When exo on the train and chen sing 'someone like you', that scene in exo ladder season 2 episode 10, you can watch and react it.. There are 4 season..
Baekhyun singing with the mask was taken back during the breakout of pandemic… he went outside for sightseeing and held a live to communicate with the international fans who doesn’t get the chance to catch him during his tour and whatso
12:45 in Exo it's usually Baekhyun who is known for doing lots of Falsettos. Exo does much more than just Falsettos but for your question, I guess kpop groups follows falsettos so much because they sound good to hear while at the same time doesn't hurt your throat as much as a highnote or gets complex to steady like runs.
The clip of D.O. "awkwardly" singing with his co-star (not an interviewer) sitting beside him was during promotions for the K-drama 100 Years My Prince, which D.O. starred in. "Cherry Blossom Love Song" was the OST that EXO member Chen sang for the drama. D.O. was reading the lyrics on his phone and laughing because it was a song he wasn't that familiar with. He hadn't planned on singing the song in the interview, and was asked to sing a few lines spur of the moment, so he wasn't fully prepared. Not sure why that stood out to you so much that you needed to keep discussing it, but for a song that he really didn't know well, I think it was an excellent example of just how good of a singer he is. He sounded great even stumbling over it.
They were reacting to the funny face he made reading the lyrics cause yeah, they don't know the context...you're being a bit rude with some part of your comment for no reason...they already know how good him and the others are good singers...
@@lauriegonzalez2374 Nothing I said was being rude. All I was doing was explaining the context of the situation. I think you are misreading my comment and putting feelings and emotions into my words that weren't there on my end. Try reading it with a smile and a cheerful voice , which is they way I was feeling when I wrote it, and you might interpret my comment differently.
@@milindawilson9175 "not sure why that stood out to you so much that you needed to keep discussing it" that the part that seemed rude..if it wasn't the purpose than it's totally fine, but i think the phrasing was what made it look rude..😉
@@lauriegonzalez2374 All I ment is that they mentioned it when they first saw the clip and then they thought it was so noteworthy that they circled back to that clip and talked about it again at the end. So, all I was saying, was I wasn't sure why that stuck out to them so much that it became a talking point. Didn't mean anything more or less then that.
36:19 its actually not an actual "mini concert" 😅😅 It was litterally like a voice note/voice messages. He sent it on bubble app (a communication app between celebrity and their fans). So it was his 1st solo album and he won his 1st music bank with his song rose. But sadly his 1st solo album/debut solo album never got it deserved promotion anywhere and he never perform the songs anywhere (its all SM fault 🤬).. so to celebrate his 1st winning and to thanked his fans he recording him singing snippet af all song and sent it to bubble app. Thats why we called it mini concert.
Story about Chanyeol and Sehun … they actually played the whole song “Rodeo Station” in their live but back then it was an unreleased song of them EXO SC for their upcoming album … those dork😂
Lol - he recorded voice messages onto his phone for that 'mini concert' - sm didnt give him a live stage for his debut solo album so Kyungsoo (D.O.) gave us one himself on bubble messenger when he won 1st place
It's actually not that random that Suho was singing in the bathroom. A lot of musicians and singers do warm up exercises or practice in the bathroom because the way bathrooms are designed often creates the best acoustics, so they are able to hear themselves clearly and can tell when they are hitting the right notes more easily than if they just sang in a random waiting room or green room with a lot of extra background noise, etc. That's not just a Kpop thing ethier, bathrooms are known for being the best place to go if you're looking for good acoustics all over the world.
The clip of Lay and Chen singing "Growl" in Chinese was during a Chinese TV network interview, so the people did understand what they were saying. Lay and Chen are members of EXO-M (M = Mandarin), so they sang all of EXO-M's Chinese versions of EXO's songs. Why would they sing the Chinese version if no one could understand them? Plus, Lay is Chinese and Chen studied Mandarin for years because they both were part of EXO's Chinese sub-unit, so why wouldn't they remember the lyric for the Chinese version of "Growl"? It's literally Lay's native language and Chen was the main vocalist of EXO-M. Plus, at that time they were still performing the Chinese versions of their songs on a semi-regular basis. What makes you think they wouldn't be able to remember the lyrics for the Chinese version?
