- As you may have noticed, I'm off playing Hunt: Showdown =) 3rd game in we run into 2 LoH DKs and a LoH Cryo. Very fun.

As a solo, I really enjoy not even being able to compete or earn rewards.
While it isn't impossible, I've managed to get some rewards and even a 7 win as a solo, it's not easy. It definitely favors pre-mades a ton here.
Managed to go 6-0 after sweating and barely winning some and hard carrying some and then losing on my 7th 0-4, try again and it's always either DC/naked team mates with 0 perks / alt accounts / enemy team premade or composition way better that games are one sided. no motivation to continue playing after they got exposed with time gated legendaries and now this whale event that incentivizes you to rmt and compete.
its so unbalanced as solo you get tripple teams non stop with good gear

Clotho's Trial has convinced me that the devs do not play their own game
not only clothos trial but all patchnotes since they released. they just dont know what they are doing and the clothos patchnotes with the rogue nerf just shows that. for me game is dead for now. i will look into it again after a few months
Yeah, the big one for me was not disabling LoH right from the start with how busted it was. I can understand not having a big enough team to full scale test stuff, but they had an entire community telling them how busted it was and it's still an issue (though not as bad unless you're high end now). It's a shame, I'd like to see them use us as a data source more.

There is guy, he told me getting that clotho legendary is basically free. I asked " how so"? turns out hes playing with 3 or 4 legendaries with a very well built set on cryo (the whole set price is about 16+ mil). So yeah, free legendary.
I mean yeah, if you play a busted class with a busted build, of course it's going to be "free" haha
they need to restrict gear being brought in as a whole put everyone on the same playing field no set passives just purples with stats no set bonus vs set bonus is just to big of a gap
or they can have hella chests with all nutty gear and let everyone be BIS
I don't necessarily think restricting gear is the way to go, as it is a high-end game mode and it gives people a reason to put together a top-tier kit. I think it just looks worse now since people didn't really know what it is and didn't prepare. This will be an ongoing game mode so if people are interested, I don't think it's unreasonable to put together a really nice kit and set it aside. Something people can work towards if they care about competing, you know?
Solo DK/Fighter here and tried it 20+ times and still can't get 7 victories. Noob team8s that come in naked, don't know how to block, braindead pyros that hit me with a fireball on the back, team8s that can't tell if I'm an enemy or not. I carry almost every game, tried the dungeon borne discord to team up with randoms but still there's the guys with legendaries and that no skill no fun LoH player.
+ Rage quitters, the people who alt f4 on the second match, wasting everybody's time gold potential must get punished.
I wanted to try this mode but I dont have a lot of money or good gear. It said you get free purples...so what is the problem with naked mates? U have the chests and stuff like normal 3v3?
@@deusvult333 Go against a guy with complete LoH with all their passives and some set bonuses and its a total game changer.

In all seriousness, I was curious about this and hearing that it was basically trials of osiris, I was like "Oh no"
Yeah, it's pretty much exactly Trials of Osiris on a base level. The concept is cool (in Destiny) and still has issues, but there's potential for it to be great. It's even worse here though for additional reasons of skewing the economy with gear as well as there being a potential to "buy" currency indirectly (purchasing an entry ticket and then forfeiting the run to get 15K). We'll see if they make any changes, but so far they seem to just be ripping ideas from other games and then not implementing them very well. It's sad to see.
They have put out a new competitive mode which needs HUGE balance level when the game is still in alpha state. A game mode of this kind cannot go acceptably well unless the game is completely polished.
They need to change their mindset. Focus on new features and balance on the main game modes and THEN put out other competitive modes.
I agree. While I do think this game mode has great potential, even in early access to keep people engaged, I just don't think they put enough thought into it and there were clearly balancing issues even before this that needed to be addressed. I hope we get some communication out of them about what they learned from this first run and how they're going to fix it.
@@TheMotivationCC Personally I would of much preferred this be a mode where a portal appears in the dungeon and you and your team can risk a 3v3 with another team that takes the portal from some other lobby, and you fight to open a treasure room. It builds into the core of the game of risk and reward but gives another option other than beating bosses. And then its gear based, the higher your gear the higher the rewards. Not to mention you get to take the spoils from the other team, even dropping keys at the end to a box that could be opened in the main menu to save inventory space. So many ways that this could of been incorporated into the existing loop. I am no game dev though so I dont really know. But the flaws would of been clear to anyone who plays completive games.
@@MammothGamez That definitely sounds like a more creative element to the game, sadly I'm not too sure these devs are creative, at least it hasn't really shown so far.

