    Could he take a lower wage, does he really need an £8,000,000 wage, whilst pensioners and the poor are suffering

    Just today, his pay has now doubled to exceed £8m!! If I were a British Gas customer, I would go to another supplier immediately. This is utterly obscene and cannot be justified.

      Listen to what he actually says, the British Gas Domestic customer sales profits per year are around £40 per year, that is less that £1 per week "PROFIT" from this they put 10% into a hardship fund to help the needy customers, they can also give two £25 Free Credits to customers who are on Pre-payment meters.

    He's honest. Politicians aren't. Fairplay to him he deserves every penny, same way as every footballer deserves theirs and less entitled people go to the matches, he isn't choosing it.. hes playing the game and reaping the rewards and we all would do it if we could..

      @@andreasvictorious3991 it’s a capitalist system though ? Who owns British Gas ? It’s a private company ? Used to be national? "British Gas generated 115 million British pounds in profits from domestic energy supply in 2021" now divide that by the number of "Domestic customers" "Serving around twelve million homes in the United Kingdom" Now a simple maths question, 115,000,000 divided by 12,000,000 gives total "PROFITS" made from each Domestic Customer of £9.58 PER YEAR
    Now take your complaints to any other household "Supplier" of whatever service they provide.

    Wouldn't it be great if we were all on an unjustified amount of pay. Trying to force customers to buy more gas/electric than they need just to try to keep up with the standing charges. The 'are you ok' letters that they send out now are a joke, trying to make it sound like they're concerned about people they don't even know. These letters are only sent out when you're not spending as much as they want you to spend.

    I don't care what anyone says. Nobody is worth £8.2M a year. I am currently struggling to exist and you have people like Chris earning that sort of money and people in charge of our country (Rishi) with wife's having stakes in companies worth £730,000,000. This money should be taken away from them and given to genuine people who really need it.

    • @SirArtsy
      @SirArtsy 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree with you philosophically. However how do you propose this money is taken away? Chris says he doesn't set his pay, ask yourself in your job if your employer gave you 8.2mil for your work, would you say no?

    • @MilesAway31
      @MilesAway31 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SirArtsy No. I'm pretty certain I would say yes and I do understand he's the head of a big business worth huge amounts of money. It would just be nice if the rich gave back to the poor or with people that have genuine disabilities and a better balance. Maybe they are taxed more and the money re distributed to people with disabilities/charities and people that really need help.

    So basically, if you don't use your gas or electric you pay less....hmmmm sound like the bottom line is that you freeze and sit in the dark and you'll be OK. But the bosses won't, or sorry can't do anything to help, unless you use less.

      Thats not how large corporations work, he doesn't own the company, he manages the running of it. Large businesses are jointly run by shareholders who make decisions above the heads of senior staff. Its not like a small startup owned and run by one person, the shareholders and appointed committee members decide his remuneration and also have the power to relieve him of his post.
