Top notch 'Honk' placement. 7/10. 😂
what do the Honk means
@@lankymario7189 it honks
First time I’ve ever felt compelled to comment “best honk” and this comment is top. It was a good honk I agree
@3:30 I don't fault Kyle because he doesn't play visual novels. But Famicom Detective Club's animation is actually an impressive cut above the rest in regards to 2D mesh style animations! My wife and I were impressed with the character rigs having a lot of articulation and even redrawn body assets. I'm actually excited to see them not be as economized as most 2D visual novels.
Totally agree!
crazy to think that i could have released Resident Evil 7 on iPhone and not paid off my student loan with the profits
The new Famicom detective club games are legit sick. They are very unique compared to other adventure games the art is stunning the animations are good too im so excited!!!
I'm planning on getting the first next month, but I am curious: Is it kind of point and click adventure styled akin to Ace Attorney, or more like a standard visual novel?
@@TheMarioman121 I’d say it feels more involved over a VN closer to ace attorney but it still feels different from that though it’s a mix of investigations and using your clues to talk to people and get more info from the situation. So it’s a unique blend of both
getting a new famicom dectective club is mindblowing
I'm nominating this honk for the Best Honk Awards.
That Splitgate comic app was something special. A stylized car crash...
That cringe at 15:46 hits so hard
That Splitgate app is so unbelievably hilarious and dorky but they're so adorably earnest about wanting to build something I honestly have to respect their Icarus-level ambition.
Man, no, I certainly dont. Like, 'dorky' isn't the right word, it's just painfully bad. It's 'Hello fellow kids' level of out of touch nonsense. 'Earnest' is also not the right word. It's quite the opposite of earnest, it's slimy and pathetic. Like watching your 45 year old uncle hit on the 18 year old waitress at a restaurant. Like, just stop it. It's embarrassing to witness and it's never going to actually work.
Splitgate 2 seems like such an obvious example of over ambition and early success going to someone’s head. I give it a few months before it shuts down.
Yes, I also remember The Culling 2.
Duke Nukem Forever tried to teach us all...
Yep. The original succeeded by NOT being a hero shooter but harkening back to the days of arena shooters and so they picked up an audience starved for that action that is absent in today's games. Now, they're just a clone of everything else that's popular while managing to alienate players like me still looking for an arena shooter outlet. I predict less than a year before shutdown.
This is exactly how I feel. Thanks for articulating it so well.
I mean if they change what made the first one good sure, but I'm still excited for it
By visual novel standards, that animation was actually quite nice.
If u play visual novels, u have no standards
@@70smebbin Too much reading for a tik-tok brain?
@@70smebbin If you are you, your parents have no standards.
I found this channel through the "trying not to regret buying a psvr2" suggestion, been binging every delayed input (saving the FFVII-rebirth video until I beat it, really taking my time with it lol) and just wanna say, Thanks for the awesome videos. Looking forward to all the new uploads coming up :)
Kyle is definitely gonna get really into Splitgate 2 and then make a big deal about uninstalling it and then reinstall it and play it secretly except that he will still tell everyone he is secretly playing it, and I look forward to that
I thought Splitgate got popular in the first place for being a simple shooter that hearkens back to the early 2000s with a twist (portals). Have no idea what the thought process was behind making it look like every class based generic shooter ever.
Because decisions like these come from out-of-touch and clueless execs at the top. If you're extra unlucky that's the studio owner/director. Let me tell you from experience, that's not a fun ride to be on as a dev.
Yeah I’m so sad about that… splitgate is probably my favorite multiplayer game to come out in the last few years, and all the changes seem like they’re sapping what made it fun. Hopefully Splitgate 1 stays live so I can keep playing that
money
I can't wait to see what next season's shirts are gonna be. Baby Yoda polos? Grandma sweaters? Vintage 90s NASCAR t-shirts? The anticipation is killing me!
PORGS. Nothing-but.
I'm waiting for the Cosplay / Fursuit season
I'm waiting for the suit season. Fatsuit, muscle suit, pregnancy suit...
The immediate pause on the first sentence of the comic 😭😭
i miss seeing the word "ARSEQUEEF" in big letters at the end of every episode
My high school’s slogan was “success is a choice” and I did graduate so basically I’m ready for splitgate 2 looks fine
Kyle doing more to sell the Splitgate app than Splitgate.
I gotta get me some cards, now.
Split gate 1 was at the right place at the right time since Halo Infinite was delayed to 2021 and people were craving it
Sakamoto was cooking. The ending of Emio was WILD.
