    Tom, have the same winch and I just ordered the coolest thing ever! Search Amazon for WARN 103940 Wireless HUB Receiver! It lets you control the winch via bluetooth, but it also displays the winch load, winch temperature, and battery voltage.

      Awesome! It's amazing what you can connect to your phone these days. I like that you can show load, temp and voltage. As a geek who likes to measure everything, that definitely appeals to me. Speaking of measuring things, I'm currently in the process of making a video of the first half of your sway bar suggestion. Pulled the rear links and need to film a test drive. I'm hoping to publish that this weekend. Then I'll wrap it up with the 2nd half of your suggestion and pull the front. The plan was to break it up into two videos as I'd like to try to get a spare set of front links to see if I can make up any kind of QD links. Still TBD on that one, but a test of pulling the rear is coming soon. Thanks for your continued support and inspiration!

    Can't wait to see that installed. 💪

      The footage I took of the install is only so-so I'm afraid. So either I'll have to get creative with editing or re-shoot some stuff. Haven't forgotten about this though. Will get to it soon :)

      TOM - Dilettante369 Any update on the install video? I would even appreciate a post install video with a simple explanation of what you did even if you can’t show exactly how you did it. Maybe mix the install and post-install videos?

      I'd like to see that as well. Same goes for the warm bumper install

    This winch is the easy winch that you can install. I just installed 4.5 on my sxs.

    Excellent choice! Did you ever find any stickers? I’m a sticker nut!

    Tom, What/where (on your Crosstrek) did you chose to tap for the low current power tap on the your 55-S

    Cool. I'd probably change out the line for a Bleepin' Jeep rescue line

      Interesting. to be honest, I've not heard of the Bleepin' Jeep rescue line. Gunna have to check that out. Thanks for sharing!

    Wheres the Warn bumper install video?

    • @TomtheDilettante
      @TomtheDilettante  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yeah, I know. The footage I got of the install didn't turn out well, and my audio got muffled a lot as I was experimenting with a new Rode wireless setup. I tried piecemealing a video a couple times but was not happy with the results at all. I might have to shoot new footage to make it into something cohesive. Sorry to disappoint...I definitely plan on getting to it sometime in the near future.

    How does the crosstrek handle with the warn bumper and winch on it?

      It's a little front heavy I won't lie. When I put the RalliTek 1" lift springs all around, I noticed that it seemed to improve the performance of the car by eliminating some understeer that I felt with the stock suspension. But, once I tossed on the extra weight of the bumper and winch, I'd say it pretty much came back, and maybe then some. It's perfectly acceptable for me and the way I drive anyway. I hope to get a more sporty car someday to pull high G's while cornering, but in the Crosstrek, it is what it is. Notice, I went with a winch that I felt was "just big enough" and with synthetic rope. A larger winch and/or steel cable will add even more weight.
      Anyway, hope that helps a little. Thanks for watching and have a good one!
