- Today, Greg is having a GAS with Steve Albini, the founder of Electrical Audio recording studios in Chicago.

Steve is most widely known for having engineered In Utero, by Nirvana; Surfer Rosa by Pixies; Rid of Me by PJ Harvey and The Weirdness by The Stooges, but has worked on literally thousands of albums besides these in his extensive career.
Steve is also notorious for his stance on analogue recording techniques, and is a vocal critic of digital media, citing its inevitable medium-term obsolescence as a fatal flaw which has never been properly addressed.

i cant believe it - i´ve been following US politics for years now and especially close during the last year and now i´m watching a clip about GAS studio nerd stuff and the first thing i get to understand is the reason why those idiots over there were puushing the reopening so much and ignoring the all the obvious dangers of it. never heard any of this on CNN, MSNBC, NYT or WP. crazy. but grateful. now on with the clip

I am a left leaning business owner and I am always amazed at how people get the unemployment system wrong in the US. The employer does not “pay into” the unemployment system, the employee does. The employer only facilitates the transference of funds from the employees wages. I know this video isn’t about that. But it drives me nuts.

That was some great conversation. It’s amazing to think that the musical madman of the band I saw in the mid 80’s worked and persevered into a world class producer. Thanks for posting!

LOL Well My studio was booked every day during covid... People weren't doing nothing? You see all those so called protests?? People were busy!! Two different worlds, two different perspectives.
