I have more than 50 pocket knives. Many are classic slip joints. I used to rotate my EDC, but the Delica 4 has pretty much become the one I carry now. It is a great all around light duty slicer.
Another great video Sir. Fun story...I picked up a mid 90s delica, at a flea market for one dollar. Needed a soak in evaporust and the scales needed dyed, due to sun fade. Knife came right back to life. Blade steel is G2 and had the molded, righty only clip. Thanks so much for your content.
I have a k390 Wharnie Delica with a ti backspacer and arctic storm fat carbon scales. The aftermarket titanium backspacers are a great upgrade for the Delica, so, so, much easier to take it apart and put it back together because they have a separate steel pin rather than having to try and get those integral plastic pins into the liners whilst under tension from the spring. Also seems to improve lockup and detent since that spring is held in place more securely. Also have an s30v one that I love too. They’re just excellent lightweight, durable slicers. Kinda want to get another one 😅
@ hell yeah, I love crossbar locks but the fact that an omega spring could snap at any moment (at least with my luck! 😭🤣) makes them inherently less reliable than a backlock like the Delica. Also spyderco’s backlocks are the best on the market in terms of ease of operation; opening and closing. The Delica and the native 5 completely changed my perspective on how good a modern backlock can be
I carry the para3 lightweight pretty often. It has the compression lock and I love it. I used to have a delica but I lost in on a boating trip and never picked another one up.
I carry a Spyderco CruCarta PM2, and a Delica 4 in CPM M4, but I just ordered a Stretch 2 in VG-10 to rotate with my PM2, bc I loved my Stretch 2 in K390 so much but didn't want to use it. So I ordered the VG10 one from Amazon Japan on sale for only 67$, couldn't pass that up. It was 55% off, they went fast, but I managed to get one, only catch was the 2 week shipping wait, but for 67$ bucks. It's worth the wait.
PS, if you can get a Delica 4 in k390, M4 or CruWear, do it, it's worth the little bit of extra cash. I'm gonna pick another Delica 4 up in k390 here soon myself.
Awesome little knife. The only down fall is they are so light, it makes them easy to lose. Most of my knives are heavier and I can feel if they start to slip or get caught on something. I recommend a deep carry pocket clip. I lost my glow in the dark delica 4 and I'm still pretty upset about it.
Thinking of the stainless handle model as a gift for someone. I want it a little heavier than this one seems to be. Anyone EDC the SS in this? Thoughts?
First Spyderco knife for me was 1991 Spyderco endura gen 1 no liners molded pocket clip.. decided I wanted something a little smaller a few years later settled on a delica 2.. metal clip but still no liners.. function perfectly.. about 10 years ago decided to go with the delica four serrated. But now I'm considering getting a delica four in a plain edge flat grind.. I also have a salt and Pacific salt in H-1 rust free steel the design is similar to the delica 2 and endura 2.. these are my diving snorkeling knives... I also have a ladybug in H-1 ..
I personally think the delica in generation 2 form and the dragonfly are the best ergonomically designed knives out there. The only real issues for me are that in the uk they are not legal as they lock and the delica blade size exceeds our laws and they are like everything else in the uk very expensive.
It is sad that the knife laws in the UK are so restrictive. Our Second Amendment protections also include knives, so only a few places like NYC have many restrictions. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@workbenchknifeandtool pretty soon you won't be able too walk around in the UK with a concealed pencil. It's getting really bad. There are alot of stabbings. It's not the knife that's the problem....it's the mentality of the individual.
Just got one exactly like this one on eBay for 40 bucks! Brand new condition, has a company name engraved on the blade Im assuming that’s why nobody was placing bids on it but they’re loss!

The Delica 4 is my favorite EDC these days. Thanks for watching and commenting!
In my opinion it is the best all round user of the Spyderco line . Easy to sharpen , lite weight but strong , great grip , not to expensive .
I couldn't agree more! Thanks for watching and commenting!

I used to love the molded in clip back in the day
Totally agree. My favorite too.

@@andyhayward1261 the Delica 4 is the knife I carry the most. It even edged out my mini-Griptillian!

I have 100 plus knives in my collection. This is one of my most carried. It’s just a perfect size and weight for me. 🍻
That's a lot of knives! The Delica 4 is my favorite EDC. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Nice great looking knife! Great design!!

Sounds like a great knife. The VG10 in my Delica 4 performs very well.
You can’t go wrong with a back lock!
I have a Saber grind VG10 and a teal scale S30V version. Great tool

Can't disagree with that. I guess I've been lucky.