Shining shirts will be missed 🫡
shiny waistcoat is a revolution, not an evolution
shiny shirt season was off the fuckin chain dude
It's 4am, I should be asleep, but a new Kyle video has dropped and I've lost control of my life.
same... 5:24 AM here now
Having trouble falling asleep? No worries, this comic WILL put you to sleep!!
Did not expect to see former EIC of IGN, Hilary Goldstein writing random game content. 😅
10/10 horn placement 😂
So interesting to see Sakamoto try something different than Metroid after so many years, he really seemed to want to hear what people though of his story. Also Splitgate 2 sounds cool, never heard of it before this vid but kidna wanna check it out. Halo with portals in Unreal 5? Dope.
When Kyle switches seasons, what happens to his shirts? Is his closet just bursting to capacity? Does he donate the excess shirts to charity? Does... Does he eat the shirts? ... and if he does, does he use ketchup? So many questions
Honk of the year, we feeding on honks for real 🦆
I'm not sure if I laughed harder at the honk or the smirk....
Really appreciated the finale budget increase for some portal quiz foley work
Concord just happened and is currently still attempting to happen, and now we have Splitgate 2 as yet another live-service shooter with no sauce. That entire app was a charisma vacuum, and even so you could see it coming from the CG trailer and interview, it's rare that most of us actually take the full brunt of one of these games' cringe. I feel so bad for all of the Splitgate fans.
Worst part about Concord is that the game is really good, really pretty and really fun.
If only they had advertised the game itself and not some CG Marvel comedy nobody cares about.
Splitgate 2's logo is exactly what you'd expect a game logo from a studio bought by a crypto/NFT company to look like.
EDIT: They were not bought, sorry, they worked with the crypto company to integrate bitcoin directly into the game. Same point though.
Wait that's true? Dang. I like the idea of Splitgate, but I suddenly have zero interest if they have any connection to crypto/NFT stuff.
@@PandaJerk007Im a dumbass. They weren't BOUGHT by the NFT company, THEY were the company straight up integrating bitcoin rewards into their game!
That was a few years ago, and definitely wasn’t in your face or anything. Splitgate was fun, the most “halo 3” feeling game that wasn’t halo I’ve ever played, and the portal system was a pretty rad concept.
I’d wait and see how SG2 is received before deciding that you just won’t play it, at least if you were into halo at all back in the day :)
@@redomagnus4762 Yeah Im personally more just making fun of the logo than anything else.
Gaming doesn't deserve Kyle Bosman.
The AI art in the Splitgate app ice the icing on the cake
those are just stock images
@@masterowl12313:12 pretty sure these ones are ai
Those are absolutely ai yeah
I'm a new subscriber, but damn the videos are very few and far between. I love this man i want him to talk to me about dumb stuff more often
The famicom detective club remakes from 2 years already had higher production value than the vast majority of Visual Novels with 2D arts. Considering Emio is bigger in file size than both remakes combined, it's safe to say it got a bigger budget and will therefore end up with an even higher production value. For that reason alone, it would absolutely stand out among the rest.
I also disagree on Sakamoto's writing skills. The only bad story he made was Other M.
Sakamoto was also the writer of famously good video game story Metroid Other M.
Yeah, I'm just hoping Sakamoto gets us a Dread 2 or something.
He was the writer of the original Famicom Detective Club games which later inspired Ace Attorney, and many other VNs and detective games.
He also wrote one of the first ever dating sims with Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi. Dunno if its good but yknow dudes got range.
Bosman can you do a Chipotle review next week
Alfa Elo. That straight up just sounds like it's from some random sci fi naming generator from 2014 that cost like 50 cents on the App Store.
How much time did Kyle spend looking just for the "perfect" dog for the "dog days of summer"?
I respect these stupid jokes.
Kyle's good heart almost makes me believe in big bugdet games again. 😌 (Almost.)
Positive.
Now do sporty and future.
Famicom Detective Club is a pretty classic series, so its definitely interesting to see them making a new one after all this time...but I haven't played the other 2 because I was jealous that Japan got a sick looking physical release and we got dicked over with digital only.
New games new games new games. Have we played all the good old ones already?
Have _You_ played Beglitched, Kyle? It's pretty good. It's pretty good, Kyle.
I've never laughed more at the honk.
You should do a comic reading for your in-between episode 😂
oh we riding - - we riding hard today!
Godspeed Kyle. I'll miss you pal enjoy your off season.
For context, the writer of that comic gave Sonic Unleashed a 4.5.
Emio is the reason why teases are rare. It makes people think anything is possible, only for them to be disappointed when its something else
The teaser for Emio got a lot of people talking about a game that they otherwise would have just ignored. Hard to imagine that Nintendo is disappointed by how this has gone.
