Nice. Air Tanzania, depending on load factor, also flies their A220s to India. Their new A220s have in-flight entertainment and more enjoyable during the flights to India.
So I live in Chennai and its been my home since birth. I understand that it is mainly the looks which makes it worst. So just want you to know that Chennai Airport is not privatised unlike Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. So it is rather plain and simple in looks and different from the usual Glass and Steel Structure. However, the new terminal is expected to have all looks which you would expect (Despite still being managed by the Goverment of India) so you should definitely come once the new terminal is operational for a review.
Well said. And this new Terminal will be the new Intl Terminal and the current Intl Terminal which will be used as additional Domestic Terminal. So 2 Domestic Terminals on the left and right with the International Terminal being at the Center which will be the latest one.
If you saw the state of Chennai’s old terminal, you would be very pleased with whatever progress they’ve made. Still, lines are a big issue though. Can’t make progress if there is inefficient crowd control
it is not about glittery stuff, first of all, the environment needs to be maintained well, I found chocolate wrappers in the lift and spider webs on the roof when I was waiting for my transit flight. it is all about maintenance.
Hi Josh, Reunion Island guy and Cabin Crew in Europe here ! :) Thank you for showing our little island and reviewing its airline. I am so glad when people from other countries than France come to Reunion, fly to it or talk about Air Austral. It is so rare to see this kind of content on TH-cam or even other website or whatever when it's not from a french speaker, so yeah.. I am always looking forward to these kind of videos! About our island and its people, I can totally understand your opinion on how "rude" some people may seem, however I do strongly believe that it is not how the majority of us is. The tourism industry is of course important there (not as vital as it is in Mauritius) but the problem is that it is mainly oriented towards "french tourism" with people coming from mainland France. Even with french speakers coming to visit, I have heard the same opinion but most of the time we hear the complete opposite, that people in Reunion are actually very friendly and welcoming. (At least from what I know and used to or maybe because of the people I am surrounded with, we are like that. We could invite someone from an other country that we just met on the beach or abroad to our house but like geniunely). But as you said, not speaking french and coming to visit may lead to such point of view, which is totally fair, since many people even in the tourism industry don't speak English and it is a shame, yes. We do have many "foreign tourists" yes but because of what we just said and then when you compare to Mauritius... there's wonder why Mauritius is prefered as an "international" tourist destination haha(Very different island and landscape to lol). I wish that my island focuses on a more "international tourism" in the future, they always talk about it but nothing really improves in this regards I guess. -> Reunion and French people, you are welcome to correct me if needed or add more info :) About the Air Austral review itself.. shame that the Wi-fi didn't work, I would have been pissed as well for such a long flight. And yes, frustrating when a crew member or airport staff has poor english skills in the aviation industry. Anyway, I hope that you will come next time to Reunion maybe on their 777? Should be much better haha, and that you have a different and more authentic experience on our beautiful Island. I know most of us there will welcome you as a king and will show you everything you need see, to experience and to know... and I promise with decent english ;) (At least I will welcome you for sure if you need !)
The algorithm brings me to your channel this year first time! I worked in an Australian airline head office. I change industry at Covid time for financial stability hence your Air Greenland two videos gives me hopes and dreams and be brave to wor towards your goal! Virgin Australia review back in 2020 is my favourite too - aus domestic routes sometimes are about competitive cost in this large country rather than fancy things.
Best Aviation Channel on TH-cam. The top 3 videos for me. 1.Greenland A330 delivery 2. Israel Airlines and the defense system 3. Air Peace video without actual peace.
Ive been to Chennai for many gaming reasons and indian gaming tournaments (though I'm not Indian). I LOVE the city and the nice people. Its just that they gotta renovate the Airport a bit to keep up with the other world class airports India has like what you said.
