Fun fact: This was actually subtly used for the 11th Doctor's first TARDIS. In the background you can faintly hear it mixed in with other background noises.
I admit, there have been times (All too few, perhaps), where I've gone to Second Life, opened my "Logopolis" Time Capsule and totally been enthralled by the sound of the interior and it helped improve my mood.
Peter, Colin and Sylvesters TARDIS.. I mourn the loss of this iconic console room! It almost sounds like today's Binaural thingamajigs and Delta whatchamhoozits!! 😁
In my mind this IS the sound i hear automatically when someone mentions TARDIS. I've never really gotten used to the different TARDIS sounds of the new series.
The biggest help The Doctor has provided me is that no matter how undefeatable them might seem to be, them still have doubts and flaws and some obscure aspects of their personality. But them try to push towards all of that to be the best possible version of him or herself, and that's when the effort pays off, to be able to overcome the difficulties. Things will become better, and so will you. Let's not lose hope.

I noticed that
It's in this video
@@diosatapatiadon’t forget it was used in Captain Jack’s first appearance on his ship too

Looked slightly different, but Tom's as well.
This is the TARDIS sound I learned to love.
My most favourite interior hum of all time. There's just something about it that sounds so right for Classic Who.
The freezers in our local supermarket sound identical to this classic sound; no doubt this was where the BBC got it from.
I am an HVAC technician and I'll tell ya. This sounds like a worn out ac compressor.
Creative though.
No wonder some companions say it's chilly
Either that or the freezers are actually TARDISes in disguise. lol
Well that explains how they can fit more in them than you expect.
anyone else notice how the coat hanger has been painted over to hide the hat and I think umbrella

I'm going through a rough time at the moment and could really use the Doctor's help 😞

I recognise this sound from trying a Flash (I think) simulator of the TARDIS a while back and it used this version.
Ah London 1985. Cybermen in the sewers. Just another day in the box
i like it

now do a 10 hour version
There were two sounds - this was for the landed state. Whilst in flight, it had a different sound.
Why is the coat hanger painted over?
I've seen the original shot, it featured the McCoy hat and umbrella, and this video is supposed to only be for up to 1985.
@@Hawkeye26I see. Man, I've long forgotten that I have written this comment. Thank you.
this is the REAL J-Pop
why does the Tardis hum because until the episode the doctors wife she could not talk
Why does it hum? Because it doesn’t know the words to the song…
I think canon wise, she could always talk. It was just fleshed out in the Matt Smith era
From what I heard it’s basically for helping timelords relax whenever there onboard
