One thing I really like about you guys, aside from the products obviously, is how you sell them. You could easily be like "study tip: buy our shit", but instead you actually offer useful information and advice, THEN product recommendations. Even on your videos that are just talking up your products, you still sell them in a gentle, friendly way that actually makes me think "hey yeah, that would be useful" or "omg those are so pretty!" Top tier friendly salesmanship, you guys! Keep up the great work, and I'll keep buying!
That’s how you know that 1) they’re a good company, because they aren’t only trying to make a Buck but also genuinely think through how the products can be used and suggested, and 2) that the products are actually good, because they show what you can do with that type of item, and if you like the specific one they’re using, great! If not, you have ideas for how to make do. 👍🏻
The passion and hard work they put into their content definitely shows and in turn makes customers passionate about their products too. It's so good to see. Jetpens is invaluable to the stationery community
This is more helpful then you know as I am starting school after being out for almost 20 years. Please more videos like this as any tips are welcomed =)
I believe in you! I always did a sloppy notes page and then made them neat, pretty and organized later during study time. It was a great way to study as well. Good luck! You’ve got this!!!
Retired college & high-school teacher here. Teachers/Instructors/Professors do not approach their subjects the same way, but please, if there is not a clear outline of learning/testing expectationss, try to find a good moment during the first week or so to suss that out. Expectations should be clear, but too often in college, there is this notion that you should just know it all by the time class ends. Instructors will run the spectrum about expectations and so will the college or university. Work on your notes as soon as possible. My last piece of advice is to try to find others who have taken a class or classes with that person. You could get some great insights. Take advantage of social media...but not while you are trying to take notes. Best of luck😎
I had a great pen case with multiple colors of Zebra Sarasa on my desk for note-taking, and my notes were colorful and easy to review ... so much so that classmates often asked me to be their study partner. I had the coolest notes in my cohort. I sure wish those two-part page tags had been out then. Those are OUTSTANDING!
A few things: - First, I'm pretty sure Stephanie is younger than me. SO CALLING YOURSELF AUNTIE IS NOT HELPING (SOBS) - I love these ideas! But it also made me recall that when I finally joined the workforce, the notes etc I took could be thrown out. Maybe a future video on how best to dispose of study papers etc? - Thank you for the bloopers, they gave me life. Ok, onto focus mode!
I ADORE JetPens. Seriously. If only this incredible resource had been around when I slugged my way through three degree programs. I would have kept my notes, and they would have been gorgeous. Listen up, uni students!! KEEP your notes!!
The most important thing is to have a very reliable pen. That's why I switched to a safari fp like 3 yrs ago. Since then I haven't expierenced any issues
Back in college, I was super insane about color coding. And I used the highlighter so much that I would run out of ink. I wished I learned about these tips and the products.
having a designated study space saved my ass last year. every class, bell would ring and my bestie and I would snag the Same Study Room, sit at the Same Tables, put on the Same Music, and do that night's assignments. I got a B in that class ❤
You don't want endless tiny writing 😅 you guys would not have approved of my note and study style but it worked for me. My tip would be to develop your own shorthand style to avoid writing out longer words and increase the speed of your note taking. It got me through undergrad and grad school. And definitely have a notebook and pen ready to go in case whatever device you are using suddenly fails. Having your Bluetooth keyboard disconnect from your iPad during lecture requires a quick backup plan for note taking. If by high school you haven't figured out what style of note taking and studying works best for you, you will likely have to experiment. For example, flash cards never worked for me and adding a lot of color through highlighting was very distracting.
True as I used to do that too... Using short words for longer words.. and I do think too much highlighter color is distracting and lost focus as I ended up drawing instead of studying.
I just purchased a tiny recorder that I could hold in my pencil bag to record the lecture and not inform the instructor i'm recording. If i'm paying $700 for a class i'm taking the lecture home with me so I do well in the course.
Great ideas 💡 I’m in my last semester of college and this was still very insightful. Thanks 😊 auntie Steph .. lol 😆… P.S. those Maruman Loose Leaf Paper - Mini look like game changers to add additional notes / takeaways later to something on that page without trying to cram in the corner. I’ll be picking them up for work and school!
Thank you, auntie Steph. Truer words never spoken: YOU CANNOT MULTITASK. "I mean... you /can/ write down word for word.... but should you?" lol sounds like you and i both have tried to write down word for word and failed and given up xD Meanwhile, I only have one class left until my general exams and I start my dissertation and I'm FINALLY deciding "hey, maybe i should take notes this time" lolol
what are your suggestions for being in an online only school? i feel like being in online college is so much more harder because everything is distracting. not to mention how exhausting it is to read only e books and videos all day.. idk what to dooo ; - ;
For me during precovid times I would change where I study every other time. It’d range from just sitting on my bed, my college library, to my city’s library. Headphones definetly help too especially study music (I made a study playlist on my yt profile if you wanna see lmaoo). But I hope my tips helps for you
I never use highlighter as i think it's too much work and just use pencil to highlight important words. At least using pencil as highlighter if there's mistake you can just erase it.. but using highlighter if do mistake the color just stay there can't be erased. Although there's erasable highlighter but that's not really erasing it like eraser did with a pencil. And printed out the slides.... Actually i prefer to write down the slides again on paper, i dunno but i helps me remembering the content by writing it again... If the slides have too much page, i just write down the important thing so like a summary of it.
i prefer to use a frixion pen that i can erase if i need to erase what i wrote. i can always highlight later. i was thinking in to buying a tablet.. but a small one with a pen... but i prefer 8" not 10" and most certainly not 12" or 14"
Wish that these products would be available in my little corner of the world. Easy access in a local school supplies store I mean, not online on Am… with a fortune cost for S&H. Well and maybe I‘d like to be student again (only a tiny little bit) 😅
That’s funny because the start of the video describes the exact opposite of my college haha. But it’s a private college (paid for by subvention im not reach haha)
I had one teacher in high school who made us take all notes in cursive and we had to write everything and turn them in to be graded. That was not the reality of taking notes in uni but I guess it made me write much faster 🤷
Hi there! Time in transit depends on the option you choose at checkout. Learn more about our shipping options here: www.jetpens.com/help/Shipping_Information
I’d say a camera, whether a phone or GoPro, is the most useful. Working in hard classes, it can be hard to catch up, but if you have a video of the class, you don’t have to worry about that. Hope this helps!!!!!!
Or if your professor won't let you for whatever reason... try a voice recorder app. The phone can stay flat on the table as if you're not using it. Then you can go back to the lesson whenever Also if you come to class a little early and there is a diagram drawn out, take a pic right away before its taken down
i have a mojini line highlighter and the colors are all really bad i dont recommend at all. Mildliners don't smudge too much and the colors are way better
Let us know your note-taking tips in the comments below!

