I wish every DIY video was as quick and efficient in telling what to do as instructions as this video . There was no bullshiting around an extra talking or stupid edits there was straight to the point
I think they probably have to say that, so that when some idiot somehow shocks themselves taking off the outlet covers or something, they can't say they weren't warned.
0:51 this is where I get problem with. When i try to scrap the paint, slowly slowly its start to get bigger and bigger. Later on when I apply wall fillers it does not remain smooth.
Hi! Do I need to wash the dried wallpaper glue residue off the walls before painting? Can I just sand and smooth the walls, then paint over it? Do I need to prime the entire walls or only areas that was mentioned in the video? Thanks!
Your goal is to get the walls as smooth, clean and dry as possible before painting. Removing the wallpaper residue, patching, sanding and priming where necessary will make a BIG difference in the final result. Click here for step by step details on how to prep like a boss: low.es/1AUjK9R. Thanks for watching.
0:51 lead paint test kit? What is that and what's exactly for? I'm about to scrape off paint in a room and I suspect there's old paint with lead. Any tips or information are GREATLY appreciated.
In your case the test kit would tell you if the paint you plan to scrape off contains lead. If it does lead safety procedures need to be used; you may want to consult a pro. Here's a test kit take a look at: low.es/2wvILg5. Thanks for watching.
If somebody sees this , help out pls 1. For repainting , should I remove the old paint or can I clean the walls, put primer on top of old paint n repaint? 2. Should the primer be applied all over the walls
I know this is a year later to your comment but you only need primer if you’re painting over drywall. OR if you’re wanting to make a dark wall lighter.
im redoing my bathroom walls as the wallpaper scheme is hideous and beginning to curl off. whoever put it there did not prep the walls right and it just peels off parts of the wall. i have to do all of the painting without removing the sink (a solid boxed sink with wallpaper behind it) and without removing the toilet. this is wayy too big of a project for a 21 year old with no experience and doing it alone. any extra tips are extremely helpful and this video was well done thank you
I would like 2 install tiles in dining area,I currently have laminated floor. How is the cost lof removing &installing tiles calculated ,what can I expect . HELP.do u literature info.this iris.
Hey Iris! The costs will be calculated based on the tile you pick and the square footage of the area you're tiling. Here's an article that'll walk you through the install process: www.lowes.com/projects/build-and-remodel/install-floor-tile/project You got this!
Everyone in this video is holding the brush wrong. Instead wrap the handle with your index finger and thumb and then place the other three fingers with even pressure onto the ferrule. This will give you far more control over the brush and consistency in the overall coat. Source: My father-in-law is a self-employed paint contractor.
Guys! So I am painting a NEW drywall that has never before been painted with a color- literally bare with no paint. Do I need to use paint primer? I heard from a couple of people that it is useless and I'm thinking they are right. Professional painters! What is your input on this? I have a few VERY tiny holes to spackle up but that is about all. Also, the walls have stains here and there and oil from fingers but I will just use a solution or lukewarm water with liquid soap detergent to get rid of it!
Danielle Jaramilla im not a painter but I use primer in kitchen or bathroom, anywhere there may be moisture. For bedroom and living room I have never used primer. I think it comes in some paint pre-mixed in already… The more I watch these videos the more I want to just hire somebody to paint for me! LOL
If the spot has rough edges or flaking lightly sand to get all the loose material off first. Be sure to feather out the edges of the repair to blend it into the existing paint. Thanks for watching.
hallo. this video is reallu helpful. may i ask you? how if on my wall surface had a crack like dings in this video? need an immediately answer. Thank's before.
Aye just steam stripped my walls and water got in one of the sockets and my electric started tripping out so make sure you cover sockets just to be safe 👍
Im here on YT looking for how to prep walls before painting and I only so far watched this b/c it is 2.25 MINUTES! Personally I don't want to spend time watching a 30 minute video!
Hey, where's the blue tape for taping off baseboards, door & window trim and ceilings so you don't get any paint where you don't want it? BTW, there's special little sponge brushes that are great for painting next to the tape, then go from there with the rollers. Yep, prep is a pain, but essential for a finished look...
If anything they make it seem more complicated than it is. Theyre including info that doesnt necessarily apply to you. Just patch, wash and prime if youre going over regular paint (i doubt anyone has that much wallpaper or textured walls left over from the 80s-90s)
hello i want to repaint my wall because my niece pulled the paint out and looks like a thin layer of plastic-ish how should i go about it? remove it all by scraping and prime it all???
Are you saying the paint you put on looks too shiny? Do you know what sheen the paint is currently? Semi-gloss? You may only need to repaint with a flatter sheen, if that's the case.
So professional painters!!! Help a sista out. hahha! Question! I only need to put paint primer on the spots that have Spackle? I say that because that's what I see on the vid ;) and just want to be sure! Thank you kindly!
Want to help finish off the already ruined environment? - Use plastic! Cover your furniture with plastic sheets. Cover your ceiling fan with plastic too. Don’t forget those doorknobs - use plastic bags! By the time you’re done you’ll have created about 25 pounds of plastic waste that will still be in the ocean in the year 2578!

