We don't see crackdowns ending on the knees like that. We always go immediately to our right hip which stops the near crotch lift and scooping the ankle. Also if you reach around the waist we will hit an elbow trap. What is your preferred defense from that position?
If you shoot to the right side put you right hip down flat on the mat. That way if the opponent tries to lock around the crotch he has nothing to grab.
