Those boxes are available in UP Los Banos, from local beekeepers and carpenter shops. You can find them in beekeeping groups.
Hello sir Sam, I’m studying the Apis queen rearing and creation of Apis queen cells. As you are aware, this is done to build additional colonies in the bee yard or to sell NUC colonies. Like casting queen cups for Apis bees, is it possible to do a similar trick to produce stingless queens. I’ve found one TH-cam video from India but I do not speak Hindi or any of the other dialects from the Muslim parts of India. If your research has information on this or other like method, to stimulate the making of Tetragonula queens to build new hives, I’d bee most interested.
We have no problem in producing queen for stingless bees. Mature colonies produce several queen cells. I have seen seven queen cells in a single colony. Once the queen dies, they automatically produce new queen. When you split a mature colony, they will easily produce a new queen for the other colony.

Yes po. Nasa loob po ang brood. Dapat ay brood lang ang ilalagay. Aalisin lahat ng original cover ng colony. Clean transfer ang tawag. But in this case ay hindi inalis lahat ng original cover nila dahil malapit na ang tag-ulan. Para mabilis silang maka recover. Kailangan nilang mabalot kaagad ng layer ng propolis to regulate temperature para di mamatay ang brood. Hindi ako nag clean transfer sa isang iyan para kaunti lang ang babalutin nila to secure the temperature quickly at maka recover sila at the soonest time possible.
Kung galing po sa medyo malayong gubat ang feral colony sir, di po ba ito makaka apekto sa pag lipat sa box? At ilang araw po bago mailipat sa box? Nakita ko po rin sir doon sa isa nyong video na yung isang bee keeper na mabilis mag lipat ng feral colony sa box ay di nya masyadong nililinis ang feral colony at napaka bilis nyang mag lipat sa box, sa inyo pong obserbasyon, ok lang po ba na may konteng unwanted na mga dumi kung ilipat sya ng ganun? Maraming salamat po sa walang sawang pag sagot sa aking mga katanungan sir, mabuhay po kayo.
Ang ideal ay clean transfer. Aalisin lahat ng debris. Brood lang ang ititira. On the other hand, minsan ay kailangang gawin ang ganung paraan ng pag transfer (yung mabilis) kapag palapit na ang rainy season para mabilis nilang mabalot ang brood dahil halos wala o konti lang ang nabawas sa nest nila. Mas mabilis nilang maseselyuhan ang gaps para ma maintain ang temperature sa brood chamber para maka recover sila ng mas mabilis.
Kailangan ng bees ang two weeks adjustment period bago ilipat sa box para maging familiar sila sa paligid at malaman nila ang kukuhanan ng pagkain at propolis. Kailangan nila ito para mabilis silang maka recover.
May epekto kapag kinuha sa gubat ang feral colony. Kapag umaga kinuha, kalahati ng foraging bee ay nasa labas para kumuha ng pagkain. Kapag hapon kinuha ay less ang nasa labas dahil uwian na nila iyon. Pero yung mga lumabas dahil sa pagka istorbo sa kanila dahil sa pagkuha ng kanilang bahay ay maiiwan na din. Yun ang isang dahilan king bakit kailangan silang bigyan ng adjustment period bago sila ilipat sa box.
