There seems to be a time jump at 4:12 and part of the show missing. Other comments say there's no audio from there, so I guess something went wrong when it was reuploaded.
It worked in the past. So it is a youtube origin problem. Which is weird to know that yt is unreliable with your video uploads. Would have thought they have redundancy.
For me, it just lags and goes silent for a second, then skips ahead in time a little bit. You only really miss the gnome's introduction/explanation apparently, so it's not a huge deal.
Does anyone know what the missing part of the video was about? I feel like that was the bit that explained the whole quest, so while I enjoyed the adventure, I didn't really know what they were doing there xD
Yeah, the reupload seems to have messed with things. The podcast on audible doesn't have these errors, so you can watch there. Basically, the children gave corazon a note which led to the gnome jumping out from under the table and confronting them about taxes, and taking them to the dungeon of temporary extension. All the info was alluded to later in the video so you aren't actually missing much.

“okay i understand the layout of the room now that luke drew it for me.” i wish they showed us because i have never understood this whole part of the episode 😂
Seems to be the wrong description. Not the biggest issue which seems to be audio and video freezes from about 4:12 to 8:10.. then picks up from 8:10. 4 minutes lost? :(
Description has been fixed but sadly those 4 minutes appear to be lost still, thankfully the podcast has them though so if need be can listen to the missing bit there then pick up the video where it jumped to after
Was in the shower and put this on. Thought my TV turned off when it went silent. Then freaked out when I hear audio again. Thought someone was messing with me
This one is weird because it you don't hear the audience that often. At first when they were introducing themselves, I was like "wow, I guess no one here is excited to see them." but i realize they probably just used their mic audio for the vod and it didn't pick up the audience that much or it just got cut out at times.
I wonder if back in 1972 the Intel people knew when they were designing the 8008 microprocessor that future computer nerds would be using it to spell those numbers to spell Boob.
Not meant to cancel, just meant to inform. Hula is a sacred dance and Hawaiien indigenous people have informed it should only be done in certain settings and if you've been taught by someone. I'm sure you didn't mean anything bad Jane
Could you please share a source for that? I can't find anything related on the internet and honestly it seems like "only people trained by a japanese swordsman can even dare touch a katana"
@@nahuelmat I think the issue is more the fact that Hula is a religious practice for honouring gods and goddesses and when Hawaii was colonised the native Hawaiian people were forbidden from practicing their faith. I'm not 100% sure whether it's a closed practice but I can see why native Hawaiian people would want it to be respected for what it actually is and not as some random dance you do at a party
@@Nine_Crows_Down Might be more that than what I said. This is only how it has been phrased by the native Hawaiian creators I follow. There's probably way more nuance to it than I know of.
As someone who has dm'd luke you need to ease off. You railroad your players. You are very harsh when they don't do exactly what you're wanting/expecting. You probably shouldn't tell them what they need to beat. Again this allows you to be merciful on the players. You don't want them to fail. You're working together to tell a story and have fun. Case in point, trying to jump 5 feet and teleport is an absurdly difficult 18, but jumping in unison, balancing on a see saw, then repeating it is only a 3? The players can tell you're punishing them for not doing exactly what you want. This discourages creativity and it also tells them they just have to sit back and let you tell your own story that they have no say or part in telling.
You may find playing for an audience, with time to keep in mind, is different than playing with a group, at home. I think people tend to use the term "railroad" a bit too much, when it really depends on your group. They all understand there's a point to be reached, in a certain amount of time, so they don't mind being, as you say, railroaded. It's a collaborative storytelling experience.
@@angstbringer2992 the comment was made primarily with the idea of general good dming in mind. So your comment with regards to an audience has a context that was not consistent with the authorial intent of the original statement. Since you are shifting from the original context I will assume you are conceding the point. Further clarification regarding railroading. This is very consistent with the definition. Just because it is over used by others does not mean this instance is incorrect. Making jumping 5ft and teleporting an insanely difficult roll, followed by an absurdly easy roll for an action that is actually much much more challenging is railroading. You want more? Look at what happened, Egbert fell then luke went out is his way to punish him by saying he fell so long that feather fall was consumed by the drop before depositing him on the ground with another absurdly roll, this time damage. The time factor simply is an excuse. It took more time to punish Egbert for trying to do things differently then it would to let him go. Further as mentioned below, Johnny does this regularly with no problem. And if there's an issue with time, ultimately it is the dms responsibility as they have crafted the outline of the adventure. Luke even said he made alterations to the session in the video. If he's so close to the time restriction then it's his fault ultimately. Now I am happy to change parameters and discuss the context of performing in front of a live audience, as this context also does not encourage railroading. Firstly, I perform in front of an audience quite consistently, so the condescending assumption I lack the necessary experience to understand what is happening here is erroneous. Granted not specifically playing dnd, but there is nothing unique to that performance that cannot be experienced in other formats where one performs in front of an audience with a time constraint. Secondly your assertion is inherently wrong, Johnny regularly does this and you will find it completely different from this experience. So it is therefor completely possible, and further he consistently does it. Egbert running if to the hedge maze instead of pursuing the quest? No problem.
@@ownsauce1 first, you take this way too seriously. second, its important to remember luke was real-life railroaded here, johnny couldn't make it so luke was given his notes, very specific notes, and had to take over.

Yeah, one second Corizon is talking to some children then all of a sudden a gnome is halfway though talking about taxes I think
Sadly it still hasn't been fixed, thankfully the audio still exists on the podcast so if you want those missing 4 minutes you can listen to it there
The guy yelling in the audience at 1:04:40 did Luke dirty. 11+1+minotaur strength modifier which is 4=16
The video goes still and no audio from 4:12 to 8:10
Might need a re-re-upload.

*Oh she turned into a bird alright*
Can she? I thought she couldn't yet turn into a creature with a flying speed. There's restrictions according to the druid level.
The upload might be bugged. No audio after 4:12
I love when Luke adds canon for Johnny to clean up later 😂
In my head cannon, Egbert does remember 'the incident' but forgot that Merilwyn was a duck at the time. 🤣

12:53 DC18 to jump 5 feet? Is egbert in crutches or something? lol
Well, plate armor isn't exactly known for being mobile...
It's not a role to jump it's a role to accurately cast the spell to teleport at the right time and make it to the other side
this comment is a year old so you probably don't care any more, but it was actually a strength athletics roll so I think it was for the jump
