  • The Union Pacific Railroad Geneva Subdivision is an N Scale model train layout in its 11 year of construction. The layout is built for operations with many fun ops session successfully completed and many more yet to come. In addition to realistic model train operations, the layout strives to follow the actual Union Pacific as prototypical as possible.
This episode is an update on the Global III intermodal facility featuring detailing the check in and check out booths.

It's amazing to develop the knowledge of how this type of operation works. Since I modeled Texas way back when I had an N-scale empire, I had to learn how chemical and petro facilities worked, and how the cars were loaded/unloaded.
Atlanta's Rapid Rail commuter service soars above CSX's now closed Hulsey Intermodal Terminal and there were always a good many Union Pacific engines there. CSX switched that terminal with back-to-back SD40-2s - with one still in rusty, faded light grey Family Line System's paint.

All the videos you just posted were great. The ops video showed prototypical operations and the update shows you attention to detail making that difference. Thanks for sharing. Ken

Your check-in/out pavilions are awesome. Did you scratch build those or are they made from kits? I'd love to know where you got the pieces to make those? Do you recall?

    • @EvanstonSub

I did scratch them. I don't remember where I got the pieces.

Can you tell me the approximate dimensions of the in/out terminals/pavilions?

So, I sold my N scale layout. Not sure about the dimensions. If you go to GenevaSub dot blogspot dot com, there should be information about the project. Also look for videos on my TH-cam channel for more videos.

Excellent modelling. Will you be weathering the whole area? Cheers, Bob

Actually, I have been thinking about weathering. Will definately need to be done, just not sure what the best method will be.

I would like to acquire some short "Jersey" barriers, too. I already have a couple dozen long ones. Which ones in particular did you order from Shapeways? Thank you!

Did you buy or make all the barbed-wire chain link fence? If bought, from who?
