I agree! I remember going on a grade 6 field trip with this theatre and tech being BRAND NEW. I loved the flex then and I still love it to this day. Cineplex and IMAX should do something similar. I used to think nostalgia was BS but I got really excited to watching this video and remembering how it felt when I saw it as a kid 😅😅😅😭
I once found the 5.1 ac3 file of this online years ago. Downloaded it and patch it with this video. Man everytime I'm about to play a new movie. I'd add this as intro in my home theater. My family and friends gets a hell of presentation in my 4000watts rms HT. Good times shared together is the best life medicine 👍🏻
If you wear a headset for this video, you'll get greatest experience of the sound and music it has. In one part it tell where to listen, it will be surround sound. So I think who is going to watch this, get a headset and wear it. It's perfect when you have the volume on high, but beware when you put the volume all the way up (only when you want to). For me I love it loud. It's your choice and yours alone.

Some of their theatres still have the 1570 projectors in place and may be running the film. If this is the case, you might have the chance to see this again...

I was able to obtain the audio track (via cell phone recording) when I was running Dunkirk on IMAX film at Colossus Vaughan just this past Summer. All the lasers and most equipment is still there, however all the lines have been severed by Cineplex. I considered obtaining 2 different audio tracks (for 2 different laser shows) but they wouldn't load on the computer, so I was only able to obtain this one. I would run it as an audio check after the audio channel ID check...hopefully I'll get the chance to run IMAX film again in the future...

This video is awesome, thanks for posting it. I only have a LieMAX theater close to me, but the sound system is fantastic and it's still better than a normal theater screen. I wish they played a demo like this before the movie. I'd love to hear this in surround one day. Although this stereo version still makes my wife mad because I blast it. IMAX should release this and their other trailers on a demo bluray, they'd have home theater nuts buying them up.

Did he say, "Welcome to the Famous Players IMAX Theatre at Colossus," in Vaughan and Langley? Most notably, would he say "Welcome to the Famous Players IMAX Theatre at the Paramount" in Toronto, Montreal and Calgary? Please let me know.

LieMAX is when they fake an IMAX experience by getting rid of a few rows of seats and attempting to shove a giant screen into an already existing auditorium built within a large multiplex of some sort. AMC does that all the time. It's just not the same as the mighty six-storey tall behemoth that we knew and loved from going out to the tourist attractions, science museums, and multiplexes which had a built-in IMAX or another brand of large-format theatre in the late 90s and early 2000s.

Just saw Oppenheimer on IMAX 70mm. The laser preshow was _sorely_ missed for this showing in particular.

I don't remember SilverCity Gloucester announcing the specific cinema name. It was simply a Famous Players light show.
