    I've had the 20i for three years, what can I say, it's just sensational. I've been a Dynaudio fan for 32 years and have only had Dynaudio since then.

    Very happy to see your Nordic Silver finish and that it has a satin top coat versus high gloss. I've love the Special 40's in Grey that I have (and would love them more so if the top coat were satin). It seems difficult for speaker manufacturers in general to stray away from piano high gloss black or high gloss white or other solid colors in high gloss. There are some homes that have high gloss furnishings, yet most of us live in homes where the sheen of our walls, floors and furniture are not high gloss. The high gloss, while revealing the perfect surface prep needed to showcase such a shine when done well, is impractical in that is so easily shows fingerprints and the bumps and knocks from living everyday life, not to mention cleaning such a shine is tricky to keep from scratching it. A satin top coat over black, white or grey, in the case of the Nordic Silver finish, is more appealing to many eyes. Today there are luxury cars being made with flat sheen paints, so I don't think I am an outlier in my personal preferences here. I hope we see more satin finishes from speaker manufacturers in the future. Kudos to you Dynaudio, well done!

      Many thanks for your comments on the Nordic Silver finish, we'll take your feedback into consideration :)
      There's always been a big debate about design vs sound in the loudspeaker world. Some people say sound is the most important, and design should not interfere with that. What do you think?

      @@dynaudio Even if you did create an awesome sounding speaker and in its development phase the enclosure looked like a vegetable crate, you'd probably figure out a way to keep it sounding just as good, but within a modified enclosure that was aesthetically pleasing. It's a complete package. I don't envy your designers. Home decor can be just about everything under the sun and "tastes" are all over the map. Some speakers look like they are screaming "Look at me" and some can look like they blend in beautifully with a decent range of home decors. Of course a speaker needs to sound great first, but if it looks like it belongs on the Mars Rover, it's limited in appeal to the consumer. I'm suggesting as a start that you consider a less glossy sheen option for any standard black (or dark) opaque pigmented finish on your speakers. Most all paints start off as "gloss" and then flatteners are added to dial back the sheen. I think we are seeing more satin clear top coats on wood veneer these days with the comeback of the "vintage" look speakers from decades ago. A really nice satin finish on wood is inviting to the eye and hand. As for subwoofers, there are so many that have high gloss black finishes. A big black cube in a room looks out of place enough as far as furnishings go. A high gloss black cube looks all the more out of place in most home decors imho. The majority of amps and sources, whether plastic or metal cases are NOT gloss in sheen, but satin. Why are speakers typically "high shine", with no choice of a less glossy finish for the consumer?
      (Sorry for prattling on, you asked what I thought :)

    I currently have an entire Contour surround sound system from 60i to in wall and in ceiling. The only issue is there is not a clean upgrade path to Confidence line because their is no center channel speaker... can you guys please give a center channel and this gorgeous Nordic Silver finish in your high end line?? Thank you!
    Also some amazing partnership with REL subwoofers to have some grand woofers would be awesome!!

    thank you sir very much

    • @dynaudio
      @dynaudio  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, thanks for your question.
      Rooms are different, and besides the room itself the placement of the speakers are also quite important for how the speakers will load the room.
      In general we would not expect it to be an issue in a 3x5 meter room, however some rooms have more prominent room modes than others.
      The dimensions are good in the sense that you do not have dimensions that “add up” (for instance, 4x4 is much worse than 3x5), so there should be a pretty good chance that it will work well.
      Hope this helps :)

    I would like to upgrade my 15 years old Focus 220 speakers. I have a Accuphase E270 amplifier and my listening room is about 32m2. Would the Countour 30i be a good choice?

    • @dynaudio
      @dynaudio  ปีที่แล้ว

      Contour 30i could definitely be said to be a similar type of speaker with upgraded components, so the short answer is yes! 🎵

    • @mariusrobin55
      @mariusrobin55 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dont chance the speakers. Chance the amp! There is almost no worse combination then dynaudio and accuphase.
      I heard plenty of those combos.
      A dynaudio need an amp with power and a high damping factor to get the 75mm voicecoil under Control.
      Just Look out for a hegel or atoll.
      A hegel is the perfect Match!

    Augmented by two subs, my contour 20’s are great for well recorded music, but I desire more body/fullness in the lower mids, especially for dialog in tv and movies. Is there another Dynaudio speaker (current/older) I should be looking at instead? Thanks!

    • @dynaudio
      @dynaudio  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      We don't believe this is an area where the Contour 20’s are lacking. Perhaps the Confidence 20 would do better, but barring that, you would also need to look at setup/placement :)
