      In Eritrea we call the hot pan a magogo and almost none of the finished products were correct. The batter is poured outside in and we wait until bubbles appear on the surface then cover. After a few moments we see if it has cooked through and we slide the meshrafet under and let cool on the stack. Each piece is soft. Nothing crunchy. It would not be rolled until it cools, if at all. Usually it is stored flat.

    As a South African, I am embarrassed and don't know what injera is 😒.
    Also they could've had an Ethiopian guest judge to explain it better to the contestants.

    I don't like the way the contestants talk about injera...it's not really an "acquired taste", unless you're a picky five year old. And they're told pretty clear instructions on how to do it, but they don't follow any of the advice and then complain it's too difficult. Also wish they'd stop comparing it to pancakes, it's a flat bread for goodness sake

    • @frenchwaltz0
      @frenchwaltz0 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly the reason they pour it wrong is because they think it’ll spread like a pancake

    Omg! That was funny to watch, I'm eating injera right now. If you know how to make pancakes, you know how to make injera. They made fry injera, lol. At least now they know where is ethiopa and what is injera😢 😢😢😢😢many people don't know what is injera and that's ok. This was very educational for many. Many people know Ethiopia l from our great runners 🏃‍♀️ but we also have a beautiful culture. ❤❤❤
