I love this vídeo. i would like to see jeff jones doing a new decklist of burning abyss post new challengers and explain the changes in this archtype. He inspires me as a duelist.
Dragon and Triple mind Crush are broken, I cut Mathematician to one though with the information you just gave me it makes perfect sense. Your deck is amazing.
Hey I was just wondering a good consistent way for this deck to get around Leo, in testing that seems to be the only legit card the deck cannot get over
Thank you Jeff for clarifying that Squad is bad in Burning Abyss. Their SS effects are one of their best features and things like Squad makes it completely useless.
Konami still struggling with this in 2018, lol!! Konami R&D can't make multiple balanced archetypes at the same time even if someone paid them to do it!!!
I am glad you said Felice is terrible lol nobody will listen when I say it xD the list is pretty great. I didn't think about how good raiza was right now. The mind crushes were a good idea too. Supply squad(IMO) is pretty bad in any deck I would rather play better cards. Yang zing could probably utilize it the best but I still don't like it in there.
supply squad is awful in yang zing, your opponent will never destroy your monster as it doesnt help anything at all, so why even give you a plus for it? dead card... fire king and scraps are good with it, but well, who plays them?
Just swap the BA trap for Foolish Burial it's the only Spell BA need especially when you have a Monarch in Hand. It's great way to force Emptiness and SIM
Foolish does the same as Mathematician without eating up your Normal Summon and allows you to combo with BA you have in hand. Plus outside of Game 1 you'll almost always side at least 1 Mathematician out anyways
Masaz Foolish Burial then becomes a card that is auto sided out for Game 2/3. It doesn't represent anything concrete in this deck. It is literally Upstart Goblin that tries to force plays. I'd rather Mathematician any day as it represents sustainable card economy.

