@D3L3T3 most nba fans are clueless just rum with narratives instead of actually watching. Kobe averaged 7 assists in the 09 finals but didn't pass lol. And he played in a triangle offence. If he played today with the ball in his hands all game he'd get more assists.

Shaq was an absolute liability in the clutch. He couldn't touch the ball for more than a few seconds at a time. Kobe carried that team through the West and kept the whole team fed while playing top defense.

I saw him live for team USA in 2007 playing in Vegas for FIBA. And he looked different than all stars, he shinned the brightest, his intensity in defense was palpable, his command evident. Kidd and LeBron were the other de facto leaders. Dwight was a monster at the time, in his prime, reminiscent of young Shaq. Surprisingly, LeBron appeared to be as big as Dwight, confusing me several times and leaving me in awe at LeBron’s athleticism and size. He was and is, a physical specimen. But nobody in a room full of star including Wade and Melo, shinned brighter than Mr. Bean. 🙏

No other player has been compared to Michael Jordan as harshly as Kobe Bryant throughout his career.
One of the reasons for this is that in addition to their track record and charisma, they have many similarities in terms of position, playing style, physique, and a strong dislike of losing.

I wish more NBA video's were like this. I like seeing more than just highlight reels. I like to see missed shots, tough plays, second chance points, and defensive plays in order to have more context. There are far too many highlight reels out there of everyones best plays, and not enough game film being condensed, or summarized through good editting to give more context to what was happening in those games. I don't always want to watch a full game, and this style of video is the next best thing, especially when watching games from the past.

You can see the evolution of his game here.
From '99 - '13 he was always a great player and one of the best in the game - Hell, for the vast majority of that time, he was THE best in the game.
But you could see the skill, the execution, and the processing behind them steadily improving - Looking more and more polished and refined each time.
He went from an elite-level street baller who relied mostly on his superior athleticism, agility, and physical ability but whose game was still a bit rough around the edges to the cold-blooded assassin who had complete mastery of the game and could kill you w/ his mind and superior IQ even more than his physical ability.

For all the players and people in the world saying that the NBA is right now we just remember LeBron James has played 13 or 14 years worth of Kobe‘s career while Kobe was still in the league so if it was weak for LeBron, then it’s weak for Kobe as well. You can’t be a walking contradiction.

whats crazy is how much COACHED fear Kobe. You see their faces on the sideline after he has a power finish and they are literally demoralized.

Insane how in just a few short years noone remembers how to view greatness. A stupid goat debate and a more stupid longevity "factor" have not helped. Literally being a one of a kind specialist is frowned upon now. Fuck the new nba.

Look at the entire team play defense. This Laker team would completely obliterate todays league. 78-4
