I watched the video all the way through in silence. I then broke the silence with these words:"F... that's nice!".
    Thank you

Tusen takk, det er kult å kunne bruke de restene av Mallard etter å ha bundet store Spey fluer. Skal i vannet sommeren som kommer🎣🎣🎣

I have been waiting for this video for a long time! I have wanted to know how you get your mallard wings so perfect? I love how well your wings sit on the tails and could not wait to see your tricks..... then you set the wing like it’s no big deal and didn’t even check to see if was setting right before trimming 😂 ... and of course it was perfect !!! I did notice 3 things in the mallard wing process:
    1) do you purposely tilt slightly towards yourself before you make the first wrap on the wing?
    2) I like how you grab and bend the wing
    3) I will start using my bodkin to fix the wing as you do!
Thank you Fabien!! Happy New Year!

Thank you very much for your compliment. For your question number one: the thread and pressure on the thread is a “tool”. I mean you can press right down, you can press on the side.... when wrapping down if you don’t have the pressure between the fingers correctly it will go around and the feather don’t stay on the right place. But here it’s different on other feathers... you don’t do the same pressure on turkey or duck quills... slightly different but in the end almost the same!

    Hi Fabien!
Very clean! I like how easily you attach your wings! What do you use as an applicator for your head cement?
    Have a nice day!

Thank you very much for the compliment!!!
The head of all my salmon flies and wet flies are done with one time superglue like zap a gap and after that four or five times head cement. This is a very old fashion to do it but a very durable and hard way to do it. Now that days people often use uv-glue and…. but this is not good. Take a bit of time to do it but again you will use the flies longer👍👊

I am inspired . Thank you ! No power here (SW Iowa) for past three days , just me , my dog and a candle . Soon enough , though , I will be trying this one because it is superb . Thank you for sharing ! How is winter in Norway ? Is power reliable ?

Pardon my ignorance but what part of the mallard are you using for the wings? Is it flank or from the wing itself? Thanks.

Здравствуйте, интересная модель, в каком регионе вы живёте? Какая рыба предпочитает Ваши авторские мухи? Думаю что это будет кушать рыбы на всех широтах в пресной воде, лососи всех пород. С уважением Bolat.

I use a Nikon d5300 or Nikon d500 and a macro lens. I think the lens is maybe the most important, but I am not a specialist in photography 😊👍
I did some video for request I received and will make some other soon!!

I am not sure how everything works, like I said to you before, I can ty flies but I am not good with computer :) my wife help me and download and the rest, editing....
I have no patience for that! I can seat 8 hours on a fly without problem but computer and such things make me crazy 😉

The thread is unithread size 8/0, I use this thread on 99% of my flies. When tying for frame or contest, it is also possible to make it very flat. This fly here is a fishing fly :)