nice deck,i actually i wanna try his version.but he so cocky that he sucking up all the energy i had after watching this video and im sure he sucked alot of energy out of the room at the tournament with his attitude
Obviously the deck can win without supply squad but that doesn't mean that the card is bad. I beat every burning abyss player that wasn't playing squad so by that same rationale, the card is amazing. I feel like people hear a phrase and just repeat it so much that they start saying it when it doesn't even come close to applying to the situation. "Makes your good hands better and your bad hands worse" and "it's just a win-more card." First off, the only time Squad is "bad" is if you don't open any monsters. In which case, a lot of cards you can draw in a BA deck will make that bad hand worse. Comparing it to upstart goblin is a joke. If you open squad and Tour Guide/Mathematician/Graff+any other BA monster, you can set it off turn 1. If you have phoenix wing/karma cut/raigeki break, you can even set if off on the opponent's turn. If you don't like to run it, that's one thing; but calling a card terrible when others have had success with it is ignorant. As far as being the best deck builder; I'd definitely say that's not true. That statement heavily implies that anyone can play the deck and win just as much. In cases where the player has new ideas for techs and how to run the deck in a slightly different way, it's the player that tops, not the deck. I give credit where credit is due, so with that being said, he's a great player. He just doesn't realize that player preference is a thing and his notion that his deck is the "right way" to play it is overbearing.
Wow so much salt Supply squald IS bad in the deck I could literally just ask who are you to say Jeff Jones is wrong but you will find some way to argue it Its not about "if you have a monster or not" its about "if you open it or not" You simply cannot draw into supply squad mid to late game You would much much rather that card be a power trap Instead of trying to out plus your oppnent, you should be trying to focus on restricting them It doesnt matter how little cards you possess Aslong as your oppnent has less
EdwardNewgateLevay Obviously it is a personal choice, for Heff Hones, supply squad may not work for him. but for other BA players it works. If all else, its an easy card to side out games 2 & 3. leave it for what it is, yes Heff, is a Yugineer (YGO-Pioneer) almost better than Patrick Hoban. An amazing one at that, he take deck building to an entire level. No one should take that from him, and no one should take his strategies and tech choices to heart cause again what works for him and what does not work for him may not work or may work for someone else
EdwardNewgateLevay Calling me butthurt or salty just tells me you don't have a valid argument. I mentioned that Jones is a good player in my post for a reason. It's to tell people that just because someone good topped with a deck doesn't mean that it's the only way to run it. Supply Squad is a good card to draw at almost any point in the game. As I said, there's so many ways to set it off that you're most likely getting a draw on the turn you play it, so the bad top deck theory isn't relevant. Even if you're getting stomped mid to late game; as long as you have monsters you're going to have a better chance at making a comeback with it then without it. Last but not least, he topped one tournament with the deck and acts like it's the new standard. It won't be. Much more players have had success running the card then players had without it. The proof is in the statistics.
player preference is a thing but the success of SS doesn't define that its a staple in the BA deck. Granted it turns the fast start of BA decks in better fast starts. But it still doesn't solve the problem with the deck being crap late game and not having answers to easy summonable beaters. And if you get SS mid game when you are already plowing through half your deck, what is the point? You can certainly play 2 more cards in the spot for SS that could be another pitch fodder trap, or another answer to BA's mid game weaknesses when someone flips Vanitys or something. Or making your summons stick in a tightly controlled game where your opponent wants to simplify the game state.
Grade2efficient The problem with that logic is that if you're relying on top decking in a standard BA deck then you've most likely lost the game already. I can name plenty of cards in any given BA deck that will be bad to top deck if you're in a losing position. I'm not arguing that it's a necessary card to run if you want to win, all I'm saying it that it's a great card in BA.
I wake up. Go to work. Come home. DO it all over again, and sometimes go to a large tournament which means even more not sleeping. I am ALWAYS tired haha and constantly have dark circles under my eyes =P
Broken?? Not quite the terminology I would use... However, it becomes player knowledge when he uses mind crush so yes, he can write down the cards. Furthermore, MTG allows players to write down your opponent hands.
almost forgot the value of mind crush with cards that get effects for sending/pitching to grave regardless. You get the hand cheat but you whiff and you just send that Graff to get a free monster from deck to board if you had none.
Damn is he on drugs he lost like 50 lbs lol, just compare the weight difference between this video and when he did his ycs toronto psychic deck profile
good deck profile but dont talk so much honestly. people want to see the deck and why you play certain cards they dont want to hear your whole life story. ive skipped through at least 10 minutes worth of your talking to go back and forth and try to find the point where you show the next card. its just frustrating because i dont want to sit through 24 minutes of hearing you speak. i could go to a lecture course in college for that.
One if the greatest players and deck builders (if the not the greatest) in the history of the game.
I like how nobody mentions that the best card in BA, Foolish Burial, was completely left off.
I love this vídeo. i would like to see jeff jones doing a new decklist of burning abyss post new challengers and explain the changes in this archtype. He inspires me as a duelist.

Really Good, even against Nekroz. I added anti-spell fragrence to the side deck
Now everyone's going to be playing this version of Burning Abyss
That's a sick jacket.
Maybe I'm having a derp moment, but I'm trying to figure out why Acid Golem was main decked.
On a side note. Where did you get that sweet jacket?

Thank you Jeff for clarifying that Squad is bad in Burning Abyss. Their SS effects are one of their best features and things like Squad makes it completely useless.
Write down your opponent's hand?!? Nuts.
Konami needs to make a format where every new archetype is equally powerful instead of one or two that are guaranteed to top
Konami still struggling with this in 2018, lol!! Konami R&D can't make multiple balanced archetypes at the same time even if someone paid them to do it!!!

I like how this deck beautiful except for the Super Rare Acid Golem

Fuck you, idiot.

Is this video about yugioh or his ring?
first things first, he's the realist
Why doesn't Jeff have a YT? It would be so kewl
What were the last five in the extra, something's wrong with my vid over here and I can't see them.
SHANE KING I SEE YOU
Fuck, that opening sound scared the shit outta me!

i predict Vanity's Emptines doesn't get limited next banlist or the one after that its gonna be really annoyin

Evil Weasel YZ use them because they run some cards that will allow you to destroy them by yourself
which would be?
Baxia. Lol
wow... so basically supply squad is a winmore card. none of my YZ opponents ever brought that card out, and without baxia it's just terrible.
holy geezus this the a long long long profile because this guy keeps telling tales =S
