Bernie Sanders will go down in history as the founder of the movement that changed the country. I hope he lives long enough to see its triumph.

Bernie Sanders has said over and over that America is an oligarchy. Bernie didn't make it as the democratic candidate for president. H.L. Menkin was correct. "Never underestimate the stupidity of the American voter." Seriously.

If Trump misses out on the republican nomination and runs as an independent, then Bernie should too. That way he isn't hurting his side running against Hillary since the republican side will have the same thing going on. With independents voting too (they weren't allowed to in most primaries) Bernie should easily beat everyone. Imagine a 4 way general election!!!

I'm just so glad to hear other people saying these things. I'm glad there is a movement, and that now we know there are other people out there feeling these things. Just knowing there is a group of us is empowering, and will help us stand stronger.

The Brits started a sailing boat race in 1851 which was won by an American yacht. For 132 years (roughly) competitors from around the world tried to win the trophy. They always lost. Finally an Australian syndicate won. Why would you give up? What's that saying? Never say never!

the revolution is done unless we all write Bernie name on the ballot if he doesn't run third party.. oh but we must insist that Bernie runs third party.. that is the only way this rev continues .. and I know he will win.. That's why the media ignores Bernie running third party because they know he has a chance to win

Cenk is absolutely correct on what will become in the next several years in this country, actually in several other countries as well. I am 60 years old and voted for 40 years, and can tell you that Bernie Sanders is one of the most inspirational and strongest leaders that I seen in my life, whether he wins or not, he tapped into something that is way past due, and inspired real change.

I'm 50 years old and have never been interested in politics for all of the reasons you listed. I know many other Berners who are over 50. How about a little recognition of the older Sanders supporters? He has lit me up like a Christmas tree! I have volunteered, donated and voted in the primary. I have never done any of those things before.
I was born in 1965. My parents weren't the most open minded people, but I had television. I learned love and tolerance from Sesame Street, All in the Family, The Jeffersons, Laugh In and the Smothers Brothers and the national news. I heard songs from Joan Baiz, Jimmy Hendrix and John Lennon. Bernie Sanders is seen as the champion of the young people, but we older people support him, too.
I plan on going to Philadelphia in July. I will gladly join hands with the young Sanders supporters in making our presence felt at the convention. If you had asked me a year ago, I would not have had a clue that any candidate could have appealed to me so much.

Millions of democrats voted. They said no to universal health care. They said no to fixing various tax loopholes and inversion schemes. They said no to eliminating private prisons. They said no to legalizing pot. They said no to free college. They said no to building coalitions before going to war. They said no to rebuilding bridges and roads which would create 13 million new jobs. The fact that democrats are no longer progressive or liberal could not be clearer to me.

California voter registration in 2016 has hit a record high, with Dem registration leading by 185%. Do you think HRC is motivating this flood, or is Bernie pulling in new voters? I suspect the latter is more true, and if so and we get a primary free of shenanigans, one can expect a huge upset.
Why do you think HRC has to go hat in hand to Wall Street, corporations, and the wealthy? Is it just easier to raise money that way? No, it's because it would be impossible for her to raise enough money from small donations. She's just not as popular and Bernie, especially out here in the West.
We can expect a record turn out at the polls this year, and if the new voter registration is an indication Sen. Sanders is going to take California by a landslide. What if he took California by 85%? That's 85% of 500 delegates, or 425 delegates. That's yuge. That would be a game changer.

This is a question to the Conservatives and Hillary Voters: ''After listening to Bernie Sanders, what is it about Bernie that you don't agree?'' He wants to fight the establishment, to bring back real democracy, where the government do what the people want and not the other way around. Bernie knows it won't be easy, but like in all revolutions, we need to start the revolution instead of going along like sheeps.

New progressives! Please, please stop using age as an identifier. As an older middle-aged progressive I'm feeling pushed out of my own movement. There are many many just like me who have railed against the machine for generations. We have been lonely and virtually silenced. We welcome this enthusiasm with open arms, and yes keep the fire lit most importantly when it's time to elect senators and representatives. This fight ends at the top but must start at the base of the pyramid to enact real change. Local elections affect change that you can taste, state elections affect politics that the nation tastes. Every election is vital to take the time and study the candidate's positions and not just vote like a party drone. True Progressive politics starts with using the brain.

