Fun Fact: DB confirmed both Tommy and Akane survived. The post battle ko scene would show Tommy crying over his broken dagger and Akane exiting the crashed plane and taking off her helmet. It was cut for time and budget.
"you're lucky he waited" The most true thing in all the world. So many things have gone wrong for the villains in Power Rangers just simply because they wait for the rangers to do their poses and whatnot XD
Here's the way death battle scales Character A has showen they are able to destroy a planet , character B has be stated and shown to be equal to character A so the planet feat should work for character B also.
WELCOME BACK RIS I was so disheartened when there was a large gap after Ghost Rider vs Lobo because all I could think was "maaan, he stopped right before one of my all time favorite episodes" but it is so good to see you return

Glad that you are back with Death Battle reaction. You are the most perceptive and very attentive DB Reactor that I know in YT. Been following since day 1 of your DB reaction, Thank you for being back Ris. 😊👍

I think they used the Island thing, because it was the highest comparable feat possible. It was basically a massive overestimation. But they say it doesnt even matter if you use it, because Kiryu was leagues ahead of that anyway.
It relates because Rita did directly create the Dragonzord and did give Tommy his powers, at least as the Green Ranger. So it would likely be around the same strength level as one of Ritas best known feats, even if you have to be a little generous towards the DZ.
Don't care for the fact it's Death Battle. Seeing any video from you Dean is a treat that always puts a smile on my face. Have a wonderful New Year and may it bring you happiness, love, hope and pride. Many blessed to you and your family 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
The legend is back and man it's been some time but yeah with your next one being Sasuke VS Hiei, it's time for you to see the first Death Battle matchup that was originally a DBX since this paved the way for DBX matchups becoming Death Battles.
Yeah, I don't really get the scaling feat they used for the Dragonzord either. It could just be because I am sleep deprived so I didn't quite grasp the logic but it just seemed like "Rita destroyed an island, the Dragonzord fights Rita's creations so should be similar in power" but how exactly does that work? I doubt the monsters are as strong as Rita or as durable as the island she destroyed so how exactly does this work? I honestly don't like this form of scaling because it just assumes because Character A has beat Character B, they should be capable of similar feats but like, Batman has gotten the better of Flash and Superman, unless he has one of his god armors, he isn't getting anywhere close to their level. Scaling makes sense when the action is actually relavent to the feat like "Character A can move as fast as light, Character B was not only able to land attacks but avoid them so they must be capable of similar if not the same speeds". This makes sense because they are scaling one character's speed with another because that character kept up but it'd be different if it was like "Character A is as fast as light, Character B punched him in the head and knocked him out when he was standing still so he should be capable of the same speeds". Just defeated or challenging a character with certain stats doesn't mean you automatically have the same, they should actually prove Dragonzord's output is comparable, not just say "Rita did this, Dragonzord can do it too". Maybe that's not what their logic was but it seemed like it was and that's some faulty logic if it was used. Doesn't matter since Tommy lost but would have been frustrating if he won due to a power level he 'possibly' has but hasn't shown off. This is my issue with a later Death Battle you haven't gotten to yet so I won't spoil it (and you possibly won't have the same logic for it anyway).
@@SanteeSherminator it will take a long time though. Since he had previously said he's going to be doing this once every 2 weeks. Meaning we're gonna be well into 2023 by the time he gets to Saitama vs Popeye.
On the topic of the island feat: Basically Death Battle has changed their standards on how they scale characters over the years, previous episodes used to only feature directs feat for the fighter being analyzed or needed a lot of justification to scale them to other characters, like Ryu to Akuma or the white ranger to all the other ones. But now they'd rather give the benefit of the doubt and will often accept feats from other characters so long as the character being analyzed can match them, or it makes sense in the narrative. It's not necessarily better or worse, these are fictional characters at the end of the day. But there are lots of franchises where the best feats are performed by weaker characters, so it often feels off-putting to place the stronger character in a lower tier of power just because they haven't done anything calculable. Regardless, nice to see you doing DB reactions again, keep up the good work :)
Thank you for saying that how is some teenager gonna take down an autonomous robot lizard that has the same experience as Godzilla there was no way he would win
The man, the myth, the legend...IS BACK! I, among countless others, am so glad to see this series back in action and can't wait for you to get to some of the more favorite fights over the last couple seasons.
