makes him a hall of famer because he had some pretty numbers beside his name. 🙄 Same goes for someone like Charles Martin. Or Vaughan Bean. Or Michael Grant.
      I just wish people would actually make an effort to understand the sport of boxing, rather than casually glancing at a 2 minute YT clip of Wilder KO'ing hopeless opposition and erroneously concluding that Wilder is somehow a good boxer. He really, really isn't. If they understand the sport and actually watch his fights, they'ed get why people don't rate him as a boxer.
