- Just thinking, why many Baroque composers have Johann in their first name....
Quantz is a famous composer for flute pieces, he has most of his works in imslp related to flute: flute concerto, flute sonata .....
Hope you enjoy~
Gorgeous, and thank you for the score.
Is it Quartz or Quantz? Or are the two just the alternative spellings for the same name? Thanks for the score by the way.
Lol
Obviously I'm stuck in chemistry quartz for too long haha
It's JJ Quantz.
Que Concerto espetacular, para se ouvir nesta manhã de terça-feira.Viva Música.
*smile
The concerto's in Italian style written by German composers were mostly better than the ones by the Italians themselves.
I don't agree.
Music Writen by spanish composers in italian Style is better than music composed by italian themselves?
True or false?
It's not a question of nationality, in fact Italy and Germany didn't exist in those days. In general I find the Italianate music by Zelenka, Bach, Telemann etc. better written than most Italian works by Pergolesi, Corelli and many others. Exception of course for a real genius like Vivaldi. This Quantz concerto is certainly not superior in invention to Vivaldi.
For sure, it is a question of eclecticism. There Are many local Elements in italian-Style in other countries that result in more diversity.
Why is this being performed with recorders and not Traversi?
Idk
But it sounds good anyway
The second part is being played by a Traverso
