Actually when I was trip to newyork. Lincoln IMAX show Alligiant not full screen. It was look like window. so laser project renovation is very good news.
I saw it opening weekend on standard at kabuki then imax this week. Get seats in the middle ish, around f or a couple higher. Thats the spot where u can only see the screen and it feels like imax. Far in the back ruins it
@@JoshuaTsopanarias Actually, that's the thing about IMAX-only a few portion of the film is shot in the full 1.43 aspect ratio, which although might sound counter-intuitive, adds to the artistic feel of the movie. Like especially in movies like Interstellar and First Man, the aspect ratio switches to the tall one on special scenes which really adds to the experience. Unfortunately, I never got the chance to experience Interstellar on IMAX. Hope you have an amazing birthday and a wonderful IMAX experience.
IMAX hall size at tgv cinemas in central i-city (Malaysia) kinda looks like the half of Lincoln Squares’s IMAX hall in my opinion and its a real imax screen
Nope. Most of the IMAX screens are fake. They're only called IMAX because they have the same quality and sound of IMAX. However, the screen could be any size. The one in Manhattan is the only true IMAX screen in New York City.

Have you seen IMAX Laser it has a real good picture but like you said everything is lieamax film is gone its sad but Laser is a good replacement. The AMC in San Francisco shows IMAX 15/70 film once a year they have Laser and 15/70 Projectors i go there twice a year for Laser and film if its showing.

I saw Amazing Spider-Man 1 in this theater when my family visited NY about a decade ago. Wish I could go back just to experience this IMAX again.

The average IMAX 15/70 screen size is 50 feet tall by 70 feet wide. Going from that to this is mind-blowing.

Great theater but why is the video on the screen windowboxed? They could have easily expanded it to fit more of the screen.
feature film = fit and full screen
commercial = windowboxed
I guess they use different projectors

No, it immerses you more in a good way. It completely fills your peripheral vision.
