Great video! I am flying Delta A220-300 LAX-IAH next week. Got a seat in the C+ as well. Love the brand new birds.

Amazing trip report! Really cool video! Great that you got to fly the A220-300/CS300! Keep up the great work! Also, I couldn’t help but notice that your pretzels expired on my birthday (November 6) lol. Also, I can see by where the cargo terminal is located as well as the retired FedEx Express Boeing 727-200F that’s at AUS for firefighter training that you landed on AUS’ Runway 18R, not 36R. You might want to edit the description to say 18R. Anyways cool video! Keep up the awesome work and have a marvelous day! 🙂✈️👍

I'm glad you enjoyed, and good catch on the runway numbering! I must have missed that when editing the script.

@@LonestarTrips No worries! It was still an amazing video! I just knew from planespotting at Austin AUS so frequently what the runway numbers were. You always know that you’re on 18R/36L if you see that FedEx Express Boeing 727-200F by the runway that’s just sitting there. And you can always tell that it’s 18R rather than 36L if the cargo terminal is right by the touchdown point. And for 18L/36R, you always know it’s 18L if you pass the Barbara Jordan Terminal right on touchdown, and for 36R it’ll be the General Aviation Terminal at the touchdown point. Or you could just go on like Google Maps and see - cuz runway numbers are determined by their heading so you’ll be able to see just by looking at the runway orientation.

Great shot of those storms and their overshooting tops too! (As someone with a meteorology background I felt compelled to comment on it lol)

Thanks! It's always super cool to get a rare view of meteorological events while in the air!

As a site note. The signage used in JFK T4 (the big yellow boards and others) are based on the design from a Dutch company famous for its work at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. As Dutchman this is feeling at home already 😁

Oh that’s cool! I’m actually flying back through Schiphol in a few days, so I’ll be sure to take a look and see if it looks familiar!

A220 has a composite wing that delivers a smoother ride.

Amazingly, in a bit less than a year after this was posted, it’s obsolete. According to Seat Guru, Delta only has A220-100s. I didn’t double check that on Delta’s web site, though. Love your videos, especially as a former Texan who loves Austin.

I'm 99% sure that Delta still has their A220-300s, unless something changed extremely recently? Delta's website still lists the A220-300 in their fleet, and N308DU, the aircraft in this video, is still listed on their roster. Not sure why Seat Guru doesn't list them though. Anyways, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Always good to hear from a current or former fellow Texan.