The music makes me want to end it all.
Two years later, it has grown on me
😂😂😂😂
I DONT KNOW WHY THEY THINK THE MUSIC IS COOL---ITS GIVING ME A HEADACHE!
jane hyden they googled „free copyright advertisement music“ 🤣
Right?!
LMAO
Lowes: but taking a few extra minutes...
Me two days later still prepping: how many minutes was that?
Love how the voice over girl is so disappointed when she finds out it's oil: 2:04
😅🤣
I’ve literally never seen someone cut off the circuit breaker to a room to paint.
I think they probably have to say that, so that when some idiot somehow shocks themselves taking off the outlet covers or something, they can't say they weren't warned.
Don’t forget the safety glasses too!
Most importantly, do not ingest the paint!
Sounds like you or they are not doing it right 🤷
Women bro women
a few extra "minutes"

It could be more than that

Seems like a lot of work, i think I'll just hire my primos 🤔
HAHAHAHAHA
Ikr. I'm already falling asleep and this is only prep 🤣😃🤣
Right! 😵💫
thank you for making your video only 2 minutes. I wonder why other videos take more than 10 minutes
TH-camrs make the most money when their video is just over ten minutes and they pop a little advert in the middle of it 😅

Quick, Clear and Simple

Carpet erase no tenessi
This is about painting a single room, not an entire mansion lolol
Is there ready to use spackle or does it need to be mixed like cement?
If somebody sees this , help out pls
1. For repainting , should I remove the old paint or can I clean the walls, put primer on top of old paint n repaint?
2. Should the primer be applied all over the walls
Did you ever figure it out

I had the same problem. Buy a steamer and patiently scrape off the wallpaper and backing paper. Then you can sand and prep the wall for painting.
Wall paper remover spray bottle... and elbow grease.. they don't sell that.
So i should prime if it was painted before with a water based paint a few times? If you know the answer pls lemme know thx.
It's always a good idea to prime your wall before painting. It will allow the new paint to better adhere, and it also results in a nicer finish.
How long do u let the stucco dry before painting tho?
This is 50x better than the “weekender” video
I wanna throw my whole house away now :(

ferash raditya you did realize that this is a channel for a store not a person's channel?
No Name I didn’t realize stores uploaded their own videos. I always thought they were run by humans who can respond to comments. 🙄
May be i can try this at home..
Thx 4information. Will probably be visiting u soon.again iris
At 1.15, that hole DOES NOT require a metal mesh patch thing!!!!
Mike Kremer it does for the right price of $12 ;-) lol
Aye just steam stripped my walls and water got in one of the sockets and my electric started tripping out so make sure you cover sockets just to be safe 👍
They literally did exactly that in the video.
Best video ever
I think these videos are intended to promote hiring a pro to do the job.
Im here on YT looking for how to prep walls before painting and I only so far watched this b/c it is 2.25 MINUTES! Personally I don't want to spend time watching a 30 minute video!
I have 2 layers of paint and 3 layers of wallpaper to get off and it is messy and very time consuming.
That’s a whole lotta things I gotta buy that not even PAINT 🥺

How to make a fireplace a focal point
What about old lead paint scraping walls is a no.
Too fast-moving. Not detailed enough.
It's not rocket science.

Danielle Jaramilla also in the video she said prime new drywall.. if it was me I would prime it but hey.... your wall your call.
Right. Someone had patched my wall and there is a big square that shows. Not to mention those drip marks!
Lmao I'm 17 years old trying to paint my own room
Nice👍
Why the hell are all the dyi videos telling me to sand the walls first before repainting. I didn’t know i could have saved a week.
watched.
Ain’t nobody got time for all that
I came here to see if I can paint my walls myself. Yeah. I think I'll save up and hire a painter instead. Ain't nobody got time for all these 😓
they make it look so easy but taking off painting from the walls is a PAIN IN THE ASS
Tell me about it. It takes ages.
Right?!
Trisodium phosphate they put that in Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Smh thats why I stopped eating it.
Abid
Wash...walls...wtf?

This would be so much better without the loud annoying cheesy music
