I have one of these engines in a generator I was hoping you might have some advice for me the engine was runny perfect it's been left for around 6 months and now won't start I have checked everything and one thing I have found that doesn't seem right is when cranking on the compression stroke the exhaust valve opens alittle then snapps shut like it's catching something on the cam. Have you ever had this l? Is there anything that pops to mind? Any advice welcome I'm out of ideas now
Josh Kilen yes, I answered yes as none of the ring gaps can be aligned with eachother, the best thing to google is yanmar l70 manual because it will show you exactly how everything needs to be aligned
Hi, i have finally rebuilt 186F engine, it looks similar, but its weird that my engine failed to start. Injector is good, adjusted valves 0.15, any idea what i have done wrong? Thank you.
Hey can I get in contact with you man? I got a 7hp motor that is hard at starting takes over a min or more to start some times it doesn’t I have replaced the fuel pump and injector no improvements. Anything helps
@@zippyzappyz I have bleed the fuel lines a couple times now nothing changed. Also I can run a filter or no filter doesn’t change anything lol. Could I get your Facebook or number? To communicate better I can send you videos of what it is doing.

I have a Yanmar generator with L70AE engine. Looking for a good online source for engine and generator head parts. Having trouble finding reference material for generator. Found manual on engine only. Do you have an online source or do you have a local dealer?

@@zippyzappyz thanks, but my engines are the 186FA which is a 10hp diesel, which is equal to the L100.
Josh Kilen the l70 manual should come up with all 3! The l48, l70, and l100! Your 186f will be equal to the l100!
If you can please made how to check injection pump yanmar l70 in good condition or thats broke
If you remove the injection pump, push on the spring to see how much tension it has, if it’s too loose, it’s broken

It was the fuel pump, replaced it and finally worked well.

You mentioned that you had a previous engine bored out .050 at a machine shop. How much did they charge you for that?
Andrew I was charged locally $100 flat, I bought the piston and rings separately on ebay though

Do you prime the fuel lines before hand? do you have a clean air filter and fuel filter?

If you get a gasket set like from eBay it should come with injector pump shims.
