Love the idea of that scrappy sweater, adding that to my list. I have the yarn badger stripe a day advent which is the one I try to keep up with through advent- much more manageable. I also have the green lambkin daily and the James makes yarn weekly ones. Oops. Not set plans for those yet but maybe a Daft Days cardigan for the daily and a vertices unite for the weekly. But it depends on the colours 🐧
How about this…..frog your cardigan and then come back to it in the new year and start again. Then you could cast on a size you know will fit xxx i have the Fiber fox advent, bluefern and one my friend made me. I have a Musselburgh on the needles and one more to knit for gifts. 🐧 Your honesty in this video is very refreshing ❤ Enjoy your time with your newborn. It goes by so fast xx
🐧 Also, new mum here. It took me forever to get back into the swing of crafting. You're doing amazing. Take time for you & your bebeh ❤ we'll be here when you're ready.
🐧 fabulous mug, always fun to have Christmas mugs out! Love your little co-presenter chirping in! Take care and keep warm! Will see you March at EAYF! 💜💜💜
Love hearing the baby coo.🐧🐧 We will miss your Vlogmas, but it's smart to keep the pressure off. Soon enough you'll feel like doing it again, but for now time is precious with your little one. I bought three advents this year. That is way too much!! They are from Polka Dot Creek and Maker's Mercantile. Then I have a stationery because if there is one thing I love as much as yarn, it's a new journal and pen! I haven't made a decision on what to do with the Polka Dot Creek advent. The Maker's Mercantile comes with a project and is mostly accessories as the advent. It's been fun to watch the 'clear the needles' posts by others. And Karma's a Stitch has been working on a WIP a day to determine if she wants to finish or frog. She's finished a few, which we've all kind of left projects with a bit to do that we've left behind. I have two pair of socks and a gnome. One needs the toe kitchenered, one needs the toe knit, and the gnome only needs a weight in the bottom and about 10 rows to finish.
Thank you for including the coos, it warms my heart so much ❤ My tiny one is over a year old already but last year I was very much where you are now, with the endless contact napping and no time at all for myself. What I’m trying to say here is that I see you, and I know you’re doing great 🫶 Happy December, may your tea be always nice and warm this winter 🐧
You kept me company while I got ready this morning and I love the chatty style you’ve got going on ❤️ this sort of video is right up my street 💃 I think the reason I freeze up and don’t ever start an advent project when opening advent is because I subconsciously am thinking I need to see the whole thing first! 🐧 Your advent from last year is calling me at the moment rather than wanting to work with one’s I’ll start opening tomorrow!
Ong I love hearing your little one in the background. Don’t stress about getting stuff done with her around any parent knows and understands so just keep being you and know we love it no matter what is going on in the background, in fact cat or kid or chaos we love it ❤ 🐧
🐧love the cup. Tried bird and blend snowball tea yesterday. It was lovely. Thanks for the inspiration. My only special Christmas cast on is peppermint inspired dk socks from Candy Shoppe yarns for me. Have one done andits the 10th. Big project at work so limited crafting time. When i had little ones i gave up crafting for several years. You are doing amazing!! Love the jam shorts. Happy advent!
🐧 for Advent, I'll be working on an Imagined Landscapes Gnome! Other than that, giving myself permission to not *have* to do anything. I did get a coffee advent this year and plenty for the kiddo (9) as well as managing Elf on the Shelf mischief. Hope you (and everyone here) have a lovely December!
Knitting on the Serendipity sweater that I started in August, thanks for the reminder to get the Christmas mugs out 😍 I don’t have an advent calendar but I get to share the coffee one I give to my husband every year for his birthday 😂🙌 Nice to see you again, and very reasonable not to do vlogmas - but I hope you get to enjoy the other ones that are out there 🎄❤️🎁
I tend to pick my pattern so I can start knitting as soon as I open. I got this year's Advent from Leap of Faith Yarns. This year's project is the Innsbruck Scarf 🐧
I normally make a cable design from Christmas advents. From last years I made a throw for my mother-in-law. I love making crochet design. This year, I'm making another cable afghan in long strips with white cable strips in-between. Otherwise the advent yarn isn't enough. I use sock yarn so the cables can be very detailed... also means it takes a long time to make lol. Still my love in life. Have a wonderful Christmas!
I said no gift knits this year and here I am with two pairs of socks and a request from my sister in law for dishcloths for Christmas. 😂. Instead of finishing them I am currently working on my own cozy comfort throw using a weekend advent from last Christmas by Mandi’s Makings. I am really enjoying the repetitive garter stitch on a very lazy Black Friday. And I am NOT shopping today. ❤
🎄💜💜💜😘I have to see the advent before choosing the pattern, although I’m on my 3rd year to receive advents and haven’t made anything yet. I’m very indecisive. 😂😂 Little Miss has such a cute little voice. I love hearing her in the background! 💗💗💗🐧
nice to see you! Really enjoyed the video! I am working on a lot of projects, including the birth of my baby (due date is today :D). I really like seeing how you are managing knitting, youtube and your shop with a newborn.🐧
Last year was the first year I waited to make something with my advents till they were opened. I’ve had many false starts but powering through a Jethro with my 2023 Spectrum. Have this years waiting. Body shapes change hugely post baby, I wasn’t just a didn’t size but completely different shape, my shoulders my legs everything. Making garments is hard when your body is always evolving . 🐧
