Scott!!! Your videos are NEVER boring my friend. Doesn't matter if they're an hour long buddy, you ARE one of the few content creators that can hold my attention. Have a Blessed weekend my brother. Love ya always!!! ☆Jay☆.
I've learned a ton from you, Scott. Just bought my wife a new car. After being shipped out here to Maui, inside the PASHA cargo ship.....lots of iron fallout. This video was timely for me.
I had purchased a new 2012 car medium gray in color, and after I decon'd/clayed/polished the first time it literally changed the color from a 'warm' gray to a cooler shade. That was my epiphany on how bad this situation can be on a brand new car.
I love how much he speaks, because he’s teaching and providing different perspectives to consider. Ive loved his videos for years! Only thing he has not liked that I have loved has been megs hybrid ceramic wax.
You warn about the plastic trim. What about the rubber trim around the windows and doors? Rubber oxidizes also and turns dull and gray, are these products speeding that process up?
How about just using a rag to smear the iron x to the surface, so that it wont pour down on your plastic side skirts? Another good thing is you get even coverage all over the parts that matter. I use this method when using detailing spray as well. (Also with detailing spray, you can dilute them 1/3 spray, rest water if your poor/economical or just smart... lol ;)
Scott (DPC and Luxury Microfiber) is still the best. I love a couple other guys doing this on TH-cam (Apex-Brian, for one), but Scott is so real and detailed and human; he has fantastic and beneficial insights to the common viewer/detailer. I have and will continue to purchase his products as well.
Hey Scott your videos are great. I'm just a car enthusiast and am just getting into detailing. Out of all the videos and bs that's out there, you are the most honest and down to earth. You give it to us straight with no bull$#!t. You don't get paid by companies to endorse them, because of that you are the best. Now let me ask you your opinion on the groits iron remover??!
Agreed, ...i didnt know, some overspray went on black plastic external fender guards on my ram...spots apeared.i had to then fix the plasic with trim treatment.pita...👎
Thanks for your help mate. Fallout remover is now part of my wash process. I never noticed until I cleaned up a white Evoque. I could clearly see rust coloured specks all over it. Saves contamination of the clay. What about tar and glue removal. Where do you put these steps in your process Dallas? After the pre wash or after your contact wash?
Finally was able to take the time to watch this one, maybe a sneak peak at the upcoming DPC Iron remover? hmmmmm, I like the clinging ability! Thanks Scott!
Hey Scott, love your videos, they have inspired me to start a detailing business. I wanted to know what your process is to get clean clear coat. I have Megs Decon, clay, panel prep, etc. What would be the order of operation leading to fresh sealant application? Thanks for the inspiration and informative videos.
covering up the plastic down there is fine but what about the overspray on all the other plastic things like the lights, rubber/plastic trim pieces etc. I wonder, might be a good idea to treat those parts with a sealant just prior to applying the iron remover...?? any thoughts ?
Does an iron remover also remove any protective products from the car too? Should I reapply a spay wax or sealer after application and washing with a ph neutral soap?
My bumpers are the WORST part of the fallout on my 16'white WRX. What method should I use to remove it if these iron-x products shouldn't be used on my bumpers and skirts??
Scott can your towels be shipped to Europe, because I know they are very good and would realy like to have them. Great video and thanks for the info, keep it up.
Thank you for another great video Scott. I picked up the step of foaming after iron remover. I wasn't doing that before. I am assuming I'll use purple boat and auto after iron remover since I'll be using a clay bar and publishing/ waxing. You didn't mention what it did to the wheels. I love using it on wheels especially the barrels. Cleans them nicely!
Laura Hampton when I do the roof and around the windows, I don’t spray right up to the moldings, a few inches before and product will run to the edges, I keep an old but clean microfiber cloth and can bring to the edges as well. If it can’t be done this way, then tapping is best.
Hello Scott, what is the"secret Voodoo ingredient" in fallout removers. Why is it so expensive. Is there a household product that uses the same ingredient we could use?
The chemical that dissolves iron is called Ammonium Thyoglycolate, and no there isn't any household item that I can think of that will work for iron... Unless BarKeepersFriend would work? It is oxalic acid which is great at removing water spots, and can be used to shine metal. It might actually dissolve the iron particle.
It's not really a Voodoo ingredient ;). The main active ingredient is thioglycolic acid. It's what smells like rotten eggs and reacts and dissolves iron.
Scott have you ever used Sonax Fallout Cleaner ? I really like it. not a fan at all of Riccardo Iron Maiden ( really really really bad smell) I am interested in trying Auto Glym's Magma iron remover
i just Used Adam's Iron Remover for the 1st time last night, thought it worked pretty good, and they have a masking agent in it for the smell...doesnt smell super great, but doesnt smell horrible wither. Would use again.
Take home message - 1. Tape plastic trim to prevent possible discoloring, 2. Work out of direct sunlight 3. Spray product onto car, liberally. Allow to sit for 5 mins. 4. Thoroughly rinse car off. Done.
Scott, we would've really liked to see the effect of the iron remover on the wheels up close, but you didn't do that. Perhaps you will include that in an up coming video. We thoroughly enjoyed this video too. God Bless and have a good week ahead.
They all say iron removers are safe but we have to see the bigger picture when it comes to plastic trim.. All companies are forced to use the same active ingredient