I think for many players coming back in a few months or a year might be a good idea. As of now Dungeonborne needs time to develop.
As much as I don't want to push players away, if people aren't enjoying it now or don't find there's enough content, this is probably a good idea, if the game lasts a few months to a year. I'm sticking with it for now, but we'll see.
I went against the same 3 stack 3 times; they had a priest with res. This game mode was not very well thought though and is not in any way building into the core loop that the dungeon game is meant to be (or at least I would hope it to be). I would of much rather preferred them adding new mobs, bosses, levels to explore. I don't mind the team-oriented content but it should be left in the core loop so your already lower player count lobbies will not be cut out by event ques.
I tend to agree here, I don't think this is at all what the game needed. Whatever time and resources they put into this, likely would have been better spent doing stuff to keep people engaged with the main game, quests, Prestige system, etc. This game mode could work with someone in charge that knows competitive game modes, but later on once the game is more established. Sadly, I'm not sure these devs really know what their goals are here aside from taking ideas from other places and half assing them into the game.
pointless to play against teams that have swords that 100% heals on kills.. its just not gear balanced
I completely agree with you on everything you said. Therefore, as a fellow competitive player that does not like range/mage coward sht I recommend chivalry 2. I got 1.3+ hours and its still out of my favorite games.
I actually have played Chivalry as well as Mordhau, I like both, but I also like the gear loot element of this. I just want this game to get better =(

I like the game mode overall and what it was aimed to add but i think abilities should be limited- i allready did a flawless but the matchmaking after it is just double loh dk with preist or absurdly geared double stormcaller teams that spam 6 lightning on you
Also had a ttv team with 2 initiator+mistake setups (lost 4-2) which is basically like winning when you have purple gear
@@yuvalsapirh4698 I feel the same way, the concept is great (thanks Destiny), but the execution was poorly thought out here. Hopefully they actually take some time to tune it better, but time will tell. And yeah, I hear once you go Flawless, you’re put in Flawless queues with all the other teams that have done it, so you’re going to get the most sweat there. Congratulations on Flawless though!
Clotho's Trial is just for like 10 % of the ppl play this game.
@@rosev3431 It is, it’s meant to be a higher end Competitive mode, or at least it is in Destiny. It could be more inclusive with some changes, but at the end of the day, we need more content that everyone can comfortably partake in, that’s the real issue right now.
i did two attempts at this trial, first one went well, then outta nowhere the teams we were fighting were just absolutely giga stacked with the exact gear they needed and i guarantee they bought it off the auction house, cause they were literally unkillable. i simply do not have the desire to gather millions to buy shit off there cause i dont want to grind this game for 12 hours a day. its a pain in the ass trying to fight against those kits cause gear disaparity is so fuckin absurd in this game, its honestly too strong. dont get me wrong, gear needs to be strong, otherwise wahts the point of grinding to get it? that being said, its too strong. there is literally no chance for you to kill someone wearing a kit from the auction house if you got yours off the market. both kits are purple, and you will lose. i was beating the fuck out of a WW fighter, as a WW fighter myself. he literally sat there and let me whirlwind him without blocking, healing, or using anything, then he fuckin nuked me. he literally let me beat he breaks off of him, and then nuked me... he had 80% health left when i had like 60 somethin strength and 40 somethin stam.
Always played solo. With the runs that i had played, it totally sucked.
Teamed with noobs and players that not even having sets. Players that not even bother to prepare for the trial. This event is intended for trios.
It would be better if its 1v1, 2v2 or 3v3.
Yeah, it very very much favors trios. The thing is, it doesn't need to. Hell, even having VOIP would be a huge change. The little thought put into this game mode is very disappointing.

yup i just bought a 500k LoH stormrage cryo kit, went flawless last week but cryos stopped us 2 times before we ran the flawless card. Edit: besides LoH, its a skill issue tbh

I think the first flawless run is easy but after that your SoL everyone is built like demigods
if it’s competitive genuinely they should just not let you bring in gear and start you with random shit and see who’s skill genuinely wins, i’m a death knight with like 24 loh set bonuses and everything no legendarys and i’ve yet to win a flawless or find teammates with similar gear i always end up fighting against 2 mistakes and it’s so aggravating
I'm not fully opposed to them allowing gear, but there needs to be more thought put into it. It's funny, they basically took Destiny's Trials of Osiris but it managed to bring up it's own set of issues with how different high end gear can be compared to the difference in Destiny (in Destiny, there's a power level and that isn't equalized, so higher level people, even with the exact same gear, get destroyed). There just needs to be a lot more thought put in here and I could see there being ways to bring in your own gear and still have it fun for everyone.

Im convinced the devs are LoH users and that is why it still exist. It is either that or they are brain dead and this is some weird AI experiment. There is no way they neefed the clearing speed of rogues and left the ling ranfe invis and LoH
Man, just some weird ass game design decisions they're making. Makes me sad because I see potential in this game and they just seem so out of touch.
I said this with my buddies, its an event for the rich and the rich get richer but ive had some decent solo games, best runs ive had are 5 in a row, keep losing the last 2, sadly
except you had 3 weeks to prepare for clotho's buying the gear while it was cheap, instead you waited until it dropped, which spikes prices obviously, to try to get a decent set? you bent yourself over, it's not anyone else's fault