For real! their marketing is amazing
A bit too amazing..I’ve already bought so much from them lmao
"Study tip: buy our shit" 😂😂😂😂
they say buy our shit but in a way you think it is comfortable.. so you eat aaaaalll their shit.

You got this mama! Wishing you nothing but success in your academic journey!
I believe in you! I always did a sloppy notes page and then made them neat, pretty and organized later during study time. It was a great way to study as well. Good luck! You’ve got this!!!
Amazing! I’m in a similar boat!! What are you studying? Good luck!!
Same, after 16 years I’m finally going to college
Their whole series on note taking got me through going back to accounting classes the last two years. Recopying my notes helped A LOT. YOU GO!!!

I'm just happy to see someone learning about using native plants in residential landscaping! More people need to do this!

ohh that's nice! i wish i have a good study partner at least.
Hey! Some of us university professors DO teach our students to study and succeed as we teach the material. I do anyway. ;)
another thing I recommend is abbreviating things:
1) *+* or *&* instead of *'and'*
2) *ø* or *X* instead of *'not'* or any other descriptor.
Obsidian in a JetPens video... the ultimate geeking out over notetaking crossover i never saw coming!!
Right?! I noticed that too and was so satisfied to see both worlds collide 🖋💜

So, not only they're giving genuine advice, but also promoting their products this way?! THAT'S GENIUS
wow.. people applauding an ad.

I literally had to zoom down here to say the handwriting is sooooooo pleasing to see!!!!!
I love the outtakes 😆 but I always need to remind myself that I don’t need any more stationary.
As a Senior High. This really helpful ☺️
Thank you so much for these tips, may the Living God bless you and fill you with peace, joy, and love!

Please do a video on how to take lecture notes.
I have a book for all my notes in a quick but clear format, then in another book i like to fancy it up! As a hobby
Thank you, auntie Steph. Truer words never spoken: YOU CANNOT MULTITASK. "I mean... you /can/ write down word for word.... but should you?" lol sounds like you and i both have tried to write down word for word and failed and given up xD

Hi, loved the video- especially with college being so close, but which software did you show in the video when mentioning the online notes?
Hi there! We used Obsidian.
Steph's bloopers are the best! lol
College starts soon for me and stumbling upon this video was a happy coincidence :D
Goddamnit, these are such genuinely helpful tips. I wish I had seen this 4 years ago
I am about to start my college and your videos these days are in my favour :)

Came for the tips, stayed for the bloopers 😂
Auntie JetPens is just trying to help you get good grades! 😂
Love the bloopers!

you don't need all the fancy expensive stuff to succeed in school though! just a good pen and a notebook.
I'm going to back to college, thanks Covid relief bill, and this video really helps.
What program did you use on the laptop?
Hi there! We used Obsidian.
@@JetPens thank u very much 💜
Hi, I'm currently 3rd year junior high school
That’s funny because the start of the video describes the exact opposite of my college haha. But it’s a private college (paid for by subvention im not reach haha)
you show - but do not name-check the "Cornell Note-Taking " method - well worth newby uni students googling and trying.
my teachers didnt even slow down or teach us how to succeed in high school T^T
I had one teacher in high school who made us take all notes in cursive and we had to write everything and turn them in to be graded. That was not the reality of taking notes in uni but I guess it made me write much faster 🤷
YESSSSS!!!! PLEASE MORE TIP VIDEOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yay top 933 and top 42 likes and comments. Love this content.
Nice! 🥰
An iPad and apple pen is the best investment a college student can get for note taking
I tell my niece all the time…listen to Auntie, but does she….😠
Totally not watching this rather than studying for my exam tomorrow
