My wii is finding the games.. But they won't start properly. Some restart the wii.. Some freeze. Error Check for multi game and region failed also. Could it be that my folders name does not have the game id in it?
You need Nintendont if you want to play your games from your backup files on the USB or SD card. You can still put disks in the console and play as normal.
i did this and it worked but capcom vs snk 2 crashes sometimes. I seen other people had the same issue but i couldn't find a solution. Must be my wii or my rom. I don't know about these specific games but there will always be some that the system has trouble running. The usual fixes are to check you've got all the cIOS updates installed and have a play with some of the game settings.

It sounds like it's not recognising the files as GameCube ISO files. I'd try downloading a file from somewhere else and checking if it can see that. Make sure you're downloading an iso or ciso file. Hope this helps.
In Nintendont you need to set the location of your files so it knows where to look. Also make sure that you've got the USB drive plugged into the right port (see the video). Only one usb port can be used.

Wii games run fine but GameCube games won’t run. When in usb loader I start the game and It puts me back in nintendont saying initializing memory card and nothing happens. I’m assuming something is going wrong with the memory card emulation because if I open nintedont and play the game from there it lets me but I get a message saying I have no memory card. How do I fix this? I’ve tried looking for some answers but I haven’t found one yet. Thanks for your videos! They were great very detailed loved it!
I fixed it. I did some research and found some github pages from people who had the same problem. Turns out there was a hidden file extension so nintendont was trying to read “game.iso.iso”. So just having it as “game” worked for me. The same thing applies if you skip the backup manager part, just name the file you got from nKit -> Processed as “game”. The video was a huge help and I would not have gotten as far as I did without it. For other people reading, I would recommend getting the backup manager anyway, as my memory card was third party and I’ve had some problems with corruption/losing my whole custom robo save; the card also caused the issue with being stuck on “Loading IOS58 Kernel”. If this happens, try taking it out before loading nintendont and then put it in when the game asks for it. If you’re curious: if you have it in booting up nintendont, it will get stuck but then if you take it out it will load, but when I did this the game wouldn’t load so just leave it out until the game asks for it. Also recommend typing your specific problem in the internet for this kind of stuff or making github/reddit/discord post, in that order.
I followed along on this video and other videos as well. I am running into two issues when trying to play game cube games. 1) When I run the game directly in Nintendont the game will load and get to the “select start” screen. I am using the classic wii controller and when I get to that screen nothing on the controller works and the 4 blue dots at the bottom are all lit up and nothing works. I am then forced to turn off the Wii. Do you have to have a usb controller/game cube controller in order to play these games? Or can you use the classic wii remote still? 2) I have the games in the USBloadergx. Then I select the game I want to play and all of a sudden after I click start my screen turns blue and says no signal. However I can hear the game running in the background. I have a hdmi adapter plugged in and my usb drive. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot these?
UPDATE: I got it to work just needed to plug in the nunchucks to the controller. However still having issues with #2. GC game works perfect in Nintendont but when i go over to USB Loader gx and try running the GC game screen turns off and says no signal but can hear the game running in background. Not sure how to stop this from happening???
There are a couple of settings in USBLoader for the video output. One is to do with the 480p fixes, some will be to do with the Nintendont setup. I'd try having a play around with those. It sounds very much like an incompatible HDMI output being triggered by USBLoader. Hope you get it working.

I cant Nintendont to run on usb loader gx the games appear and i followed the steps they just wont load i think its to do with the paths but i might be wrong can you help
Make sure you use the Gamecube backup manager to copy the game files to the usb drive. This should get everything set up correctly for you. Also make sure that Nintendont can see the games on the drive and play them without USBLoader. If that's all OK check the Nintendont settings in USBLoader to make sure it's talking correctly to Nintendont.