Hi Scott, Thanks for your informative videos. We had our car splattered with welders over spray a few weeks ago. But we did not notice what had happened till the small metal bits started showing up as spots of rust. we have tried washing the car to get the worst of it off, Without much success, Would this product be any good for bits of metal that big. I don't want to use a clay bar strait away in fear of scratching the rest of the paint in the process. the only thing i can think of is to pick each bit off 1 by 1(there are 100s to about 1000 bits). We are over in New Zealand some of the products you have in your videos are not available here. I was looking at a wheel cleaner as a substitute Thanks for any help you or your viewers may have, Dave.
1. Do you use this before washing the car? 2. You said dont apply on plastic...I noticed you didn't cover the V8 logo 3. If you use a clay bar, you don't need to use the iron remover?
Don’t like the baggy trick either. Better to use what God gave you natural sense. I’ve got a lot of iron in my water and was wondering what I could use to help when I wash.

I was gonna use tape on all my trim for the first time I use iron x soon, should be adopted by all. Great tip
Why don't you tape the headlights? Those are plastic too right? Will the iron remover not hurt those?
Scott! I don't know why you apologize all the time! In my opinion. Your a highly skilled detailer. Always appreciate your videos
Did my C7 corvette and my F-150 today after watching your how to vid - thanks so much for the input cause iron x instructions are very vague .
What type of pressure washer are you using? Seems to be extremely quiet. Thanks
Thank you for your video, this has gave more peace of mind about Iron fallout remover. I feel more confident to give it a try myself :)
Cool video and good luck with your new car!
How about on rubbers? Is it safe some cars has rubbers on doors and windows frames.

Hey Scott what foam cannon did you use and what product to foam the car

Hey scott. You mentioned that it leaves a white chalky stain. I experienced this and not sure how to fix. May I ask for your advice? Thanks
What is the best product to keep the plastic trim looking new (not restoration)?
Purple goodness 💟. I don't have a foam cannon, I would then rinse-wash with soap-rinse? Thanks for this video, Love.
Pressure washer sounds really quiet.....is that still the sun jo you show in previous videos?
You had me at "be careful around plastic".
Great vid Scott. I remember when your videos were 20+ minutes long lol i personally was a huge fan of the longer style vids lol Thank you sir.
Scott,
What kind of pressure washer gun and foam cannon are you using?

I'm curious as to how your brake rotors reacted to being sprayed with and soaking in that.
Rotors are always constantly rusting (on the surface), so as soon as you go for a drive and apply the brakes the surface rust gets ground off.
@@richpryor9650 and when it gets ground off it goes into your paint and the cycle starts again I guess. :)

Scott, I agree completely about the foam cannon being a blast to use. I can't wash my cars without it anymore.😁

Hi would this remove those yellow little specks on white car paint?
no thats tree cum . u need apc for that

I’d imagine the the issue with the plastic is becoming a bigger issue now. With all these “SUV’s” with plastic cladding to look rugged.
Question from noob
Plastic trim check i get it!
What about other plastic like fenders or body panels?
can you link the foam you are using here?
Absolutely tape it off if you can! Just did my Challenger (lots of plastic on the bottom) and no issues.
do you have to tape the plastic chrome mouldings around the windows?

I’m going to have to do this to my Sierra. The hood is cover with the rail dust and won’t come off with a clay bar.
When do you Clay it
Afterwards
Once you apply it do you spray or wipe it off?
Will the iron remover effect factory installed body stickers? (2013 Boss 302 & 2016 F150 Special Edition - both have a “hockey stick stripe”)
Woo hoo! Another video from Scott to end a Friday 🤙
Hey do you iron remove before or after the contact wash?
Great vid. What kind of tape did you use to protect the plastic trim?
That's painters tape
That "chrome" trim is just painted plastic...
Great work big Scott
what do you use for water spots ???
Koch chemie FSE
Can iron remover be applied to a ceramic coated car?
yah but youl strip your coating

What do you recommend for soap in the foam cannon? Thanks.

did you change your orifice in your foam cannon to a 1.1