I think singing in falsetto or even mixed voice is so prominent in kpop because it’s the healthier way to reach the high notes rather than just belting them all the time. Of course they can belt and reach those notes but for the longevity of their voices it just makes more sense to have a variety of belt and falsetto. I actually feel like exo and older gen kpop groups don’t use falsetto as much as newer groups imo. You see them use it more in this video because they are not warmed up or well-prepared so it’s easier to reach the high notes via falsetto. Edit: and of course you can belt in a healthy way it’s just more taxing than falsetto imo.
yeah I agree, you'll also see it relatively often that there's one (maybe even two) main vocal in a group that tends to take on the great majority of the belting parts. for example jongho from ateez, or dk & seungkwan from seventeen. falsetto is less taxing for most singers and the heavily technical belting portions are usually allocated to one or two specific people 90% of the time.
@4:17 that Chen clip is from Tipsy live. he literally is drinking on the show. he said that he doesn't sound good when he's tipsy but that's a lie! 😂 @6:20 i think that was when Suho went to Italy & did his ig live. he even filmed a rat passing/swimming by 😂😂 @16:38 xiumin was doing a show with his idol Changmin from TVXQ. not sure if it's a radio show though i don't remember. @24:10 they have a manager who drives for them when they have schedules. they did that vlive when they were going to dinner. i don't think they were allowed to drive to avoid accidents. @30:25 that's a group dinner after their concert/ year end party. @31:09 it has been that way since the beginning of kpop. like idols in jpop too. they are put in a pedestal & are expected to be always perfect. believe it or not, the situation is a bit better than before. @38:09 baekhyun loves to do a live mukbang. because he said it feels like he's eating with the fans. he was eating sushi, pasta & i think rice cakes
36:22 It's not that it's a mini concert as such, he's just given it that name because he's singing a piece of all his songs from the first album for fans of a social network and if you don't hear background noise it's because he was probably alone at home singing with his mobile, as he didn't make a live presentation of the album he wanted to give away those pieces of his songs his fans for bubble...
Actually, D.O. is singing his drama's OST, Cherry Blossom love song. He's reading the lyrics because Chen originally sung the OST of 100 Days my Prince.
Baekhyun clips with mask were during pandemic he was not allowed to take mask off even outside away from others he still wanted to communicate with fans so he did lives to interact with fans and he still sounded amazing even with mask
during pandemic in my country we had to wear masks even when we are in our own cars. So Baekhyun i suppose was just following the rules that time in Korea.
13:50 He's singing with mask on because he's taking a walk along Han River and don't want to be recognized. You know baekhyun, whatever he's doing, he can't help but to sing. ❤❤❤
That could be a secondary reason, but the main reason why Baekhyun has a mask on was because it was during the pandemic and literally everyone was required to wear a mask when they were in public. He was walking along the Han River where there were a lot of other people, so he had to wear a mask. He literally could have gotten in legal trouble, or at the very least caused a huge scandal, if he wasn't wearing a mask at that time because it was a national rule that everyone had to wear a mask in public. I mean they all wore masks whenever they did anything, including during dance practices. I mean for 2 years we almost never saw an idol outside of their home not wearing a mask and that had nothing to do with them wanting to hide their face.
The song D.O. was singing was pronounced, "If U Leave" (i.e. "If You Leave"). "ifuleave" is a song originally by the American artist Musiq Soulchild and it features Mary J. Blige.
It's normal for east asians to wear mask actually. They do this way before Covid happened. Mask is also a thing for idols because they don't want people to recognise them outside out of work hour.
Guys plz react to Exo Damage live. Also Sehun being Exo's baby, Just baekhyun things/or Baekhyun imitating king. They are all so much fun.and Thankyou guys for reacting to exo Love shot live at SBS. It is so iconic that idols went crazy for Kai and he was only 24 years old. Now so many idols want to perform in that styke Btw i recently came to know that Kai was given the title of Asia's First Love. I can why. As someone in Japan said, Korea is too small for a performer like Kai. There was a fan who quoted the whole statement and it was so inspiring as well as i felt bad bcz SM never Valued them infact Taemin too like they are doing it for Aespa now. Honestly SM found Gems and so balanced dancers like Taemin, Kai,Lay, Ten who never danced overly to show that smoothness does not mean overly done moves. They are highly graceful and keep balance in dance moves which makes it more difficult.
Most kpop idols use falsetto simply due to having limited range. It is easier to reach the note with flasetto than do a mix belt or pure head voice. Not many male idols has a decently developed head voice compared female idols, and on the other hand not many female idols has a developed lower register. This is also to avoid strain in their vocals

As a Burmese, i grew up with EXO's songs and EXO is the only kpop group i love for over a decade now ( D.O. 경수 is my bias btw )
