  • The Cory Brown Memorial Dye Garden was dedicated on May 31st. It was a misty day but the celebration was joyful. Those arriving were serenaded with banjo and guitar by Martha and David Owen and David Anderson. Bethany Chaney, Catharine Ellis, Jason Ebinger, Vicki Paret and Donna Brown all spoke with heartfelt thoughts. The sign was revealed with a stand forged in the blacksmith studio. Carved figures made by Carolyn Anderson from chestnut wood cut by her husband David stand in front of the sign. The garden fenced area highlight thriving dye plants including indigo, madder, weld, hollyhock, chamomile and marigolds. A garden sphere made of naturally dyed reed towers in the center of the garden. It is visible above the fence welcoming those walking around campus. This garden is a must see. Come take a class and see it in person!
