      I liked the short, but I don't understand why she didn't try to reconcile with the real Spencer. Did he die? Get married? She just can't find him? Great shott either way.

      @@LordKohaegan we left it a little open, but ultimately I think she would rather live in the fantasy than risk the likely rejection in real life . (We did shoot an alternate ending where he was dead though). Thanks for watching !

    A cute well written story made on a really small budget that can only work if the two leads have chemistry and give very good truthful performances. Both actors achieved this which ultimately drew you in and made you listen and watch. Great work.

      @@RPRosen-ki2fk To Cerberus I say "but I like space ships." The story line could have included alliens such as in Star Trek where they gave Cmdr Pike a new reality.
      Dust just repackages other peoples films and makes $$ (big time) doing so (but they don't seem to bother to read the 1000's of comments make.) This film is high on my list of good ones, and I too have increased my fanhood of Dust/SciFi RP Rosen.

      @elbibt 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it’s an interesting to think about how it works. I think when conceived it was more of a Total Recall thing where she’s getting new memories but when she comes out of it she knows they’re not real. But while she’s in it she’s living in the experience and changing it, so there’s repeat business that way and a good/super unhealthy way to live in the past.

  • @Tano-lh2uf
    @Tano-lh2uf 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Scary future! Thanks

  • @matt_aviz
    @matt_aviz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Well...there has to be a significant allowance for suspension of disbelief for this short story to work at all. For instance, the _memory_ of the guy holds the phone but is talking to the _real_ lucid memory customer support? And when he is "reset" the _real_ phone is on the ground so in real life she can pick it up? Among other inconsistencies.
    And I think the (new) _Westworld_ conception of memory is probably more true to life anyhow, in that the hosts have perfect recollection of everything, when rebooted and "awoke", to the point they can't tell the difference between memory and current reality, but humans' memories are more "fuzzy" and incomplete.
    Also, aside from the whisper thin fragment of sf, as sci-fi I suppose if this is another low- or no-budget college film school project, it maybe just eeks by as sci-fi.
    Once again, when it comes to sci-fi short story telling, read up some more first with the likes of Orson Scott Card, Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, Edgar Allen Poe, etc.
    It's pretty good camera work and acting, but that alone does not make make up for a poor story.

    Definitely different . . . a sort of romcom wrapped around a serious concept, an ultimate form of neural bioVR. What was she actually hoping for, though . . . to "repair" the damage she caused 10 years ago, at least in her own mind? The reality itself isn't going to change, nor is she going to unravel its current consequences, but it is an interesting plot concept.