Recently flew, almost as long a flight on Air Canada's A220-300 in economy, YHZ ( Halifax ) to YYC ( Calgary ), just under 6 hours. The PTV's, with a very decent selection of TV and movies, made the time fly and sitting on the 2 seat side of economy almost made it feel like business class so absolutely one of the best mid-haul narrowbody flight experiences I've every had. AC's biz experience, on the 220's, would absolutely trump Air Austral's simply because of the personal entertainment options. Something about the 220's just seems so wonderful, maybe it's the personal, space, the quiet ride, the humidity, not sure but they are my new fav narrowbody by far!
Hey, Josh, love your videos as always. But when Reunion Island and Bombardier"cough* Airbus A220 crossed path on this journey, it's surely grabbing my attention with enthusiasm! Thanks for showing to us.
I’ve flown Air Austral’s A220 this summer from MRU to RUN (short 40 minutes hop) and RUN-JNB (more than 4 hours with strong headwinds) and also had a positive impression, with good inflight-service on the longer segment (warm meal and free alcoholic drinks) and a comfortable ride (helped by a low load factor). Wifi was working well. RUN airport was overcrowded in the evening with several longhaul departures to Paris, but a new terminal addition is under construction.
I used to teach French and we watched a video about Reunion island and one of the teachers who was actually French, said she hated the place as they are always so rude to none islanders! So she was French and obviously spoke French the whole time and found the islanders rude! Like you said, for being so reliant on tourism, you’d think they’d welcome with open arms! I had had visiting there on my bucket list, until she put me off!
Similar issue for most French DOM/TOM islands/regions (esp. Guadeloupe/Martinique), 90% of visitors are French, so little effort non-French tourists, plus a lot of government subsidies, so less effort for welcoming tourists. Nevertheless, wonderful beautiful places, mixing local culture with French flair.
Not true at all. Reunion people are so welcoming. Those islands are really used to tourists and usually welcome them. Not speaking English doesn’t make them rude. In the past years tourism was much more about French speaking people.
The attitude occurs on every island. In Hawaii for example the boomer generation of the natives despise non natives and calling us Haole, which is a derogatory term.
My favorite videos this year; 1. Duo with Noel Philip chasing the B707. 2. The Air Peace madness. 3. Air Greenland video, when you went to Greenland. So far you produce one of the best aviation series, keep up Josh 💪
as far as my top 3 go, 1. Air Peace disaster, I just found it so fascinating how different that experience was to other airports, I also loved it when the Nigerian king paraded through the airport- 2. Air Greenland flight (A330ceo and Q300), I always find it so fascinating just how kind smaller companies’ managers are 3. TAAG flight, it’s just an airline that’s fascinated me for so long! Maybe it’s the livery that caught my eye and excited my plane spotter personality haha, but it’s always cool seeing how some of these African airlines operate!
Hey Josh.. My grandfather stays in Reunion. He is enjoying his retirement life. Only problem is food. Apart from that its a cool place to live he says and he is coming to Chennai in Feb via this same Air Austral 😊 Keep rockin Josh 🤞🏼
Top 3 videos of the year (in no particular order cos it's too hard to rank haha) 1) Chasing the rarest plane in Zimbabwe 2) Air Peace drama 3) Bizarre and scary flight on Iran Air Also honourable mention to my favourite video of yours, the Xiamen air review. That was crazy lol
Greenland was my favorite. I was stationed there in the late seventies when it was Sondrestrom Air Base and the mission flight was Bluie West-8. The scenery hasn't changed that much and I stood at pretty much the same spot you did for a view of the flight line.
The first Greenland flight was also one of my favorites. But I did like the launch flight too. The Noel Phillips crossover was one of my all time favs. Crossover content has a great appeal.
i used to live in Chennai for around eight years and then i moved to Finland after coming back to chennai i had the worst baggage experience ever i had wait two hours for one bag and i had around 4 so it took me 4 hours to get past baggage claim .
Hello Josh, a big fan of you here!!! I think it's better when you do not comment on the airports that you visit rather than reviewing the flights and sharing your experiences. Not everybody in this world gets the same experience and hospitality at the same place. This in turn damages the name of the place and the country. For sure you can share your experiences excellent or worse, but it is not at all ideal to categorize airports on your experiences. Hope you understand what I say and thank you for all your work on TH-cam...
