The reason light wep is chosen by others it's because of the speed and also the blood loss effect it has (makes the person you hit bleed more, dus training their blood bar a lot faster ) (although yes, the damage isn't the greatest )

@@skell6134 when you die from bleeding, your blood bar isn’t replenished when you respawn, and all of your food and thirst is removed to make sure you don’t regenerate blood. Unless you are able to place down a campfire, light it, and eat a piece of food within 20 seconds of respawning, you will be sent to The Depths. Learned this after not being careful with my blood bar while farming Ministry agents
Honestly, if you have a bad PC and play on like 300ms, you realize heavy and medium swing speed is way too slow and the only weapon that swing fast enough is dagger. So my perference is always dagger
dagger crit is op and you can't change my mind, a spamable pretty high damage attack that leaps forwards and requires no ether. you can kill any npc by middle mouse button roll backwards and repeat, I do agree though it can be bad for PvP but it's a price worth paying for the easy PvE progression.

I disagree, light weapons are op(only against trash players). Yes you have more options to parry, but that isn't gonna do shit if you're playing heavy weapons. Medium weapons maybe, but with (usually) a 0.5-0.6 swing speed, you outclass any heavy weapon with a 1.5-1.6 swing speed because you have a 1 second advantage on parries. But, completely disregard everything I just said because if you actually know what you're doing then you will easily deny any light weapons user of any attack opportunities.
If your a dagger user and know how to time or cancel your m1s your good. Skill scales and as you get better some weapons have adverse effects. With heavy if your trash just mink mink to win, but when you get good and fight high skill players you get shit on cause of the swing speed

Light weapon has been my first choice in the game, quick enough it has proven to be extremely efficient against NPCs since they appeared not to be parrying all of the hits of the Critical Hit of the Dagger. Then fist fighting style is some of my favourite features in the game, it strikes hard and hits pretty fast, and the criticals are all really interesting. Flintlocks is much better than it looks like, basically all of the LHT Weapons are much better than they look like, you can keep your distances and still hit average damage, although it costs ether you can make it up with your build. Talking about damage, I think you can go up to 25 *to* 30 damage with a dagger which you add to the swinging speed of x1.03. Come on, let's take facts, light weapons are good.
Dagger is fine where it is. The damage is fine where it is considering its archetype and speed. You can't expect a dagger to do the same damage as a sword.

when the game first dropped and if servers were slightly laggy it was so annoying to parry light weapons since everytime I'd attack they would hit me before I hit them everytime. Won either way though since dmg is low
Light is only good if your opponent sucks. like you feint with the dagger so they miss the parry, and then they can just hold block, and you hit their posture for like 10%. Light weapons are almost completely countered by just holding F, or back pedalling while doing m1s because you outrange them with any med or heavy weapon. The multi hit can sometimes be good because it has a short dash on it, but thats all light has going for it, the m1s are just tickling your opponents HP or posture bar. Fist styles are good but daggers are poopy stinky, the only barely viable dagger is the krulian knife.
Tbh some ppl just use light weapon cuz their hardcore speedruners who want to have a shity and hard time. (but that doesn't mean light weapon is bad just annoying and op at times.)

I personally don't hate daggers but what I hate the most is guns primarily because how clusterfuck the vertical hitboxes are. There are couple big monsters in the game that you can hardly ever hit with it, most notably is the king jellyfish. Unless you go adjacent with it which is worse than daggers range btw, you will struggle hitting it even once. It's kinda fucked up how you get punished for using guns considering how bad the vertical hitboxes are. In PvP you can "dodge" the bullets with ease just by spamming crouch jumping because more often than not, the bullets won't ever register if they're midair

heavy is bad, easy to predict and you use it as a crutch for your lack of pvp so you use it for high damage. Medium is the teachers pet, being annoying (do i need say more?) Light is the best for pvp due to it's faster swing speed and it's unpredictableness. Also don't say light weapons trash, before you do that fight 3 dagger bandits at once.

heavy is bad, easy to predict and you use it as a crutch for your lack of pvp so you use it for high damage. Medium is the teachers pet, being annoying (do i need say more?) Light is the best for pvp due to it's faster swing speed and it's unpredictableness. Also don't say light weapons trash, before you do that fight 3 dagger bandits at once.

Fist is the only good light weapon and since its the only good one it makes everything else like completely garbo so you basically have to progress with a toothpick until you either go tryhard and kill whalers for the ok ish fist or just exp by hitting a lionfish 2 times and hopefully getting to 45 light

if it has the bloodthirsty enchantment because daggers do tons and tons of dmg with that enchantment but any other and its trash