Hey I got some good news and bad news is the good news is the Wii is fully compatible with every single Nintendo GameCube game but the bad news is is not fully compatible with them all
Ah that explains why it wasn't working for me, my files were not named correctly. gcbm to the rescue hehe! But got another issue. When I run GCBM and let it download the database it crashes with an error 'Central Directory Corrupt'. If you look up this error it only points to some Visual Studio issues being reported on github but no solution and no one seems to have a clue what the error means or how to fix it. Seems it's a specific PC thing and works if run on another PC. In my case it appears only the downloading is not working so I searched and found the db file online and re-ran gcbm and it got past the issue and renames and moves my gc files. It allows you to play "backup files of your own games". Right. That's what people are doing. Not downloading them from the Internet. They've backed them all up themselves from their own personal collections for their own personal use.
The reason we all explain the legal route is that TH-cam gets angry if we encourage people to download copyrighted software. When they get angry they ban your channel. I myself got an official warning for just showing people where to get the software, so it is a real threat.

Or inside that folder there is a file called bootmii.ini. You can edit that file with notepad or similar, you just add the following linea to the end of the file.
AUTOBOOT=SYSMENU
Hello just wanted to say so far it’s working I got the games but while in the pc on the GCBM it only shows my Mario kart double dash game and not the others, the games r all unzipped just like Mario kart double dash too
It looks like it's not recognising the files. Try getting hold of another version of the game dump.
I found a problem, i did it in my own way before watching this video, making lots of partitions for my SSD cause i didnt know it was sort of possible to have a huge FAT32 drive, the NINTENDONT seems to not recognize the usb drive, i have no problems with the wii games, but i cant play the GCN games, seems like i need to delete the partitions that i dont use..
When you plug in the drive with multiple partitions the Wii will see it as multiple drives. It's probably getting confused.
hey dude, very clear, easy and simple walk through, but idk why my wii wont work. i have the gmaes but nothing opens
Make sure you've got all the cIOS updates installed. Have a look at th-cam.com/video/8RdwHT3C16E/w-d-xo.html
My wii is finding the games.. But they won't start properly. Some restart the wii.. Some freeze. Error Check for multi game and region failed also.
Could it be that my folders name does not have the game id in it?
Did you use the backup manager to create the game files. That puts everything in the right place.
@@BytesNBits I did not.. But they work when I put them on my SD card instead... So I guess it's the USB stick that Nintendont doesn't like..
the nintendont does work but i can't get it into usb loader...
Make sure you've got the right cIOS setup installed and check the USBLoader settings.
This is probably a stupid question but do you still need Nintendont if you have a earlier Wii that can already play Gamecube games?
You need Nintendont if you want to play your games from your backup files on the USB or SD card. You can still put disks in the console and play as normal.
i did this and it worked but capcom vs snk 2 crashes sometimes. I seen other people had the same issue but i couldn't find a solution. Must be my wii or my rom. Anyways it worked with capcom vs snk but when i tried loading up melee or double dash its just a black screen. I did everything that i did when doing this with cvs2 but i dont know what i did wrong. i cant find out why it doesnt load.
I don't know about these specific games but there will always be some that the system has trouble running. The usual fixes are to check you've got all the cIOS updates installed and have a play with some of the game settings.
When i ho to play GameCube on my wii the game loads but then the wiimote turns off so cant get into the game. How do i fix? Have nintendont and usb loader gx. Games appear and can scroll through them but as soon as i click on a game the blue light on the wiimote goes oit and i csnt nsvigste or select anything on screen.
Try plugging in a nunchuck to see if that helps. If not I think there are some settings in Nintendont to get it to ignore the controller type. Look for adaptive control or something similar.
@@BytesNBits I connected classic controller and same thing happens, when you click on the GameCube games the blue light on the Wii controller goes off and no buttons work so can't enter the game. I'll try numchuk next
@@tonygilchrist8156 That's a strange one. I use a classic controller which should work fine. Is your WiiMote an original or a third party version? Does it work OK with USBLoader Wii games.
@@BytesNBits yes works with Wii games no problems. It's not an original wiimote
What do you recommend on the space size for the USB used to store the games?
It really depends on how many games you'll want to play. I'd probably use at least a 64Gb drive. More if you can.
hey bob quick question here i have a external hard drive for all my wii and gamecube games but there is a few wii games i want that are over 4GB so would it still work if i format the drive in exFAT instead of FAT32 ?
If you use the Wii Backup Manager it will split the files for you so they fit on the drive. I'm not sure if the Wii will work with exFAT.
@@BytesNBits yeah i shortly figured that out, thanks your time is greatly appreciated.
Is it possible to play these games without a gamecube controller and only with the wii one?
You can play a lot of the games with the Wii controller but some will need either a classic controller or a GameCube controller. I bought a second hand classic controller that plugs into the WiiMote. That works great.
I can not get the GCBM to locate the ios files on my computer, even when directly selecting them. any ideas what I can try? Thanks for this tutorial!
It sounds like it's not recognising the files as GameCube ISO files. I'd try downloading a file from somewhere else and checking if it can see that. Make sure you're downloading an iso or ciso file.
Hope this helps.
@@BytesNBits hi, I somehow figured it out. My files are .ciso, and I had to extract the files before going into gcbm. Again, thanks for the tutorial!
I did Everything right my Nintendont is on my sd card all the games r on usb in proper format but they dont show up on Nintendo t or usb loader
In Nintendont you need to set the location of your files so it knows where to look. Also make sure that you've got the USB drive plugged into the right port (see the video). Only one usb port can be used.
Hi, am I able to play physical GameCube games using Nintendont or Priiloader?
The original disks should just play as normal. You don't need any of the Homebrew apps.
@@BytesNBits Oh! I forgot to mention out-of-region physical games. I'm sorry, I thought I added that.
I have a question when I try too load the games I get a "no signal" pop up, what would be the fix?
Do the games show inside Nintendont? Make sure you use the backup manager to copy the games files into the correct format and folder.