People saw a guy wearing a paper bag on his head and literally thought "Xenoblade 3? Hollow Knight?"
@@mart8577 they did it as a joke
I still remember that TWEWY countdown that turned out to be... A soundtrack.
I think honestly it was a successful move cause it was the best possible way to generate interest around this release, during the Direct it would have been for sure overshadowed by Zelda, Metroid and other big announcements.
You should take a look at the Famicom detective club remakes already out, they're probably some of the prettiest visual novels out there. The producer also worked on and helped write the original two which, well they've got a phenomenal story.
Didn’t expect to hear Jewel when I clicked this notification
I've never realized how early these get uploaded until now.
I'm devastated. I thought shiny shirts was the future but learning it's just a phase... I'm not sure I'll ever fully recover 😭
This series is gold. I'm catching up on a few previous videos and then I'm excited to see new ones! (Also, people are cool in the comments section. I won't shit it up anymore thanks goodbye.)
The Splitgate app feels extremely 90s.
The comic was written by Hilary Goldstein!? Really? That was unexpected.
Me trying to achieve anything positive
Bosman "so, that's insane" 😂
13:36 your laugh when you find something so stupid are highlights of my life
New favorite post credits piece I think 🤣
Surprised Kyle isn’t dunking on Concord.
I won't be surprised if he plays it day one. I mean, he did play sudoku squad
@@doesntno he already uninstalled it after two matches
@@krontaar ah ok...well, he isn't the type of guy to put a game down. A game company, sure but not something a group of people did their best on with what they had.
He already did a few episodes back
Kyle I appreciate the Monday Night Combat reference.
the final shiny shirt was the most powerful
I predict next season will be neck ties season. Bow ties, clip-ons, maybe a bolo or two.
I can't with this week's shirt and his body language in the opening bit 😅
cant wait for next season's theme. so hyped.
Oh boi did they go ALL OUT on the animation!
Nothing makes me feel the passage of time so acutely as another end to a season of delayed input
The kyle bosman 3 week breaks are always the hardest parts of the year
Having a lot of fun with the Concord beta. I'd love to see Kyle give all the characters two sentence reviews like he did for the Splitgate "coverboy."
As someone who played Splitgate, Splitgate 2 doesn't look appealing. Maybe I'll try it but it just looks same-y.
Goodbye shiny Kyle 😢
Here for the jewel refrences
the honk placement killed me, brilliant stuff
Truly perfect honk timing on this one, fam
Delayed Input will now be delayed until a new sparkly shirt supplier can be found.
Look around you ... We're in the dog days.
Splitgate 2 giving serious Box Peek vibes
I totally get it but tbh as far as anime-looking-visual-novels go the recent remakes of Famicom Detective Club 1 & 2 (at least in the trailer) had a lot of animation going on that added a lot of life to otherwise typical still scenes. Also why both these dog day games purple??
Yes Kyle 28K it's still a lot of money
That look at 4:99 says _so much_ with so litttle
Masterful
Fantastic dog
Does anyone remember the first hero shooter? It was shadowrun on the360. It failed miserably because they chose the wrong name.
Kyle you need to stand down. Famicom Detective Club is amazing. The visuals and animations are next level for the genre. Check out video of the remakes they released in 2021. Also, Sakimoto was part of the original development team 30 years ago. They are very well written and put together stories, in fact. Stand down!
Damn, and here I am, a loser, with no wife while the winners get all the wives.
Anyone know that song that plays during the "I respect these stupid games" text it sounds familiar but can't quite remember
Transformers bumblebee theme
Splitgate 2 story mode looks enticing
Kyle looks exceptionally good this episode.
Which era is this?
Ok... The honk got me 😂😂
You the Bos of our hearts ❤
Hilary goldstein wrote that comic ?? He used to work for ign back in the day haha
I’m eating lunch while watching this and that honk made me spit out my drink in the restaurant. Well done sir.
I don't get the hate for Metroid Dread's writing. Because you predicted a twist it's supposed to be bad? It's cohesive and fits well into the established series.
Best horn yet.
I don't know how I should feel about the comic. Kyle's voices should be for the interactive version. Other than that, I have no clue and I'm sure the team doesn't either
Splitgate 2 will be a carcrash, I guarantee it.
have a good break kyle !
How many more of those multiplayer shooting/arena games do people need? I mean they do me no harm, but their overpresence in the media is a bit much.
4:02 lolol
Wow, luigis manshion 2 hd sponsored on youtube in the top right.
