      Yes please Drew! Both are outstanding. Don't don't don't, whatever you do... don't skip Samsara when you get to it! Sort of an interlude track but after Saga City (an unsung hero of the album) you are going to love the vibe XD

      Bout to watch right after this.
      This album and the album art are like two of my favorite things. Still. Lol

    This album has kept me grooving for years, it just keeps ticking all the right boxes.
    Nice tempo variation between some songs, all the groove, nice bass here and there, great vocals all around, all the groove, the downpicking mastery that's John Browne, also did I mention all the groove?
    Some of the songs end with just a repeating groove, like this one - I could listen to those for hours *chef's kiss*

    Every single member of this band is a monster musician. Watch some of the playthroughs John Browne and Olly Steele have done in your free time and you will see what I mean. Mike Malyan, their dummer is a human metronome.

    You might like my band "avirtue" we're from Galway and have heavy influences from monuments, John Browne actually helped write our track "alone" 🙂

    the whole album needs to be listened to in full, The Amanuensis Album art is drawn from the cycle of life, every art piece is like a clock, 1-11. Song 1 - I, the creator. Song 11, finishes how song one starts.
    its a story. it is untouchable.

    • @everythingtcg7590
      @everythingtcg7590 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Every piece of art represents the song that you are listening. if you look at the art outside of the hands.

    Haven't checked yet if you've listed yet but when you're describing the djent you like, I couldn't help but think of spiritbox.

    Not a bad song on this album. Every song brings something weather it’s the riffs, drumming or vocal melodies like this song. Can’t wait for you to lose your shit to I, The Destroyer though
    Day 3 of requesting a full album reaction to Uneven Structures album La Partition!

    Btw Drew, one of the Monuments guitarists Olly Steele does some solo stuff that's insanely good. He actually has a song called "Try" with the lead singer of Karnivool, Ian Kenny. It's super sick, sounds like Tesseract + Karnivool had a baby. Definitely a track worth checking out on your own time brother!

    • @jamesc5801
      @jamesc5801 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Seconded. I had 'try' on repeat for days when it came out. So nice to hear Ian's voice again!

      8:47 hell yes. The more I got to know this album the more I’ve geeked out on it. The fact that you hadn’t listened to the alchemist and Quasimodo yet is sickkkkkk.

    Chris used to be Periphery’s vocalist and Acle started TesseracT after Jon and him parted ways on their musical project together. Sooo your observation of the similarities are not outlandish by any means 😊

    I randomly met a couple of the members of Monuments at The Underworld in London when wearing one of my Tesseract shirts, Olly and Adam approached me at the bar and were like "Oh you like Djent? We're in a shit band called Monuments" I looked and them and was like "I was literally listening to Gnosis on the way here" (this was back when they only had Gnosis out) and then spent the rest of the night getting pissed with them. Really nice dudes and insanely talented too.
