OU fan here. The NCAA has to put some clear boundaries around the NIL collectives and the portal, which has basically ruined college football and any team loyalty. Every team is getting gutted and there has to be a "stay or lose" clause in these contracts to minimize these guys that are already playing at their 3rd team - for instance, if I sign for 1 year at $1.0mm, then I get $100,000 at signing, another $100,000 at the end of winter workouts, then another $100,000 at spring. Now I'm 1/3 in and will get X% per game completed until it is all paid out at the end of the season unless at any time he gets hurt and is not available, then funds cease at that point until he is available to play; if he decides to leave and has been injured and is not available, then he has not met the contract and will only receive his payment as per contract up to that time. Also, should be some kind of incentive to stay, and if he goes than he forfeits those funds. This, of course, would have to be regulated across the NCAA and my guess would be a nightmare to keep track of but just getting some thoughts put. All of this is even worse on the coaching staff, and I have a great deal of respect for your coach - don't know him but he seems like the kind of guy I would have loved playing for back in the day. Good luck in your bowl game and upcoming year. Anxiously awaiting Mateer's decision and I will not be surprised if he does not pick OU based on the chatter.......if Mateer is all about the $$ then I doubt OU can afford him. Best of luck in 2025! Fitz

Boomer Sooner fan here. I don’t like that Washington State has lost so much, coaches, qb, players in portal etc. We all know how it feels when your program is gutted. 🙏 changes need to be made to the process.

Stop and get rid of the transfer portal and nil garbage. A student commits to a school for 4 to 5 years to play college football let him or her do so. This is not the pros game. Kids should not be treated like it is.

Issue is the colleges use those student to benefit themselves. NIL in concept was a good idea but need some regulations put on it.

We gotta get money for building a qb for others to snag like a portal price that goes to the school

NIL needs to have a cap. Texass and OSWho has the highest payroll. Ole Miss buys all of the 4-5 stars-. not sure about their scholarship limitation.

@@michaelkornele as a combat veteran and OU alum/donor I agree. That is the state of the world sadly. I donate more to real charity and pay plenty taxes. However, I feel guilty at my level of giving ( nowhere near millions but 10-15k a year) that could help more real people in need but im addicted to CFB.

I've been losing my mind for the last 29 Hours. It's going to take some time to get over losing The Best QB in The Entire Country, TWO YEARS in a row. But....
I Did go to the NCAA Website to dive into the Numbers. We actually are still a head of some Power 4 Programs in Revenue. Our 2025 Collective is already 2.5 X Higher than 3 Big-12 Teams. We've got all of our new Facilities completed. So maybe we do have a superior QB Development System. By next time, it will be in even better shape. We need to find guys like Josh Meredith & focus on making our Culture stand out.

College football is dying, and it's dragging all of college althetics down the drain with it. How long before we get a viable "G league" for the NFL? Won't be long with the way the college model is currently unfolding. The more players who constantly jump from program to program chasing $$ and get to the NFL underdeveloped and uncoachable, will drastically speed up the demand for a developmental league for the NFL. This will be the final death blow to college athletics thanks to the NIL/Portal disaster that is currently destroying the sport.

F Mateer he is a sell out and our school is dunzo forever….league sucks, schedule sucks and we are 1-2 star Paul Wulff again….sick of the rose colored glasses by Dickert and Coug fans….Bowl game is going to be an embarrassment

Lawsuits against the NCAA is what has ruined College Football! There still needs to be rules attached and right now there are no rules! I get that as a fan. Why should we support all this madness!