Yet another great aviation video. I always wondered about air austral whenever I see it at Chennai during my travels. I can’t agree more with your comment regarding Chennai Airport as it’s my home airport and given no other choice i use it for all my frequent travels, it hasn’t improved a bit yet. Reasons being its still run by government unlike bangalore Delhi and Mumbai which is under private organization.
RIX-DXB is 5093km and it's official flight time is 7+ hours. Due to airspace closure they have to fly via Turkey and Eastern Europe instead of directly through Belarus, Ukraine and Russia.
Thanks for entertaining me this year.. I discovered you in the summer and have enjoyed catching up with your older and current video content 👌 looking forward to seeing what's happening next year... 👏
I love your videos about exotic destinations. I live in the States, and it's really nice to see all the other beautiful places on the planet. And I also love the fact that you are so polite to everyone. It's very refreshing.
Stayed in Reunion for 1 week a few years ago with my Mauritian girlfriend and never again. You're totally right, the people are totally rude and are not bothered to help you.Stayed in the same hotel as you, which was lovely.Taxis stop at 6pm and we had to get the police to drop us back to the hotel, which was funny.Love your work and Happy Christmas to you and your family love from Ireland 🇮🇪
Try to come to Porto de Galinhas, state of Pernambuco, Brazil. I’ve never been to Reunion, but friends of mine had already been on both places and told Porto de Galinhas is even better. Specially because it’s the second nearest city from Europe on a 6 hours TAP flight from REC to LIS.
Have been to Réunion this Summer and have to say, almost everyone was nice and helpful to us and tried the best they can to speak english and even german! 😅 We didnt speak french as well. Réunion was a pleasant surprise as a tourist destination. 😊
We have been to La Réunion and Mauritius this summer. I really liked La Réunion with the humpback whales, the volcano and beautifull nature. Mauritius is just beaches, snorkling and chilling in the Indian Ocean if that is your thing. I'm from The Netherlands and I speak basic French. Somehow it looks like the people only communicate in French in a fast pace when you try to speak French. They can hear it's not my primary language when I try to do my best in French but the answers are generally too fast which makes it difficult to understand each other instead of speaking slowly which would make it easier. In the larger hotels people and at the car rental (especially the younger ones) speak perfectly English but on many occasions the people are scared when you don't speak perfectly French. I think 95+% of the tourists are from France. During my 12 days stay on the island I heard German once and Spanish once the rest is all from France. Overall I found most people friendly and I could recommend a visit to La Réunion.
Josh the cheek of them people that questioned your knowledge about the worlds longest A220 flight. You don't disagree with someone who is simply the best at his game.love your videos and all things Aviation..
I'm pretty much new here. I started watching you before I went to Ireland. I haven't been on a plane in 16 years before I went to Ireland. My family and I took Aer Lingus. I hope to see a review of Aer Lingus from you in the near future. I'm also a roller coaster lover so during take off (going and coming home from Ireland), I put my hands up like I was a roller coaster. Thank you for helping me to get me ready to get back onto a plane in after 16 years.
Josh, I've loved your videos this year. Your A330neo journeys have been great. I would probably rank the videos: 1 - Air Greenland Delivery 2 - Noel Phillips Africa Tour 3 - Visiting Air Greenland to ask to join the delivery flight
I don't know why your videos were recommended to me, especially since I hate flying. LOL My sister calls me a white-knuckle flyer and gave me a Xanax last time we flew from Texas to Florida in 2018. But I kind of got addicted to your videos and have binge watched many of them. I still feel queasy when your flights take off, and feel immense relief when your planes touch down....not as bad as when I have actually flown...but the anxiety is still there. I think you're quite brave to fly as much as you. I couldn’t do it even if someone paid me. Lol. I think my favorite video so far was your Greenland adventure. And then being able to fly with their crew in their new airliner to Greenland. It looked like a lot of fun. Merry Christmas and happy flying in 2023!
