190E Trouble Starting or Weak? Check the Fuel Pump Relay and OVP Relay.

    Thank you. I had my car broken for about 2weeks, and I thought the problem was in the fuel pump itself, the new part would have cost about 200€. Thanks again for this video, it really helped me a lot

    I had a 180e and have been trouble starting for about 2 months,I replace everything,all filters and fresh oil,sparks plugs etc,after watching this check the ovp relay and the fuse was blown,replaced it and start straight away,thanks man

    i have my 190e 1.8 from 1993 i had problems with starting. i watched your video and took the ovp out opened it fuses wore ok, resoldered all them pins and install it again and it started first time!!!!!!great thank you for the tip

    Awesome - thank you, sir! Gotta change the OVP relay on my girl's 190E 2.6 and I had little idea what it was and no idea where it was located.

    I just opened up both relays,grabbed my soldering iron and reflowed all joints and now they work good as new and I also did this to my parking lights relay and now all my parking lighters are working properly as well

    THANKS !!! All I had to do was replace the 10 amp fuse in the relay, and everything is fine now.

    Thanks. My OVP and fuel pump relay was on the right side, with the other fuses on my 190e.

    Hi! I have a 2.5 190E that idles at 3000rpm and is hard to start up. Also ABS and Traction lights are on

    Could also be a voltage regulator problem. Same symptoms.

    the red one u held in ur hand, from 190e. after I replaced just a fuse, car stared from one try when before it was taking 4 times. also, my idle rpm went back 8.2 or something, when before it always would be near 15

    My 190e engine was going out while i was driving. I bought a new fuel pump relay but the fuel pump isnt working.. should i check the other thing you showed? The red one?

    The OVP pin socket has two wires connected to each, do you know why there are two wires? I broke them off by accident, I am trying to connect them back but the ends from the socket are too short to twist, can I just twist the two wires together and connect to the pin with a connector sleeve?

    I have the same problem i change the alternator and it still has problem to start.im going to try this hopfully it helps but thx for the video ..

    i will try re-touching the solder. I had a panic attack when my car wouldn't start - it was that scary.

    Can this be the solution to my problem ? My 190 has me stumped when the engine is hot my car starts fine but on cold starts is where my car struggles . It takes me 4 attempted starts for my car to start . Usually the first three attempts I try to start the car and it struggles to start and then it just turns off . It’s like it’s not getting enough fuel pressure but I also don’t know if it’s a fuel actuator problem or fuel filter issue

      AlonSOAMAZING try replacing the little red fuse on top of the OVP. When I first bought my 87 190e 2.3 a few years ago it was a bitch to start. Very stressful and embarrasing. Replacing that one fuse literally cured it.

    Will a bad OVP keep the car lights from turning on? I have a 190e, the other day when I tried to start it the dash lit up for a second, now no power at all, no lights turn on at all, nothing, I replaced battery terminals and battery. Still no lights nor anything.

      Its the potentiometer u have to take the instrument cluster out to replace it

    I have a 1989 Mercedes 300 SE was a straight sex when you start the car leave it running or drive it for a good amount of time and you turn off and walk away and our lady come back and turn it on it will not start takes a long time just get it started it sounds like it’s flooded but then starts shakes a little bit then smooth out . I have replaced the spark plug wires spark plugs coil cap and rotor. I have also replaced our fuel injectors and replaced by new fuel pump and you filter in still in the car will do the same thing not sure what else to do

      Try replacing the fuel pressure regulator. That should be the culprit

    Electricity don't change whit temperature but fuel and mechanical contacts do the hole in the cold start injector on a 190e Mercedes is really small the solenoid valve that open and close the injector can be affected by cold and moisture so is relays take the injector of try to keep it connected and turn key on and see if is injecting anything if don't use a multy tester on DC put the proves in the connector of the injector turn key and you should have 12 VDC if you don't you relay is fuck find it and get a new one if the injector work but the problem persist then you problem is electrical SPARK check rotor resistor check center pc on the distributor check Voltage regulator on the alternator combustion engines Ned compression fuel and spark if you sparks are wet whit fuel and wont start you check for spark if you have spark and won't start timing belt or compression if you car have a rough start but it runs good cold start fuel valve is not working
