Thank you for putting this on you tube. My dad and grandad are both on the film. Rorys grandad was a kind and lovely person. Brought back memories for me. I was 10 when this was made.THANK YOU xx
Really enjoyed this film . Great images brought alive with the commentary, thanks for sharing. My dad used to work in a chocolate factory in London in late 50-60s. I was told great stories as a kid , and this film has giving me a amazing insight/reality. Thanks.
An interesting look back at manufacturing processes from yesteryear which will never be seen again. Everything seemed so light hearted but then the accountants started looking at profitability and cost saving measures hence Frampton was closed. Now Kraft have purchased Cadbury's perhaps Bourneville will face the same outcome one day. Cheers Malcolm
A mate went to work down south in the early 70s he worked at the Mars bar factory , he said they were encoraged you to eat as many as you liked , said he cannot look at one without feeling sick lol .
Thrilled to see this film, but a little sad not to see my Dad, Francis Rieger of Leonard Stanley, worked in Frampton from early 1970's until it's closure and beyond. He initially worked in the factory, so I recognise some of the names in the film, but due to a hip replacement (I remember him once falling on the very clean wet floor and really hurting himself), the factory work became too physically demanding, so he then became a groundsman, maintaining the gardens and property. My brother, Nick and I as kids, loved visiting the factory and used to fill our pockets (and duffle coat hood) with the chocolate rejects from the big drums. But best of all was the 'rough chocolate' which was one of the processes of the making, where the raw ingredients or crumbs where formed into big slabs, as hard as rock, but was delicious and pure...easy to break your teeth on! Oh I wish I could go back 50 years and taste it again! Thank you for this wonderful memory. RIP Roy.
@@trevsblog A big thank you Trev. Without you bringing it to TH-cam I and many others would never have seen it. I hope this is ok, but I've added your link to the current Cadbury's 2020 Facebook advert 'Go Madbury' - Be our next inventor! It's one of a few adverts they're currently running with the 'mad male inventing chocolate'
