Hey mate, we used the oem splits, they're pretty good. We upgraded trebles to either Mustad saltisms 2/0 or Gamakatsu XH 2/0. We're heading back in 23 too. ✌
@@bruxner lol easy to see why, what an adventure! I haven’t set foot on PNG but can’t wait for 23 and I’m already looking at the Calender for 24! Everyone and anyone whose fished for them with Barra as bycatch, along with other species in the rivers as well. I’m headed to a Liveaboard near New Britain (?) and doing a 50/50 or whatever we decide to fish for Black Bass and/or Bluewater chasing GTs, Doggies etc and are going to new Rivers that only Local PNG people have rights too and is untouched by any Tourism, that will be an eye opener for sure! Got a Dozen or more of the same coloured 130 Tango Shad’s, hoping the Fat Betty comes to fruition as first advertised with the other colours also, plus a boat load of Zerek Barra X amongst others. Upgraded all to BKK Raptor Z and Splits to suit. You guys going with the same Company again?
Yeah mate were going a couple of times. Prob November with Baia sports fishing. Lake Murray again in june. Be sure to take some Bone hoverjet 130s with you to Baia. They go off on the Spot Tail Bass. Just Becareful of the Raptor Z, very brittle....
@@bruxner cheers mate, noted. Yeah I’ve got a fair few of the Bone Hoverjets, awesome action and versatile in what they can do. One set up is the ATC Combat on a Bone Black River, couple of Venoms and 8kg Blades n Tails. Yeah ok, I’m going with Outside Edge Adventures, they do Baia also. Was going to go with a couple of fellas staying a Baia to make up the numbers in March, but now doing the Liveaboard with Nathan Reardon and a few of his mates in late October/November. Can’t bloody wait. Was that close to calling Nathan back and saying I’ll take both! I reckon I’ve watched, read and heard everything that mentions Black Bass! A bloke I asked what it was like, his response was all time “ Imagine a 35kg Kingfish strike then hooking onto an old F100 doing the tonne!” Had me instantly!
the strike is cool .... the fish are big and big ... the sensation of the strike is really exciting .... always best regards from Bangka Belitung Indonesia
There is mate, if the water is a little bit lower. We tried casting some snags everyday but couldn't get them to bite. Soon as you trolled over them, bang! Funny critters.

Lake Murray is PNGs largest lake and is very isolated away from people......fish population and growth is undisturbed