It’s so funny how you describe Chennai airport. It so dirty and chaotic. I used to fly through there many times a year and it’s was always hard work. That said the food and people in Chennai city is off the charts amazing.
Amateur tip to a pro. I've taken cross-country trips on Amtrak, which has now wifi. Pre-load your device. FTR- don't whine. I grew up in a time that we bought batteries for our Walk Man (the tape version) and listened to those tapes and that's what I had from Singapore to San Francisco, every year from 6th grade to 12th grade. In other words, don't complain.
1. Flying around Africa with Noel Phillips. Enjoyed watching you two fly around and having a good time. 2. Flying to Greenland to get a response to an email. Awesome place and great adventure. 3. Middle Business class review of Emirates. That seat should be illegal.
World's longest A220 flight! Amazing! It's a shame that the food was dry and the WiFi wasn't working, but other than that very special flight. Love your videos - I have been subscribed for quite a while. Keep up the fantastic work! My top 3 are: 1. The Air Greenland Delivery Flight. 2. Crazy Security on El Al - The Airline of Israel. 3. Singapore Airlines brand new Business Class.
my top 3 is 1: the air greenland delivery flight THE AIR GREENLAND DELIVERY FLIGHT 2: air peace AIR PEACE - UNPUNCTUAL, UNSAFE, UNPROFESSIONAL, NIGERIA'S WORST AIRLINE! 3: the fit air video CABIN CREW IN T-SHIRTS - SRI LANKA'S NEW AIRLINE! but i loved al the videos from this year Vielen Dank Josh für alle Videos in diesem Jahr
Thanks for all the videos this year Josh! I’m a very nervous flyer and your videos help me with that. Yeah definitely the Peace Air video was one of the highlights for me and loved the collabs you did with Noel. Have a great Christmas Josh. All the very best !
Hi Josh!!! Love your work, i’m a really fan of you!!! Just want to say that you wrote Las Palmas when you talked about the longest a220 flights as LAP , but is LPA. I’ m sure you already know, hugs from LPA 😉
I discovered your channel while watching Noel Philips which I'm subscribed to and decided to subscribe to your channel. I have enjoyed watching your channel and find it interesting to compare with other channels. My mother was French and my dad English as a child my brother and I would spend our whole summer holidays at my aunts home in Dijon, France. I can agree with you that the French have the attitude that the world has to comply with them and they are more than a little miffed that English is the "International language". I remember watching my own cousin who was a French Police officer only answering in French to an English tourist who was asking him for directions. My cousin spent a couple of years in London as a child and even went to a British school instead of the French School in London. He can speak perfect English and with a London accent! I spent several years between the mid 80s, until 2003 making business trips for my previous employer, a British based base multinational oil company. (Shouldn't be too hard to guess which one.) I was fortunate in that we always had to have flexible tickets and at that time it meant that it had to be business class travel. I had to travel to various European destinations and to some of the former Soviet oil producing "stans". I also had to attend conferences or visit production sites in the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and China. The company decreed that we had to travel with BA to all destinations unless BA didn't fly there. During my time travelling we would look for any excuse not to fly BA because at that time we regarded the BA cabin crew in business class as "Flight Nannies" and while the seats, food and drink were good the overall experience was marred by the attitude of the cabin crew. As a result I haven't flown with BA since. My experience with American carriers at that time was that they appeared to be more aimed at customer service and therefore better to fly with. Watching your videos and those of other flight video channels it would appear that this situation has now changed and BA are better while a lot of American carriers have got worse. These days my travel is not quite so frequent but is usually long haul to New Zealand which my wife and I have done via a number of routes, once Japan Airlines business class to Narita then Air NZ to AKL and back the same way. Our favourite carrier on the route had been Air NZ however they no longer fly direct from London so on our next trip in just over a months time it'll be premium economy with Singapore AL all the way. We like your channel and usually watch yours and the other flight videos on a Sunday evening. If you celebrate it, please have a good Christmas and we hope that the new year is good for you. Mike and Tricia Johnson
Yes the Greenland one I liked, this was the one, where the Lady invited you to Spend time with her family. Been many flights I’ve enjoyed, the Longest flight in the world. I’ve loved the Videos, when you collaborated with Noel.