🐧 I like to see my advents before I decide what to make with them. The cozy comfort throw is such a good project! I knit one a couple years ago and am under it right now. I have a supersized habitation throw that I finished last December too and it’s a great lightweight throw as well! I’m unsure what to make this year, but am about to finish the rainbow ripple baby blanket and am also enjoying a bit of crochet, so may start a new advent crochet project with an older advent 🤔
I have 3 crochet WIPs I'd like to get done by the end of the year - a cardigan, a wrap skirt and a pair of lounge shorts. I think it's doable but I'm not putting a lot of pressure on myself. 🐧🐧🐧
🐧🐧I picked my advent project back in the summer as it’s my first year getting a yarn advent 🥰 I’ve got the pigment & ply winter solstice box and making the meemamakes Yorkshire blanket in DK SWM☃️💝
🐧Love the baby noises!! So so sweet! My daughter learned to crochet last December so I had a lot of fun making her a yarn-y advent calendar and coming up with a patter for her to crochet with it. I found the Magic Monday crochet cowl (by Brenda Grobler, free on Rav/Nurturing Fibers)- it is a loop cowl and it has 35 rounds but I broke it up into 25 sections, so it works out to a round a day! :) Fun!! I may use one of my advents to do this with her as well!
🐧We actually got the Bonne Maman advent this year, a treat that both my Mom and I can enjoy. Work is crazy right now, so OF COURSE I'm knitting/crocheting gifts. I'm crocheting mini chihuahua's for my sister, finishing a pair of stranded colorwork mitts for my son who has ridiculously large paws, so I have to modify the charts, tatting a garland of fall leaves for Mom. Luckily everything is for adults, so if Christmas gets to them in March there will be no complaints. I'm sure everyone would like another pair of hand knit socks, too.
After I finished recording this, I remembered I'm also getting a Bonne Maman advent! I'm currently dairy free so wanted a chocolate alternative. Mario's said there's a couple I can't have, but I'm excited for my daily jam x
🐧 🎄 I got a weekly main skein advent from skip rope yarns in Australia and a notion and mini skein 12 day advent from 111 windmills ❤ can’t wait to open them!
I'm knitting my 18yr old nephew a sweater he asked for one😊 I'm doing Stick season by the very clever Creabea beautiful written pattern, can't wait to knit myself one in gorgeous wool rather than acrylic, he is off to uni and can't see him hand washing 😅😅. Enjoy the baby snuggles 🐧🐧
I love to dream about advent knits, this year I have your advent I also have 2 other advents can't wait needles at the ready. I would love to send a penguin emotional but I don't know how. Merry Christmas
🐧 In addition to your advent I have 4 week project bag and another yarn one. I have a few pattern ideas but will finalize them once I see the yarn color.
🐧🤗 I'm very much looking forward to opening my Muppets Christmas Carol advent tomorrow 😀! I'm thinking I might try to do a blanket with it, making a piece each day (using up each skein each day and then edging with the 100g skein at the end). I do have another advent due from another maker, but unfortunately it's caught up in the Canadian postal strikes so hasn't left Canada yet 😢, so I was absolutely delighted when I managed to get one of your extra ones too 🤗. Looking forward to the next video ❤
Hi Hannah, I'm going to knit 24 shortie socks for my husband this year, did it last year for myself, and he loved them, so he said that he wanted it to for this year. So my knitting will be socks only 🤣🤣. With my other advent i'm going to make a sweater, it's a 5 x100 gram skeins set, don't know what pattern yet. But not in a hurry to make that. Happy knitting, Petra 🐧🐧 love your mug
🐧Hi Hannah. Hope you are doing well. Doesn't matter if you don't get knitting done. It is hard with a baby. The hats are looking lovely so maybe you will get them done for your friend's kids for christmas. I am trying to knit a pair of socks for a friend for Christmas but need them done by Thursday as we are meeting up then. I have made other friends socks as well and onto the last sock of the pair. I will be trying to madly knit to get them done. Hope you have a great weekend. Take care.
🐧I have one of your advents and a couple others. Some come with a pattern which I will typically do if I like it. Some I wait because I don't know what it looks like all together and it doesn't come with a pattern. This year, I am doing the stripey sweater with your yarn and some off white plain yarn, Vivienne or Advent from the Shrug Seasons patterns by Jackie Rose. They aren't what I think of as shrugs, but HUGE cowls that can stretch over your shoulders. They might work well with a baby as you could put them over one shoulder if you are holding baby on the other side.
🐧🐧I've been busy making bowl cozies and hats. I'm not going to have everything off my hook, but that is okay . Little one sounds so happy, and you look great.
I can't afford yarn Advents so in years past I've had my partners make me an Advent out of my leftover sock yarn stash. This year however, I'm going to be down an arm for most of December so my knitting/crochet time will be limited. I'm doing pretty well on getting my goal projects done before December and I think during December I'll finish the blanket I'm crocheting out of my DM's Collection yarn. I love your🐧mug!
it depends for me on advents. Some years I know exactly what I want to do, others I have to let it tell me. For the sprectrum fibre advent I plan to make a stria cardigan, but I'm waiting on mine still (grabbed a spare and asked for coordinating yarn so I'm doing it as 12 days of christmas). I still have my 2022 advents to start or finish. I'm on day 7 of castle view yarns, which I'm doing a ripple blanket for and then I plan to do a free your fade with my fibre fox 2022 advent but I never seem to have 3.5mm needles available to start it!