Shame you came back to one of the episodes that are completely wrong. The white tigerzord and Dragonzord by extension are are to keep up in speed with Serpentera which can fly 3 trillion times FTL and Tommy scales to other massively FTL feats Also despite scaling to Rita, they forgot she had a solar eclipse feat worth 158 zettatons
i also have to say: i love they brought back Tommy for Dino Thunder. i did slightly grow up watching some of Power Rangers on channels like Disney XD or Fox Kids, but when Dino Thunder came around: that was the show that got me hooked on Power Rangers and seeing Tommy be a big part of the story, both for the villains and heroes, was so cool!
I dunno how the Rita scaling works either. And if you didn’t get into this one as much because of the feeling that things just happen just to show off their abilities then you're probably not gonna get into Sasuke VS Hiei as much either. It was this episode as well that I was officially sick of "this was a close one" when their final analysis makes it very clear cut.
If Dragonzord Fighting Mode can contend with Rita herself and other people that scale to her like the Thunder Megazord, which the episode says right before the island feat, then it's pretty straight forward that Dragonzord Fighting Mode scales to Rita's own power, especially when using its strongest move, the drill stab
@@conmanay4563 They probably didn't use it because there nothing suggesting it translates her offensive power, rather than simply being a spell that moves that causes an eclipse.
@@kenshanparchman6838 ok, then Tommy can just run circles around Kyriu until it’s batteries die The classic megazord and thus the Dragonzord scales to the Dino charge megazord thanks to that team up. Nothing in the universe has reached absolute zero temperatures, and the laws of physics start to fall apart at absolute temperatures with real life scientists considering it impossible to reach. The fact that the Canon brings atoms to complete stop and destroys them means that it's essentially ignoring conventional durability and can't be measured in a simple TNT measurement. They gave kiryu the comics because they don't contradict it's main canon, while the boom comics do. If they gave Kiryu everything it'd be a lot more broken.
Happy New year! You were always my favorite Death Battle reactor though I am a lot more busy these days and I have been holding out on watching a lot of Death Battles until I can catch up with some shows. So I may not be able to watch as often but you can count on me still watching your videos at one point.
I think on their death battle cast Kariyu at the time was supposedly the only version of MechaGodzilla that could give the Dragonzord a somewhat fair chance against it, but ultimately still lose
Yeah since they also brought up that the other two Mechagodzillas would crush Dragonzord since the first one (Showa) is too strong for Godzilla and Super Mechagodzilla actually killed Godzilla like Kiryu was chosen to be more of a fair fight to Dragonzord than the other two incarnations of Mechagodzilla.
The Rangers didn't lead with the Dragon Megazord because their Ranger Oath forbids them from escalating a conflict. In other words every weapon in the Rangers' arsenal ranging from their individual handheld weapons to their massive Zords can only be used if the opponent proves itself a powerful enough threat to justify that weapon's use. Regarding the Island feat: Just how much Green's and by extension his Dragonzord's power scales to Rita (who empowered him and provided the Zord) is unknown so they high-balled it to prove just how outmatched it was. Now to answer your question regarding the White Ranger (greatly summarizing): After Tommy broke free of her control Rita and other villains kept trying to reclaim the Green Ranger power Rita had given him and nearly succeeded on several occasions (like with that candle). Tommy's connection to his Green Ranger powers eventually started to greatly weaken as a result and was eventually severed completely. Long after Tommy's de-powering Zordon finally finished a project he'd been working on for a really, *really* long time: A new Ranger power forged from the "White Light of Good" (basically the opposite of the Green Ranger power provided by Rita). He could've given it to anyone, even one of the existing Rangers as a power boost, but he chose Tommy without hesitation.
Akane coming in to distract Tommy was a super-stupid move, since she's apparently really important for keeping Mechagodzilla running (and is also its biggest weakness), but that's the kind of stuff she does in canon, so -she really should've been fired and replaced- it's in character for her.
So with the island feat they are assuming its because he defeated a giant Rita that they would have comparable feats, you will notice that they usually will play fast and loose with the loser, over estimating their power just so nobody can say they didn't show their best. People still do lol
Fun Fact: DB confirmed both Tommy and Akane survived. The post battle ko scene would show Tommy crying over his broken dagger and Akane exiting the crashed plane and taking off her helmet. It was cut for time and budget.

Death Battle phrased it really weird, basically Dragonzord fighting mode fought people that also fought Rita, so they’re all in the same tier of power
