Beautiful, stark scenery at various points along the route. Those rock garden sections would reward having a lighter bike, no doubt. Jelly that you had the time to do those BDRs back to back to back.
My buddy on his 1200 wished he had his 800 available for the trip. The DR650 was pretty perfect, though I would have enjoyed smaller still. I’m jealous of me now too… how do I make that happen again… 😉🧐
Gosh, even an 800 seems like overkill considering how many miles are off-road and the traction is sketchy. I'm inclined to keep my bike choice to 400 pounds w/ fuel then add the camping gear for my sense of confidence. Whatever bike can fit that magic number is what I'd aim for. From what I've read on comments, no one wishes they had a bigger, heavier bike on either the TAT or a BDR. Thanks for posting your adventures!
@@osimnod I agree completely... I've taken a few long trips on my xt250, paved and unpaved... 270ish lbs before loaded up... what a nimble dream... I rarely fall (well, usually once per BDR, always going close to zero mph... the attack of the slowmentum!), but if I do it's nice knowing I can pick it up with my pinky finger. 🤠
Really nice videos ! Thank you for sharing !😊