Bob pls help. I downloaded both using my 2 ubs and now they dont load. I ahve dont and subdgx. I have a memory card as well and an eight gb sd card.
Is Homebrew still working OK? Did you load the files onto the same sd card as the rest of the homebrew stuff? Make sure you've extracted the correct files and put them in the correct folders on the SD card. Hope you get it working.
it resets my wii, the console it self is on, the green light beside the power button is there. but my contorller turns off and the tv says "No Signal". i have to manually unplug my wii to turn it off
Make sure you've got all the cIOS updates installed. Have a look at th-cam.com/video/8RdwHT3C16E/w-d-xo.html
Somehow my gamcube game shows black and white on the screen why is that and what can I do about it?
I haven't seen that one before. Is this through Nintendont or just USB loader?
the sites to download nintendont & back up manager doesn't seem to work for me
I've just checked the links and they seem fine.
Not working. Black screen appears after booting the game from Nintendont app. If I choose memory cards emulation this are getting even worse and wii turns off after booting the game. I updated all cios according to your guide.
Have a try with the cIOS setup in this video. th-cam.com/video/8RdwHT3C16E/w-d-xo.html. The first hack video I made uses a bare essentials approach to the setup.
@@BytesNBits problem was in my HDD. Wii games works perfectly, but GameCube not. I don't know what's problem with the HDD,.but I just used my old slow usb flash and it works good for now. If someone has similar problems, with black screen after booting games or crashing the console, just try another hdd/flash drive/sd card.
Make sure you check the Nintendont settings in USBLoader. I think I go through them in the video, but do check for any I might not have covered.
@@BytesNBits thank you
How do I get GCBM to recognise where the source folders are? And I have a memory card on the wii, so do I even need it?
Ok I got it to recognise it, but it keeps showing up as a disk image file.
Did you use the Gamecube backup manager to install the files to the drive? They need to be formmated and named named in a specific way.
Did you find a fix ? I have the same issue
You gotta put progressive notch off
I plugged in a nunchuck and it still wouldn't work😂

Make sure you use the Gamecube backup manager to copy the game files to the usb drive. This should get everything set up correctly for you. They've backed them all up themselves from their own personal collections for their own personal use.
hey man some people do ok. just not very many
The reason we all explain the legal route is that TH-cam gets angry if we encourage people to download copyrighted software. When they get angry they ban your channel. I myself got an official warning for just showing people where to get the software, so it is a real threat.
why are you so pressed? Nintendo is the most anti-consumer corporation on the planet and people hardly sell these old consoles and games at a reasonable price. so yeah i think ill go with piracy!!