Reunion seems to be one of the least known island resorts in the world. I went there 38 years ago and was overwhelmed by the scenery and food. Would love to go back.
I'm not able to travel, that being said watching your videos I get to experience a little bit of travel different places different planes I really enjoy them thank you so much!
Hi Josh, thanks for the video of your A220 flight to Madras (Chennai I can understand how boring it could be without any entertainment system available. I have been to similar situation! I also agee with your opinion about Chennai airport. I do enjoy all your vidoes as they are quite informative. If I were to name the 3, they would be, your trip with Noel Philips exploring those old planes including the old Boeing 707 one the 'Air plane graveyard". Secondly of course, your adventurous Greenland trip. The third one would be the air peace disaster. Congratulations Josh for your great accomplishment. Keep it up. Have a wonderful Christmas.
Flying from Australia, you know you need at least 12 hrs of any show /s or a few books downloaded onto your device in case of failing tech. The endless trips we have to take to get anywhere are more enjoyable if you have something to take your mind off the s l o w minutes.
nice one Josh "Superbbbb" as the French would say. Your videos are great to watch. Between you and your good aircraft geek friend Noel Philips I keep myself entertained. Looking forward to another great video
Air Tanzania has used the A220 from Dar to Mumbai as well. That might be one of the longest A220 flight too
Nice. Air Tanzania, depending on load factor, also flies their A220s to India. Their new A220s have in-flight entertainment and more enjoyable during the flights to India.
My favourite in top 3
1. Flying to Greenland for the email
2. Africa Adventure with Noel Philips
3. Your toxic relationship with Vistara
His Toxic Relationship with Vistara never gets old! 😂😂😂

My Favorite videos - 1. Videos with Noel - Real Fun, 2. Greenland Inaugaural - Emotional, 3. Iran Video - One of a kind.
Great video as per usual!
Just a clarification, Reunion is not an island nation, like : Japan Malta, UK, etc. It’s a French overseas territory.

Fantastic color scheme on that aircraft! Looks amazing!
Always in France or French territories, start with bonjour, parle Vu Englais, the experience is always different.
That Video was amazing! Thanks for taking us with you

0:20 Man, Réunion is not an island nation, it's a department of France. It's Mauritius, not Réunion, the island nation.
I like all the videos because they are truthful. You criticize show shortcomings, but also praise when its due.
My Top 3 Josh for 2022 are 1) Greenland Adventure 2) Air Greenland A330-800 Delivery 3) Noel Phillips Colab series.
1. Air Peace
2. Oman Air
3. Greenland video 1
Hopefully some Australian videos next year especially with Rex
Wieder ein super Video. Danke und ein frohes Fest aus Guyana.
Josh, I've loved your videos this year. Your A330neo journeys have been great. I would probably rank the videos:
1 - Air Greenland Delivery
2 - Noel Phillips Africa Tour
3 - Visiting Air Greenland to ask to join the delivery flight
Great video again. Have a great festive seasons 🎉
Great video, I liked it when you teamed up with Noel Phillips earlier in the year
My three favourite videos are (1) Air Greenland...Lovely! (2) Air Israel...Magnificent! (3) Air China...Oh Man!
1- Airpeace
2- The first visit to Greenland to meet the air Greenland fantastic lady
3- The recent Air Greenland delivery flight
Lol nobody is complaining and yes I grew up in the same time 😂
1. Flying around Africa with Noel Phillips. Enjoyed watching you two fly around and having a good time.
2. Flying to Greenland to get a response to an email. Awesome place and great adventure.
3. Middle Business class review of Emirates. That seat should be illegal.
I love reunion and I love your videos even more
Living in such a diverse planet I had not heard of Reunion nor Air Austral nor this channel ("my bad") ...