I hope you're able to find some time to figure out your field day cardigan, the yarn combo is just too lovely and will look incredible on you! I've got two advents this year, yours and a fade from The Discrete Unicorn. I'm way too excited about the muppet advent to pick a project before seeing it all, but I'm going to make a Sweet Shop Blanket with the Discrete Unicorn since it's DK weight and I know it will be a rainbow fade 🐧
I’m currently working on some crochet gifts. I have a few knitting projects that I would like to finish but if not this year it’ll go into 2025 with me. I decided to treat myself to my very first yarn advent calendar this year and got The Court of Dreams (ACOTAR) Christmas themed advent from Dragon Hoard Yarn and I already have a project in mind for it.
🐧I've honestly never had a yarn advent, partly because I am one of those people who want to choose their own colors xD Which is weird, because I _do_ think a yarn advent looks super fun, and there are so many pretty designs for them nowadays, but I still can't make myself get over that hurdle. On my needles ... too many projects, but the one I'm most enthousiastic about is the Belmullet by Andrea Gaughan I put on my needles yesterday.
🐧 i think i’ll make a scrappy stripes sweater for my advent! was thinking about making a cosy classic raglan but i think having the stripes in the pattern might be easier haha!
I wouldn't be attempting a Vlogmas with a little either lol. No time for gift knitting this year. I have socks, mittens and a head scarf on the needles but they aren't this year's gift knits. I do need to crochet a duck though. No advents either except for tea. I would probably frog that sweater and just start over unless it really doesn't bring you joy and it's just the yarn that does lol. 🐧🐧🐧
🐧my life is currently overrun by making granny square blankets for my 4 nephews and 4 neices lol I got your advent calender for my husband cause he Loves the Muppets so I have no idea what he's gunna want me to make him. For myself I got castle view yarns advent and I gathered up all my random minis gave them to my sis in law and she baged them up and numbered them randomly so I think I'm just gunna do a scrappy blanket with my advents.
I decided to make a hat for my boss - unfortunately, it's brioche and it's only my second time doing brioche and I've had to frog the main hate bit like 3-4 times XD It's okay. I think I understand what I'm doing now. But got it's taken much longer than I was hoping 😩 I also make a crochet D20 so that's was fun! Definitely loose ends hell though.🐧🐧🐧
🐧🐧🐧 I'm currently working on the last of a trio of dishcloths for my sister and BIL (the Grandmother's Favourite pattern... or "Favorite"; I'm Canadian, I spell it with the U!), and I'm hoping to have enough cotton leftover to make tawashis using a pattern I made a while ago. (I had to reprint the pattern because I'd downsized my printed-off patterns by recycling/turning them into scrap paper. But it's okay, because with the printer we currently have I can print double-sided and in black-and-white, to save on paper and colour ink.)
I really appreciate your commitment to keeping the tiny one private. It can be so hard for kids to have their lives on when they had no say. Also appreciate the realistic talk - sometimes something has to give for our sanity and if that’s Vlogmas, that’s Vlogmas. The muppets Christmas carol advent is my only advent this year. I have no idea what I am going to knit with it yet, I’m just excited to see all the colors and then figure it out. 🐧
Understandable that Vlogmas takes so much time and energy. Enjoy spending that time with Tiny One. I didn’t get an advent as I can never decide on a pattern. I did get a Christmas Box that has 3 full skeins and some treats. Colours are inspired by the Northern Lights. 🐧 love the penguin mug
It's okay to not do vlogmas - I can't imagine doing it and I don't have children OR cats! I got a marshmallow Advent because it sounded delightfully weird. I still haven't touched my past advents because I can't find a project idea that I'm in love with. Working on a hat but my friend does not expect it on any given date - they are very understanding 😂 Lots of love from the Pacific Northwest 🧡 🐧
I’ll really going to miss you doing Vlogmas this year but completely understand that it’s far too much work when you have a Tiny One to look after. My December knitting plans are to finish the Wee County Yarns 2023 advent (oops!) and the Golden Birch Leaves scarf by Hilly Knits which I started in November 2023 (another oops!). Hopefully achievable? 🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧
I love hearing the baby noises in the background, they’re so cute! I’m used to making baby noises back at my nephew 🥰
🐧 hearing your babies coos was precious!
So nice to see you again. One day at a time with a new baby is the best mantra! Have a wonderful, restful holiday!
🐧 i’m glad you’re taking some time off! we will still watch with or without vlogmas!
Loving the baby noise 🐧
And Karma's a Stitch has been working on a WIP a day to determine if she wants to finish or frog. i enjoy the baby background. I've put my wips on hold as I'm knitting socks and blankets for christmas this year. I am getting through my stash. 🐧
Lovely chatty podcast! Enjoy putting up your decorations- Christmas seems to take on a whole new meaning when you become a parent.
You kept me company while I got ready this morning and I love the chatty style you’ve got going on ❤️ this sort of video is right up my street 💃
I think the reason I freeze up and don’t ever start an advent project when opening advent is because I subconsciously am thinking I need to see the whole thing first! 🐧
Your advent from last year is calling me at the moment rather than wanting to work with one’s I’ll start opening tomorrow!
Ong I love hearing your little one in the background. Don’t stress about getting stuff done with her around any parent knows and understands so just keep being you and know we love it no matter what is going on in the background, in fact cat or kid or chaos we love it ❤ 🐧
Love the baby noises!!
🐧 lovely little vlog... can't wait to see your finished projects
Love the baby sounds. ❤

