Snowy Drive New Zealand - The Great Alpine Highway - Most Scenic Alpine Roads in NZ

The Great Alpine Highway , also known as State Highway 73 (SH 73), is a major east-west South Island state highway in New Zealand connecting Christchurch on the east coast with Cass/Hokitika via the Southern Alps. It is one of the most scenic roads in New Zealand, with a total length of 231 km.
This video was taken on 24 September 2023, the middle of Autumn in Southern Hemisphere. The drive covers the arguably best part of the Great Alpine Highway, starting approximately 5 km south of Lake Lyndon, through Castle Hill and Arthur's Pass, and ending at Otira River. It basically runs closely parallel to TranzAlpine train track, offering a stunning view of Arthur's Pass National Park.