These three events made my day !
Great video mate! Shows how good these aircraft are
Finally someone who can tour the airport
Awesome to watch all your weekly videos. Enjoyed the 220 flight.
World's longest A220 flight! Amazing! It's a shame that the food was dry and the WiFi wasn't working, but other than that very special flight.
Love your videos - I have been subscribed for quite a while. Keep up the fantastic work!
My top 3 are:
1. The Air Greenland Delivery Flight.
2. Crazy Security on El Al - The Airline of Israel.
3. Singapore Airlines brand new Business Class.
Love your approach to reviewing - critical without being cruel. Safe travels in 2023!
Nice job Josh, as always...
Best flight review was the "airlines stealing from passengers", Happy Xmas and looking forward for more pacific airlines reviews in the new year
Love your video's mate, especially the ones that feature Noel Phillips and Paul Lucas. I love the interaction and the banter.
Thanks Josh here in the Southern Hemisphere we don’t get to see A220 and was very interested to learn about it, great Video thank you
Def the air greenland flight video was my fave - it was such a shot in the dark but so satisfying when you ended up on the flight
My favourite video was the Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt am Main to München. I loved hearing you speak German

1: the air greenland delivery flight THE AIR GREENLAND DELIVERY FLIGHT
2: air peace AIR PEACE - UNPUNCTUAL, UNSAFE, UNPROFESSIONAL, NIGERIA'S WORST AIRLINE!
3: the fit air video CABIN CREW IN T-SHIRTS - SRI LANKA'S NEW AIRLINE!
but i loved al the videos from this year
Vielen Dank Josh für alle Videos in diesem Jahr
Thanks for all the videos this year Josh! I’m a very nervous flyer and your videos help me with that. Yeah definitely the Peace Air video was one of the highlights for me and loved the collabs you did with Noel. Have a great Christmas Josh. All the very best !
The Air Peace saga is the best this year, but the mission to Greenland was a close second.
The A220 is basically the TARDIS.
Small, compact on the outside, and wide, spacious on the inside.
Great video, once again. Many thanks, greetings from Brazil
Hi Josh!!! Love your work, i’m a really fan of you!!! Just want to say that you wrote Las Palmas when you talked about the longest a220 flights as LAP , but is LPA. I’ m sure you already know, hugs from LPA 😉
Great Video Josh :) Highlight of my week
I have never been overseas and I love watching your videos it's my way to see other countries and beautiful planes ❤️
(Shouldn't be too hard to guess which one.)
I was fortunate in that we always had to have flexible tickets and at that time it meant that it had to be business class travel.
I love your vids with Noel Phillips, they are great. And when you help the airlines improve where they can!
Hallo Josh, danke für die vielen ,klasse Videos.Grüsse aus Köln.
Yes the Greenland one I liked, this was the one, where the Lady invited you to Spend time with her family. Been many flights I’ve enjoyed, the Longest flight in the world. I’ve loved the Videos, when you collaborated with Noel.
I enjoyed the Indian fights review and I LOVED AIR GREENLAND FLIGHT ❤
Great Vlog. I always enjoy your videos!
You’re so nice to watch and handsom! Well done Josh!
Great video! Keep up the good work and merry Christmas!
I loved the Africa tour and the run in with Noel Philips. Of that I loved the visit to the 707.
Flying from Australia, you know you need at least 12 hrs of any show /s or a few books downloaded onto your device in case of failing tech. The endless trips we have to take to get anywhere are more enjoyable if you have something to take your mind off the s l o w minutes.
Another great video Josh, thank you. Best wishes for a happy holiday!!
Great content, having been watching you for ages. Strange there's no entertainment in business class!!
nice one Josh "Superbbbb" as the French would say. Your videos are great to watch. Between you and your good aircraft geek friend Noel Philips I keep myself entertained. Looking forward to another great video