I just collect the advents, lol. I get Corner of Craft and Polka Dot Creek and Bird and Blend every year... some years I add others 😉😁😃🐧
Love your videos Hannah I made a blanket from your 2023 advent but I wish I had it all again I loved it xx

I have just finished the Daft Days cardigan by Rebecca Clow using your 2023 Book of Spells advent. It's very colourful. 🐧🐧🐧

🐧 I’m planning on starting the EAYF knit along with your advent from last year over December. Lovely baby coos very cuteee ❤

And maybe weaving a scarf and dish towels??
🐧 right now I’m crocheting turtles for Christmas presents

I've got two advents this year, yours and a fade from The Discrete Unicorn. I'm way too excited about the muppet advent to pick a project before seeing it all, but I'm going to make a Sweet Shop Blanket with the Discrete Unicorn since it's DK weight and I know it will be a rainbow fade
🐧
🐧 I havnt got an advent, but I’ll definately look out for one next year!
🐧 I'm currently working on a Musselburgh hat for my partner!! I so enjoy watching your videos!

🤩
🐧☃️🎄im knitting socks for everyone this year.🎁
I’ve got my muppet Christmas carol advent and also my recycled yarn advent from Alterknit Universe! Still have no clue what to knit/crochet though😂🐧
🐧🐧 Don't push yourself to vlogmas if your not enjoying the process its not worth it. Just enjoy your baby they don't stay small for long.

🐧I wait until I see the colors before I choose an advent pattern.

Lol, the year I'm severely behing on Vlogtober and November videos is the year half the channels I was expecting for Vlogmas, won't be vlogging.

Love the updates and knitty stuff but please no more "blah blah blah" filler
@@thecatmont I can't promise which filler words/phrases I will/won't use 😅
