@@Laughingmonkeymusic except he would be taking a piece of the label's profit, not the band's share. The label is taking their piece no matter what. The band is never getting what the label isn't contractually obliged to pay them. So if the label wants to pay an engineer or producer out of their share or potential profit, then why not... This might never happen but it's an interesting scenario in my mind.
What a legend!
Dude! Great advice and stories from Steve. One of my favorites so far Shawn!
Thanks Chris, yes he is great!
rip king
For a split second I thought the host was Dale Crover
it’s the magic the gathering open boosters guy
The espresso vs overproduction metaphor lmao
Damn - Luv listening to Steve - SMART freakin guy - Saw him in Big Black @CBGB's back in 90's (they played w/drum machine)
Thanks for watching!
Big Black in the 90s?
@1985cactus rerelease and product releases …. Its always as business
@@Laughingmonkeymusic I don't understand what you mean. Did Big Black had a reunion show in the 90s?
@1985cactus no just getting picked up by new label and releasing old music and a concert
How many times does this guy have to say he’s an engineer and you still introduce him as a producer…
Thanks for sharing, I hope you enjoyed the interview.
He’s a humble audio mechanic who likes to keep things sounding classic and has no interest in using modern tools.
@@LaughingmonkeymusicHe makes a real point. Don’t be a dismissive prick.
Looks like Steve is interviewing himself... (doppleganger alert!)
Ha ! that's pretty funny ….. thanks for watching
Nout amiss with fader-monkeys getting points. It's NOT a normal job - round the clock. He's noble.
❤❤❤
Ad kame staci shimnut krk a nastaviť ju ako ma byt [ala archtop] v vyssou kobylkou a neni problem. Mam tak jaguara
It would be fun to record with Steve and demand that he compress the guitars and every drum. You know…cause he’s not a producer
He’s always said it’s your album. Not his problem.
I'd love to ask him if he would take points on a record if that money didn't come out of the band's share, but came directly from the label...
Its still the same … the points should go to the artist