Bernie will win if he runs third party . the media will never say that because the media wants Hillary and the media is proven liars and treasonist bastards.. anyone will be better for us than Hillary.. Hell even Trump will because he will bring back jobs.. Hillary is paid to keep them over seas.. And that's a fact

The two party system is unbeatable. It's the finely polished end product of centuries of fptp disappointment and disillusionment. What we need to do is find/develop a new voting system, there is a youtuber called cgp grey who very nicely explained the problems with our voting system using jungle animals, I think he was on the mark with the vids he made...
Basically with the system we have in place now, any third party candidates who enter the race and gain momentum will hurt the bigger party that people most agree with and help the party that they most disagree with... Like, if a 3rd party candidate came in with democratic ideals and gains momentum, democratic voters would jump ship from the party to vote for them, cutting into the democrat's votes. The republican however wouldn't take as big of a loss, and would win the election. Sorry if I'm rambling or not making sense... Just watch cgp grey's video on fptp. He explains it better that I could...

    • @juanflores-salazar2051
      @juanflores-salazar2051 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Mike Vietmeier,
I am aware that the party will split the vote, and most likely let the Republican nominee win. That's a price I am willing to pay- because this opportunity is one of a life time to let another party emerge from either side of the politcal spectrum: conservatives and liberals.
We haven't had this discussion of possibly voting for a third party in centuries.
This is the election were we let the parties know that they we can hold them accountable for this corrupt campaign finance, primary process, and many more.
Bernie is right, agree or disagree with his beliefs, but we can't get anything done until we get big money out of politics. INCLUDING CORPORATE MEDIA.

As a young man, my father was a progressive activist. He stood against the Vietnam war, against nuclear proliferation, against apartheid, etc. and for the past 40 years or so, he's learned that every candidate he supports is destined to lose or be blocked out by money.
He talks about this jokingly, something self-deprecating almost. You can tell he's lost his expectation that anything will improve. There's a deep grain of pessimism in every political discussion he has. But...
Despite all that, despite the let-downs and the "They probably won't win."'s, *he has never stopped voting.* I've seen him go through pouring rain without an umbrella, straight out from work, just to reach a polling station. Solely because he thinks it's the right thing to do.
I'm proud to be his son. I'd do anything to give him a progressive outcome for once in his life. I can only imagine how it is for people who aren't as habit-driven as him.

I'm an older guy from a little country in the South Pacific - New Zealand - who strongly believes that the United States, indeed the world, NEEDS Bernie Sanders. Why? Simple. His politics are "people first" politics. Let me explain. There's two kinds of politics: The individual is more important than the whole (If the individual is strong, then the whole will be strong.) This is the mantra of the right. The other kind of political dogma - to which I subscribe - is this: Look after the body and the soul follows OR look after the whole and the individual thrives. We, here in NZ, are going through the same kind of crap (in a minute form) that you in the US have been going through for decades. For example, water in NZ is NOT owned by anyone, but anyone can apply to their local authority for the right to take water for their commercial use, pay a processing fee of $500 p.a., and use the water how they wish. So, a Chinese company comes to NZ, buys a water right, bottles 140,000,000 litres per year and sells the bottles water in China for $1.50 per bottle, making a quarter of a billion dollars per year for a $500 investment. But hold on to your braces a bit. The company is called Oravida. One of its directors is the former leader of the National party (Jenny Shiplee) - your equivalent of the Republicans - and another is the husband of a Cabinet Minister in the current National government.
So now do you understand why Bernie's message is not just important for the US. It resonates around the world in so-called Liberal Socialist Democracies like ours.
That's why I am really disappointed that Clinton is going to go up against Trump and one of them is going to be President. I'm fearful that Bernie's message will get buried in the avalanche of crap that is to come and the 1%ers can breathe a sigh of relief that American politics has survived another McGovern onslaught!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    America: DON'T LET IT HAPPEN!

I hope that the movement continues, and for all our sake we will see his like again.

The youth inspired by Bernie will never accept less now. Bernie deserves to win, he's worked insanely hard and is a gem among politicians. I will always love this guy. Don't lose hope or ever give up people, this is a lifelong battle. Educate yourself to the highest degree possible and educate others as well. Bernie Sanders is one of the greatest patriots in modern history if not in all of US history. He put his life on the line over and over. He was such a target for venom that it took a powerfully brave/courageous and gentle man to take what he did for all of us.