@Wolfyowns imagine thinking you need a legendary to go 7-0 lol.. you don't man, plenty of us went 7-0 without leg/unique items. If your best is 5-0 it's gonna come down to a skill/comp issue. New players shouldn't expect to go 7-0 in a game they have 0 pvp experience in either, not sure why you'd even bring new players up. It wasn't meant for new players lmao, it's a tdm pvp weekend event for people that enjoy high end competition. You're welcome to just not play clothos at all btw, the actual game still exists you know
@@ohmyitscook imagine thinking you won't lose to a team of legendary users when trying to go 7-0 lol you like to assume a lot of things and look silly doing so but I never said that at all. I was 5 wins until I got a team of legendaries to fight again, nothing about skill but keep assuming things :P
@Wolfyowns I've beaten multiple teams using 2+ legendaries with none on my team at all, why are you so defensive when it's an obvious skill issue. Even casual solos are going 6-0 to end at 7-1 at least. I'd hate to see how you feel about it if you ever get a flawless lmao, pre flawless is a blatant joke full of pve boys
Clothos is very easy I did it literally first try. The reason ppl are struggling is because they are terrible at PVP. They had a 3v3 game mode for a while ago but guess what barely anyone played it and to be fair it gave no rewards but the reward for me was getting better at the game and learning to pvp better.
There was a weekend where all I did was the 3v3 game mode for practice and in return my games improved significantly and I won my first clothos run.
If I was like most of this community (never playing 3v3s, hiding from pvp, ratting in zone etc) I would probably still not gotten my legendary.
Ppl don’t practice nor do they want to get better which is fine but don’t complain when a tournament comes and you suck. No basketball players just show up to games with out practice and scrimmages first and do well. Same concept here if you want to improve just play the 3v3 and you will
For the people good at pvp and have made a lot of money it’s fun tho. For ppl who aren’t used to pvp its not much fun

I'd be curious to see the stats of you and your teammates through those games or see how your other attempts went. You could have lucked out and hit the perfect combination of good teammates, shitty enemies or avoided the LoH meta users.
Not to take anything away from you, that's awesome you got it, but I think you might be on the low percentage side of solos going Flawless.
@@TheMotivationCC had nothing special, 10 tangling + 10 storm rage, str, dex, stam passives and 12 Loh, got qued a lot with naked randos and for the last 2 wins i found 1 cryo and 1 SM on Discord

@@TheMotivationCC it was really mid gear for dk, had like 12 Loh, 10 storm rage and 10 tangling chain with 3 passives (str dex stam)

@@wordcraftgaming1378 He likely had set bonuses like Storm Rage for example which add even more damage to those opening attacks, they can add up to a lot of damage in just one hit.

I have my issues with Hunt too (no solos breaks my heart), but it's a nice change of pace at least.
In my opinion, you should not be able to sign up as solo. 3v3 only. This is meant to be a high-end game. Therefore, there are no pugs. If you want to do end game content in most games, you have to play with others, sorry.
On the other hand, I am glad devs gave everybody an opportunity to try it. However, if you want to do well, you have to team up with others.
As for the gear, again, team up with others to avoid low gear score players. You want to play as a solo, ok but keep in mind that others want to play in blue gear.
Imo, bring your best works fine.
Most of your problems can be solved by playing with others.
I agree with you that where should be one class limit. This can be easily implemented when playing in groups, but matchmaking would take forever for solo players.
Finally, data gathered from arenas is not going to be an accurate take on the current balance. Arena and Adventure modes are totally different, just look at priests...
You absolutely do not need pre-made groups to play end-game in most games.

Are you seriously saying they should remove matchmaking so that solo players either have to use discord to find a group or cannot queue? How does that make any sense whatsoever?
@colin8477 I have not played a lot of games, but the ones I know well: WoW, Dota 1 and 2, LoL, CSGO, Valorant, Overwatch, Paladins, require a full party for competitive pvp and pve. Yes, you can join as solo, but do not expect to do well. The same rule applies to the current DB build. You can play solo, but dont expect quality pvp and do not cry if your team does not perform well.
I still stand by it. It's a 3v3 PvP, play as 3, or don't play at all.
I would not have a problem with a separate queue for solo players only, but with inferior rewards.
@@Ak3R0 Yea, saying they should remove the option to matchmake with random other players in the game to be able to play the 3v3 event is pretty ridiculous. And I'm pretty sure all those games you listed have some way to LFG or matchmake within the game. "Play as 3, or don't play at all" Yea or find 2 other players in the game to play with through some kind of LFG lobby or matchmaking system like literally every other multiplayer game ever made.
@colin8477 Yes, some of those games have LFG, and just like in DB, you will not do well if you do not run a premade group.
Please keep in mind that I am not talking about casual ranked PvP but high-end competitive gaming.

Sadly, not much. I'm sadly an optimist though and like the game at a base level, I'm just holding out hope that these devs actually listen and make good changes. I'm losing that optimism though.

cryo and dk are the only playable
I've definitely seen others have success, but the reason DKs and Cryo seem so dominant is the busted Life on Hit and ridiculous slows from Cryos. I play DK, without LoH and I do well, but it feels like an uphill battle most of the times.
