Horten H XVIII "the Amerika Bomber" - E-Jet Meeting Nordhausen 2017

Die Horten H XVIII wurde von Raimund Sonst vorgeflogen. Das luft46 Projekt wurde für einen Langstrecken-Schnellbomber mit 800Km/h Fluggeschwindigkeit, 4000Kilometer Reichweite und 4000Kg Nutzlast konzipiert.

Was the spiral dive intentional? It surprised me and made me wonder if the model does't meet the Prandtl spanwise lift distribution curve required to counter adverse yaw. Really appreciate that people a building the Horten designs these days. Well done!

Complement your cameraman/women! Then view the video on the Arado 555 and see how not to do it! Not too long into it the video goes out of focus and you really can't tell what you're looking at. Yours is very clear and very interesting to watch. I've been trying to find one about a scale model of this concept plane and finally found this. My only complaint and it's very minor one, is that your model isn't a true jet version. Watch as you turned off the motors I thought it was going to crash till you restarted them and easily recovered. As I said, it a very interesting video. In a way it's too bad the Horton brothers didn't have motors and engines this small to test their concepts on. They might just've been able to convince the German government of the time of how superior their planes were. Thank you for taking the time to build this model and prove it could've flown.

Got me on this one.
My first love is the
ME 163C model.
For she tops all in the air.
But, Horton's HO-18/229
Rocks it. Have an Me163 on top of each wing of a HO-18 would work to go on to more cities, like Boston & DC at the same time, NY, Boston & DC.
