The Valley Railroad: 97's first days in action on the Essex Steam Train Excursions in 2024

Welcome all! Today what I have for you is a very bright day on the valley, I am out recording and photographing Valley Railroad 97. She was built in 1923 by Alco, but at the time Cooke locomotive works. She was due to be sent to cuba, but never ended up making it there. It ended up being stored at the Cooke locomotive works until 1926 when the factory was shut down. It then was sold to the Birmingham and southeastern and then ended up running tourist excursions until it ended up on the Valley in 1970 nd started operating there in 1973. In 2010, it went down for its 1472 day inspection, and after a long time of repairs and other maintenance, it officially started pulling regular tourist excursions in 2023 after being mostly assigned to NPE Trips from 2018-2023. She does the same in this video running some of her first excursion trains of 2024 doing a fine job. Thank you to the valley railroad crews and I hope you enjoy!
