I watch one of your painting sessions before I paint, to find inspiration and a sense of calm, as well as learning many techniques that you explain. To me, you bring out on paper, the best of what watercolour can be.❤
Your words make me so happy - it is wonderful to know my videos are bringing you calm and inspiration 😊 Thank you for watching and for taking the time to leave such lovely feedback!
Anastasia, watching you paint is watching magic unfold. I want to walk into this fairy-tale scene and lie down under that magnificent tree that wanted to be painted by your graceful brushstrokes. Thank you for another splendid, inspiring and luminous painting.
Thank you for watching and for such a lovely comment! Those touches of Lavender are like a magic trick - I find that I've been using it more and more in my recent work.
Wow! Another masterpiece, I was watching your process in awe and with great joy. Thank you so much for showing and your great inspiration to try some painting right now too ;))))))😃😍😍😍🤗❤
This is probably my favorite tree I've seen. Thank you for the video, I may try to paint it; I'm very new to watercolor. I share your passion for trees.
Wow! Anastasia, this is beyond gorgeous. Love how you built up the washes and colors. “And then a tree appeared”😂. Don’t you just love that about watercolor. I overworked a landscape this week, but will repurpose it into some nice bookmarks. Love that about watercolor too. Repurposing our failed pieces gives us hope that the next one will be better😊. Blessings to you! 💗Rita
Thank you so much Rita!! Watercolour is simply magic - sometimes it paints “for” us, helping us find the way… I just love it! How wonderful you are reusing the painting you are not happy with as bookmarks. Each painting is a little stepping stone, taking us further along our creative journey ✨
This painting is just gorgeous 😍 i love the green that you added at the very beginning. I love the way the colors mingled together to create the background. And the tree just came out of nowhere, it was meant to be and became so beautiful the way the trunk and branches were painted. I love this painting.
Anastasia, Thank you for the great lesson. The written comments are very very helpful and instructive for me, a 70 year old now finally trying to get back into watercolor painting. Thanks a lot. I drew this and added a cowboy on horse riding away over the hill. I put faint mountains in the distance also. Thanks again. Don Sylvester Houston, Texas
Thank you Don! Watercolours are such wonderful medium - glad you have found them again. There is nothing else like painting in watercolour. Thank you for watching, and have fun with your paints!!
Absolutely stunning, my favorite setting, trees and sunsets. The potters pink in the sunset was a nice touch instead of a more intrusive red and I will be adding a sea sponge to my tool chest. I just found you today and this was my third or fourth video and I absolutely love your style and technique (and your presentation and music). You kept indicating doing something on the right but it was on the left of the screen, then I realized that you are in Australia so it would be backward/upside down, LOL. Thank you for sharing your talent with us imposters.
Sunsets and trees are my favourite subjects too! Have fun with sponges - they are such a useful tool in watercolour painting. I mainly use them for trees but they can also be used to create textures on rocks, etc. Thank you for watching my videos, and I am so glad to hear you are enjoying them. Happy painting! Oh, and the right/left situation was probably a typo :)
It’s interesting that we can translate the comments no matter what language, but there is no way to translate words printed on the video. Hey TH-cam/Google get your tech team working on that. It’s small world after all. 🧐
I agree - it would be so helpful if we had that option! The current way to add subtitles is just so painfully slow, I am just not capable of finding the time to do it at the moment
Beautiful piece! I have never painted a landscape but very much would like to try doing so soon. If this video is any testament to your others, I know exactly where I’ll go to find my tutorials for such! New subbie and thank you!🫶🏻
My seventh grade Art Teacher, told me … that an Artist, is a person, that makes a mistake, look like they meant it! That was 65 years ago…still applies.
Thank you 😊 This one was such fun to paint, and it did unfold very organically! Have fun with those sponges. I love them for the trees and for rocky textures, they are such a handy little watercolour tool!
Thank you! I know that this format of presenting the information is not what works for everyone but it’s the only one I can do at the moment to be able to release the videos every week.
Hello Anastasia, When you put the dark green on at the end of the video on the bottom right [20:50] the stroke is quite heavy with water. Why didn't it form a cauliflower? Just wondering. Thank you for a beautiful tutorial. Susan from AZ
Hi Susan, thank you for watching, and I am glad you enjoyed this one! I applied that brushstroke on top of a dry wash so it didn't cause a cauliflower in that large background wash. And the brush mark was not large enough to form a cauliflower within itself.
Thank you! Nature is so full of inspiration! And as for your fears, I would say just go for it - start throwing paint and water on the paper and see what happens... And don't be afraid to make mistakes, because there are no mistakes in art really - they are the stepping stones on our painting journey.
Merci beaucoup.
Oh, the wild freedom of being an artist!! Every time I watch you paint, I just want to run to my desk and start a painting. You are such a great inspiration, thank you!! ❤🥰❤

You have amazing vision to build the tree the way you did. This is spectacular. I think the touches of lavender were brilliant.

However, I would have loved for the script to be voiced so I didn't have to take my eyes off the painting process for one second.

Cómo podría yo romper mis miedos para empezar pintando con acuarela?
Comparto tu gusto por las maravillas en lo natural.

p.s. would a mix of gouache and Naples Yellow work for the grasses? Just a thought.
That would totally work! Thank you for the idea

Is that just paper?
Yes, it is watercolour on cotton paper.
Le mieux est l'ennemi du bien...je préfère lorsque la peinture est plus épurée
