I find this very relaxing. I think it’s maybe one of my favourite pieces of music ever, and it certainly makes me picture the empty, misty deck of a ghost ship pulling into harbour and the townsfolk recoiling in disbelief of such a sight!
i don't listen to music when I sleep, but I often work to it as it gets dark, sometimes late at night in my studio. It is very good for that! @@Rumblemach
I love the ambiguity in the details of salt Marie Celeste, it really lets your imagination run free. One point it sounds like a rescue crew discovering a ghost ship, the next a descent into hell using a pulley system elevator, an abandoned town, a forest lathered with mist and populated by disfigured animals, a black hole tearing the stardust from a nearby star, a room slowly shrinking to the point of extreme claustrophobia, or a diver descending into the deep sea knowing the the water pressure will never let him back to safety, and so on. However that means this masterpiece is limited by ones imagination, but its surely a surreal and haunting album nevertheless

I'm fairly certain that I remember hearing this on my neighbor's porch on Halloween as I was trick or treating.
This would be totally appropriate. My brother actually found the Halloween sound effects record that the creaking floorboard is sampled from.
